It's been 18 days since I moved out and I'm yet to receive my deposit back. On top of that I've been told my deposit will have £240 worth of cleaning charges deducted despite the place being cleaned and in the same state was when i received the keys. Will definetly be raising a claim with the ADR

I'd like to warn others about my experience with Hunters Shoreditch. I moved in 6 months ago and since then I expected a wide range of issues that were left unaddressed. The heating broke down during the coldest days this winter for almost a month and now I have been left without a working shower/bath also for about a month - I have to use gym facilities to go to work. I spent hours writing emails to the agency but my requests are being ignored. I won't even mention smaller issues that were ignored but not having central heating or running water for such a long time is unacceptable. My request to contact the landlord directly (who is probably unaware about the situation) has also been ignored despite being a statutory right of a tenant.

I have been dealing with Hunters in Shoreditch for the last 14 years who look after my portfolio of properties. Up to this point, i was using another local agent who was struggling to achieve market value rents on my vacant properties. Within 2 days of instructing Hunters, not only did they rent my vacant property, they achieved 10% above what my previous agent suggested. I have not looked back since and have recommended them to many friends and family. A very proactive agent with friendly staff that go above and beyond.

Interesting how it took Hunters less than a day to respond to a Google review when it took them 5 days and multiple calls to pick up on single email. Beyond the fact that they took money from the various tenants that they were not allowed to, shared personal information below on a public platform, did signifcant mistakes (e.g. telling people they are due >gbp1200 when they were actually due >gbp300 etc etc I am happy that I never have to get close to this agency again. They still owe me money!

I really wish I had the same experience with Hunters as everyone above. Mine has been dreadful: on the move-in day the apartment wasn’t cleaned and the furniture wasn’t removed, as was stated in the contract. When the wardrobes were removed - there was black mould across the whole bedroom wall. (I know this is the landlord’s responsibility, but the issue should have been solved before I moved in with all my belongings.) I had to ask 3 times for the inventory report, and after sending comments on the report, I’ve had to follow up 4 times in order to be able to sign the report, which I still haven’t 6 weeks after moving in. Also the agency/landlord owes me money for the professional clean that I was aloud to organize myself (which I’m thankful for). Also the state of the property is bad, I addressed it on the viewing but the agent told me this is normal. I’m new to London, so I believed him. After living here for a couple of months - I understand this is not the standard and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Running a money laundering company from the same address called Rafiq Productions Limited. Funnelling money from a wedding photography business that wasn't incorporated and never providing images.
UPDATE: Please see proof of address Rafiq Productions Ltd matching that of Hunters, and that the business owner Polat who also had joint businesses with the company in question.
Hunters are now threatening me with legal action.
Will update again if further developments arise.

My Best Friend and Business Partner is the only way I can honestly describe my relationship with Raz, Polat, and the rest of the Team at Hunters.
My wife, Emma and I plan to sell our home, leave the UK and travel the world. Having dealt with many different estate agents over the years; Raz and his Team are the only people that I trust completely to manage my property business.
They provide a balanced service for both the tenant and the landlord with a level of service and HONESTY that I have NEVER found in another estate agent or other service provider.
Even though they are running a business in a cutthroat industry they are still fair to tenants whilst maximizing my rental income and minimising my repair costs.
I come from an accounting and service management background and when the fist introduced the repair / maintenance side of the business I was their worst nightmare. I questioned everything including the fundamental way in which they managed their process. Where other agents would have said goodbye; they listened and improved the process. Recently a not so nice window contractor did a sub-optimal job and a fancy tilt and turn window and Tijen fought to get a full £718.80 refund and when I asked her if she wanted anything for the time she put into the job she replied "No thank you." To me this was above and beyond my expectations given my experience of contractors over my 6 years managing restaurants.
Raz manages my London properties which are very nice high end flats but when I have issues with other agents in London or social housing out of London I pop in for a chat and a coffee, which he never lets me pay for. He always advises me on the best course of action to give the optimal solution be it short or long term. When I have asked other estate agents for advice to maximise a capital gain they can only see as far as this years budget with no regard to my bank balance. Raz understands Life, Loyalty and long term goals to give a perfect balance between buy to let income and capital gains that I have never seen before and that includes one of my best friends who is also an estate agent. To me other estate agents appear so focused on this years profit that they just cannot see the big picture.
Raz and his team seem like a paradox of everything that I have experienced with estate agents over 10 years managing my property business.
Are they perfect? No they are human. But they are dynamic and efficient with every aspect of protecting my business profits and my peace of mind. I'm not sure I can ever thank you enough and hope that my words do you justice.

In my last 5 years of moving apartments every year working with letting agents, Hunter's staff definitively have the worst service. I recently moved into an apartment and was assigned an account manager Stacey. The account manager is not helpful at all, blatantly refusing to help on calls, not replying to emails, not even letting me talk to other staff members, etc. So at this point I am living in an apartment where:
- I cannot setup the wifi as the internet providers cannot find the connection and the account manager has refused to help
- I cannot setup gas and electric as the account manager has not provided me with meter readings
- I have a dirty carpet (that was supposed to be changed before I moved)
- I have a large shipment coming however the account manager refuses to provide me with a location near the apartment where a truck can be parked for 20 mins.
Despite raising these issues through numerous phone calls and emails, there has been no resolution. The company's staff do not even care to update me on the status of various requests and only respond after sending repeated emails. Do not recommend at all. Personally, I will never work with them again.

