Fantastic as always! David has always made me feel at ease with his inspections, and always makes sure my partner and I are happy with our flat. Though we have a couple of issues at the moment, David contacted bensons during his inspection for an update. Every time he comes round we always have lovely conversation, and though always the height of professionalism, I always look forward to saying hello to him every 6 months.

Easy viewing of 2 available flats, and further completion of all necessary documents signing for my choice of flat.
Also during handing keys, I was abroad. Bensons Estate made the process easy and my brother received the keys for me, which apparently made things very easy for me. During the moving in process I have received all the support through the phone or email if I had any questions. Also I have received some vouchers ??????????

I recently used Bensons Estate Agents to sell my 4 bed bungalow. They were excellent from the very first contact. They spent time and effort preparing a schedule for my house . I also had the arial photography and drone video option and the walk through video captured my home exactly as I wanted to show it.
I have to admit I was nervous and worried about showing people around but Bensons did all of that for me. The marketing was well targeted and I received excellent feedback from each viewing. My home sold within a week and I was delighted with the friendly professionalism and great value for money from Bensons .
They took all of the stress of moving home away and they kept me informed through the whole process. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thanks to Kev and Shaun in particular. Great customer service

We moved in on May 10th. The move-in process was (very) fast and easy. They also get back to you very fast through emails and for any over the phone enquires, they make sure you understand everything, answer all questions with great detail and are very friendly on call and in-person.
We were able to collect the keys from their office, which was very tidy looking and employees looked professional as well as friendly.
They have left us a "welcome" box, and the contents made us smile because it included very random items inside, from stress relief face masks, to beef stock cubes, they have also gave many discount vouchers, some matched the items they gave, eg. They gave coffee capsules in the box as well as the discount voucher for the company that makes them.

We've used Bensons for the last 4 year to let out our flat and latterly, to sell it, initially choosing them based on attractive fees and a friends recommendation. Alan from the lettings side dealt with all of our entry, exit and mid term inspections and every report was what only can be described as clinical in the level of detail. Any discrepancies from entry to exit were clearly marked and at all times, Alan was on hand to provide his expert advice. Additional extras like getting an extra key cut were easily accommodated and nothing was a problem.
We've now sold the flat with Kevin being our main contact. Again, we bowed to his expert advice when deciding on an asking price and at what level of offer to accept. We can't recommend the entire team highly enough for anything related to property and would have no hesitation in using them again in the future.

Rented with them for just over a year and had pretty much every problem you can think of. Use any other estate agents. They refused to fix anything in the flat, I had no working fridge the entire time and only ever got more and more promises of a new one. The skirting boards where falling off, the heating didn't work properly and costed around 6 or 7 pound a day to use. All of the windows sounded open even when shut and you could feel a strong breeze through all the gaps.
I complained about all of the problems but not one thing was ever fixed. The flat was like something out of the third world and I only took it as I needed somewhere fast at the time.
They also are now currently trying to take 190 pound from my deposit for a deep clean even though I had already cleaned the flat very well including cleaning the carpets and making the entire place spotless. On top of that I personally repainted all the walls and fixed two doors that were hanging off their hinges when I moved in. Also the place was disgusting when I moved in with grime all over the bathroom and dirt literally everywhere.
The staff were always friendly just useless and incredibly lazy.
Do not use Benson's if you can help it in any way.
Update: now a man by the name of Alan Craig is just literally lying through his teeth to try and steal money from my deposit. This estate agents is criminal and the lack of any professionalism is shocking. It's like dealing with school children. There is no maturity or understanding in any correspondence. Just accusations and lies. He has claimed no notes where taken during any of the inspections even though I personally saw the inspector write down my problems in their tablet each time and make new promises each time. I should have just refused to pay several months rent and just left as what they are doing is illegal. This company could not really get any worse.

I found Bensons to be incredibly professional. They are responsive and easy to talk to. Whenever I had an issue, they were on hand to resolve it, even out of hours on many occasions which is unheard of in letting agent property management. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other tenants and landlords alike.

The worst letting agency I have ever come across. I was tenant for 2 years with this agency and their treatment of me was very bad and absolutely shocking. The problems are almost too numerous to details. Honestly, I am happy this is over and I don’t need to deal with them ever again. Would not recommend this agency.

Yesterday my boyfriend and I had a viewing in East Kilbride, we got a bus and a train from Cumbernauld to the viewing and the estate agent did not turn up. We sat for 45 minutes outside the door of the viewing and no one showed up, because the viewing was at 6pm the office was shut therefore we could not contact anyone since that was the only phone number my boyfriend received.
We then look at the property again online to discover that it has now been ‘let agreed’. After a phone call to the office this morning my boyfriend was told that someone tried to contact him but his phone was switched off. I was in touch with him throughout the full day so his mobile was switched on the full time.
How we have been treated is an absolute disgrace and completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I just wanted to make people aware of how unreliable this company are.

