One of London's top rip-off joints! We walked in unsuspectingly for last orders and ordered 2 espresso martini's and 1 negroni, this came to an eye-watering £43. The bar lady's attempted justification was there was live music. So still in disbelief, we walked through to find a seat, of which there were non in the live music area (also zero social distancing), only seats left were at the patio outside (to make matters worse, it was raining). Final straw came when the same bar lady cleared our glasses before we had even finished our drinks. AVOID... Read more

The decor is nice and all, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. For a tiny bottle of Stella Artois (OF EVERYTHING) they charged me 5/6 pounds. When my friend came in and wanted to meet me upstairs he was being held back by the rude bar personnel telling him he had to buy something before he could go up? As my friend doesn't drink he told the men that he doesn't drink and if he could have water or tea, which they charged him 6 pounds for. For literally hot water and a normal supermarket tea bag.

A friend took me took this place and I’m so glad we went. Inside is absolutely fantastical. You walk into a bar which serves coffee, cocktails etc, they sell different types of baklava, then you walk further to the back to this room of Americana - see pics. There all these sofas and armchairs in a dimly red lit room covered in picture frames and posters. Upstairs was like a burlesque style decor packed full of beautiful & unusual chairs.
The bar staff were incredibly friendly and kind.
The Espresso Martinis were delicious and didn’t have that overpowering coffee flavour like many places serve.

This used to be my one of my favourite places, but brought some non-Londoner friends recently and it's really changed. Staff were not very nice to us (wouldn't let us go in and check there was a table big enough first before ordering drinks, which feels like a normal thing to do) and the prices are astronomical - I live nearby and I'm not easily shocked but everything was just that bit too pricey, which ruins your enjoyment as you feel ripped off. They also closed the upstairs just after we'd got there, so we had to move tables. Such a shame as the aspects I used to love (cosy, quirky, late-night bar with friendly table service and delicious reasonably priced cocktails) are clearly gone.... Read more

Truly atmospheric however awfully expensive bar.
The ground floor features a proper bar counter and genuinely vintage decoration and is not as cluttered as the upper floor. Generally staff does pull off the cocktails however there is no consistency - drinks quality can range from excellent to below average depending on the bartender. Same goes for how accommodating the staff is overall. And yes - ridiculously expensive. I wouldn't mind the extra spent once in a while if the service was less erratic.... Read more

Fantastic place but the authoritarian approach to drinks is a big turn off you always have to fight through. Been three times now and it’s always the same. Don’t even think about trying to even have a look around upstairs before you’ve bought your somewhat overpriced drinks or you will face the wrath of the bar staff and/or the unnecessary but friendly ‘upstairs bouncer’. Then you can expect to have staff come up to your table every 15 minutes, without fail, asking if you would like more drinks (regardless of if they can clearly see that you’re barely half way through your £13 cocktails. But you’ll have a great time here so definitely check it out.... Read more