I lived in the UK for over 18 years, and rented many times from private landlords as well as agencies.... I rented an apartment from Hunters for 3 years, a newly built in a modern building, which was an absolute nightmare as well as Hunters proved to be the works agency!
AVOID IT WHILE YOU CAN! The team is super unfriendly... and never responded on time, they raised our rent without any warning (which led us to terminate the tenancy and leave earlier)... there was only one person we could talk to (won’t mention the name..) only later we found out she was fired because she was helping us to resolve issues... THIS AGENCY IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.. when we moved out, we asked for invoices (least for the last 3 months, which we needed to give to the next agency), they sent us an invoice for 160£ ... I’m not even going to mention that there was no hot water sometimes for weeks lasting for months, that bills were on landlady’s names because she needed it to be this way for tax purposes (apparently she was American)... I REST MY CASE, I’m happy because I finally moved back home closer to Mediterranean Sea... :) but as a peace of advise- i tell you, better to avoid this agency!

TLDR: In summary, once you sign the lease good luck getting any response for queries or concerns, when you move out they will try to leech every last penny out of you. Would highly discourage anyone from dealing with them.
My experience with these people:
When we move in, we notice that the balcony has not been cleaned and is full of dried leaves and twigs. Upon informing Hunters they refused to have it cleaned even though they were obliged to. We tolerated.
We then realised a few things in the house that weren't working: like half the light fixtures, half the heaters, the washer/dryer, the oven light, one out of two large burners on the hob, one of the bathroom towel heaters, air vent in the toilet.
When we informed hunters of this, they dilly dallied and tried to use cheap ways of shirking responsibility (like outright lying). This went on for THREE MONTHS before they did anything. When we decided to move out, they suggested we let them hire cleaners on our behalf and that it would cost up to £X. Turns out that through a myriad of vague reasons and more lies, they wanted to charge us £4X. When we dug our heels in and threatened to go to the DPS for a dispute resolution, they agreed to settle for £1.5X.
Unprofessional, unreliable, incompetent and tried to lie and sneak out of doing their job.

In general hunters seems to be a pretty dishonest estate agency. We were mislead during virtual viewings with Gokhan Evlat. Despite asking multiple times about the soundproofing of the apartment, the quality of the building and surrounding area, the majority of the information given to us was false. Unfortunately we paid a holding deposit based on the lies we were told.
When viewing the apartment, they neglected to tell us about the drug use within the building, the building itself was in poor condition, lack of soundproofing within the apartment ( extremely thin walls ), and the apartment was horrifically dirty.
Important things were obviously omitted during the virtual viewing with Gokhan. When asking for the despot back from the branch manager Raz Rafiq, they refused. So not we will have to go through the property ombudsman to get our deposit back!
And upside to this story is that we explained our situation to Foxtons and they helped us find a great apartment on the same day.

When being taken for my viewing, it was such a miserable day so it was already not the best way to start the day but from the service I received it completely changed my attitude for the rest of the day. I had a young gentleman called Levander; first of all, he was punctual (which is more than I can say for the estate agency I had previously used). Came across very well, so helpful and couldn’t be more helpful if he tried. Answered everything no hesitation and gave the extra mile with customer service, wasn’t too pushy and was honest. Would definitely recommend this agency and wish I had found it sooner!

I am a 46 year old German engineer and moved to London 6 months ago for work. I needed a short term let and whilst I was met with disdain from other agents, the people at Hunters were incredibly sympathetic to my plight and showered me with great empathy; especially from Paul Floyd. I was able to secure a flat for 6 months and even ended up extending my stay, so that I could spend a little bit of time exploring the wonderful city of London with my family. Without this incredible agency I don’t know what I would’ve done.

I really wish I could write a positive review for Hunters, especially after so many other positive reviews. However, after many emails and attempts to retrieve our deposits, my former housemates and I have had to resort to legal measures against both Hunters and our previous landlord who failed to protect our deposits under the legally binding Deposit Protection Scheme. Unfortunately, Hunters are now ignoring our emails. The last six weeks have culminated in a very stressful, time consuming and financially draining experience which I feel could have been completely avoided.

My experience with Hunters was really good. There is always someone available to help you and support you. They find quick solution to any domestic issue.
Raz and Kirsten were very understanding and helpful. I was bit afraid going through the moving process, but they made it super smooth and comfortable.
I highly recommend Hunters. So far it is the best Estate Agency I have deal with in London.

I used Hunters to buy an investment propert near the famous "silicon roundabout", Old Street.
The director Polat, really knows his stuff and was about to give me stirling advice and guidance on the best types of properties to invest in within that area. He's honest and genuine and certainly doesn't have the stereotypical characteristics of an "estate agent" :-)