Having just come out of a 4 year let I have to say that my 1st and only experience to date of being a tennant was a very positive one thanks to the support I received from Bensons. Anything I had concerns about was handled very promptly and professionaly by the team in their EK office.
From the day I first viewed the flat, through the statutory inspections and utility upgrades through to the close out visit everyone at at Bensons couldnt have been more helpful.
I must just mention Alan Craig who I had the most face to face contact with during my tenancy and who always carried out any visits to the property in a respectful and courteous manner.
Bensons provided an all round excellent service and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to rent or purchase a property.

As a letting agents they are not fit for purpose. No one at Bensons seems to take responsibility. Often I was told that I would get a call back that never happens. The staff are either completely incompetent or blatantly lie to you. The first issue arose when we had a leak in our upstairs bathroom. I called to inform Bensons and was told they would get in touch with the landlord and get back to me. I called everyday for 6 days before we managed to get a plumber out to sort the leak. This was nothing in regards to the next problem we experienced with them. Initially we were told that the lease would run from month to month for the first 6 months but essentially it was a long-term lease. After being told this and that the last tenant had lived there for 6 years (to use that as a barometer) we requested to decorate, were permitted to do so. After decorating we were then informed by email by Bensons that the property may be getting put on the market. Every time I called Bensons I was given a different version of events depending upon which member of staff I spoke with. On the first instance, I was told that the email was sent in error, then we were asked if we wanted to purchase the property, then it was the property was not being sold which changed to it might be sold in 1 years time. As my partner was pregnant, which Bensons knew of we decided to avoid this precarious situation by finding a different property. There is a severe lack of professionalism, accountability and empathy shown to tenants by Bensons. To cause this much stress and worry to anyone is nothing short of disgraceful especially at the time we found out we were expecting a baby, this is the last thing we needed. It appears that a lot of the issues we experienced could be resolved if Bensons took responsibility, acted professional, were open and honest with people and communicated better. Which is worrying as if they cant manage these basic expectations then I am stumped as to how they can manage a letting agency.

As a Landlord / property owner I found Bensons Initially friendly and helpful, we had a flat to let so went with them. Friendly and helpful turned to woeful. I cannot think of anything that I could recommend. I was lied to, ignored and when I attended their office in person was fobbed off with false promises.
I have since taken my business elsewhere and even my tenant noticed a positive difference a decent letting agent can make.
Amongst other issues an electrical safety check that was conducted, arranged by Bensons, missed a poorly wired electric shower. Having had it re-inspected, the electrician was astonished how it was missed. I tried to speak with staff at Bensons and was fobbed off. This is not the behaviour of professionals looking after your Landlords interests.
Very poor at returning calls or emails.

Can not recommend bensons. In my dealings with the office staff when there are issues with the flat I rent there is a lack of ownership and follow through. No one seems to accept responsibility and all I get is we Will email the landlord and get back to you. 9 times out of ten I get no response from the office staff unless I chase up myself.
I had a health and safety issue with a mirrored wardrobe door which took weeks to resolve and I’m still waiting weeks later on a satisfactory resolution . There was zero empathy from the office staff and it was like dealing with a brick wall. The Bensons inspector who came out for the twice yearly flat inspection not to inspect the wardrobe was the only member of staff who showed any understanding and empathy why. I showed him the broken door and reported it as a health and safety issue. Thankfully he was a real help and the only good thing I have to say about my dealings with Bensons so far.
I don’t know how landlords experience ce letting through Bensons but as a renting customer I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the lack of service

awful service when trying to rent a flat firstly was given wrong address for property luckily correct address was close so we saw agent arriving ...he looked at us as If we were mad when we said we had appointment to view !
he had another viewer with him.and instead of taking us into property seperately he took us all in at once ..it was very uncomfortable for all.concerned so unprofessional !
Then when I went into office to give paperwork girl at front desk had cheek.to say we had cancelled our appointment to next day ! totally untrue and appeared there mess up was being passed to us ..Awful from beginning to end ...we got a property elsewhere but Bensons did not even have curtesy to get back to.us or follow up the viewing.

Have just completed the sale of my parents house in East Kilbride. Dealt with Samantha throughout the process and cannot praise her efforts in securing the sale high enough, but more importantly her communications through out the process were first class. Every email and phone call were always promptly returned and nothing was a bother for her at all. Importantly for me as I was handling this for my parents from a distance and because of delicate health issues I really needed to be sure I was leaving my parents in good hands with respect to viewings etc. Many other estate agents said the same words as Samantha, but none of them had the genuine element of care behind them in my opinion. Do not even know where to begin with Bensons, the fact I have to give them a star to even write this review is generous. Firstly, they are more than happy to let out sub standard properties. When we went to visit our flat originally there was substantial damp in one of the cupboards. We were advised this would be taken care of before we moved in. The shower cubicle door was also lose, which in fact completely fell away on my first evening in the flat, which we were told would be fixed and the sink itself was pulling away from the wall, again we were promised this would be taken care of. None of these maters were sorted but we did not get to see the flat again until we had paid our deposit and were given our keys. This was only the start of Bensons making and then breaking promises. Every single thing that went wrong in the flat, no matter how minor, we contacted bensons immediately to have it fixed. They would ignore emails, not return calls and promise work men would be out that never showed. Flat inspections were re arranged which is not ideal when both myself and my partner work. We finally decided to leave the flat anf bensons after months of living in a damp flat with poor communication from the agency. They are now dragging out the return of our deposit and are intent on bleeding us dry of every last penny. Despite having written agreement of how much we were to be paid back, they have now disputed this amount and are withholding our money almost a month after we moved out. I am aware of how ranty this review is but I honestly just want anyone considering Bensons to know the truth. They are rude, un reliable and liars. Please do your research people and save yourself months of heartache.

Can't recommend bensons. Don't reply to emails or calls. Have dealt with 3 different members of staff of which have no desire to help. Niamh, who always says she will get someone to call us back but never does. Alan, who blatently lies to our faces about getting help with the flat e.g repairs to the flat and most recently the getting back of our deposit. And insists on charging us with ridiculous fees regarding fixing the problems that were in the flat before we rented it out. And lastly the manager Kevin, who seems friendly and eager to help us get our deposit issue sorted but is no help at all. The motto in bensons must be "there's always someone else to blame" as they seem to blame the tenants, the deposit company or landlords. I can't stress enough, don't deal with bensons.

I can't thank Samantha enough for all the assistance she provided in the sale of the house. From advising on appearance, providing photographs, contacting surveyor and selling the house was all completed in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend Benson's to anyone selling or buying property ; they make a very stressful process completely stress free. However, I would not trust them with renting out property. I received the property back in dreadful condition and my e-mails remain unanswered requesting information I need for tax purposes.

Do not trust them. First they wanted me to pay electric bill for previous days. I got the flat very dusty and dirty. I report them they did nothing and I have to clean someone else mess. I reported them one of radiator broken. After 6 months later i moved out it was still broken.

Terrible service I was a tenant for two years the manager Kevin is completely useless never returns phone calls never gave me an inventory when i moved in when i sent him an inventory I made to protect myself I got no reply after weeks of calling I called in to the office but he wouldn't see me but I was told the inventory was accepted. but when i moved out of the apartment they couldn't locate the signed inventory because there was none. Needless to say the landlord was not happy . Just one example of there complete lack of professionalism.Stay well clear if your a tenant or landlord .

We had been renting for about 4 years prior to dealing with Bensons, they are by far the worst company we have ever dealt with. They even tried to illegally charge us an administrative charge.
Save yourself a lot of hassle and never rent from these people. If you do decide to rent with them, make sure you get everything in writing/emailed.

I sub let my flat through Bensons letting agency over the last few years. In June the tenant had moved out and my flat was empty for a few weeks. I got a phone call from Kath at Handy trades 4 U which is now part of Bensons. Kath had to went the flat and advise me on what I can do to improve it. Kath advise me to look at re decorate the flat as my flat had not been decorate in a few years and started to look tired. Kath got a few quotas and organises my flat to be decorate as i would of not able to organises and have the time to decorate myself. My flat is now finish and is nicely done and to a good standard and ready for a new tenant to move in. When I have phone Bensons I usually speak to Kevin or Donna. I found the staff at bensons helpfull and give me update on the flat and the tenants. I would like to thanks Kath for all the work she had done to improve my flat.

Bensons were the letting agents a family property in EK. Whilst the service seemed fine at the initial letting, 18 months down the line it was appalling. Having encountered serious problems with the tenants, Bensons did not follow through on their obligations. Property inspections were not carried out thoroughly or often enough, meaning that damage, neglect and generally poor upkeep of the property was not identified and dealt with. Rent was not paid, items were taken from the house, Bensons' records were all mixed up regarding previous payment and generally their service has been disgusting. Bensons were not proactive enough in dealing with the situation or helping in the aftermath to pursue the issues, in fact they don't even return phone calls or emails (loads of them) and lie to your face when you visit. There appears to be no complaints process or management responsibility taken, even the top-man doesn't answer an email or phone call! We would also question the checks carried out and their insurance obligations. PLEASE DO NOT USE BENSONS.
