Horrible experience we have had!<br><br>*Not 1 star it’s in fact not even worthy of a rating*<br><br>After having viewed a property, I was satisfied, in fact pleased with what I had seen! However only requested that a little job could be done which was painting the walls of a bedroom that had glitter and starts all over it! After being asked to wait for an answer from the landlord, I was aware of how popular this property would be and opted to want to pay the holding deposit instantly despite the painting not being at its best condition, I made them aware that I wasn’t bothered with the painting and would paint it myself if necessary (following the landlords approval of course.) and was ready to pay the holding deposit, which they then told me I had to wait for the landlords response in order to pay the holding deposit. After going back and forward for 2-3 days with them I then unfortunately received an email saying that the landlord had chosen another candidate for the property…<br><br>Moral of the story is, this agency firm had unfortunately delayed my experience and have lacked highly on the organisation part of things. After being told that a holding deposit could not be taken until the appropriate individual was around and following the landlords approval, if this wasn’t the case no more viewings would have taken place preventing any misunderstanding and allowing myself to move forward with the property which was morally the correct thing to do considering I was the first person to enquire about it.<br><br>*AVOID THEM THEIR NO GOOD* ????????????

Out of 9 estate agents City and County have stood out the most. I can’t recommend CALLUM highly enough he has been such a HUGE help. From the beginning has been kind, thoughtful and dedicated throughout the whole process. He has always stayed in contact even during the quiet periods. Following on from a traumatic experience, my parents had to look for a temporary rental property. Anne-Marie was amazing from the off. Sold our house in February this year. Our first contact was with Charles Beck and then Callum Hannah came round to value our home. Callum is very nice,excellent sales person. Everyone was very nice until our house became SSTC. Once that had happened we were bounced around from person to person. No continuity in the service. Emails are written in Estate Agent jargon. We were not informed verbally that by using Premier Property Lawyers that the agent recieves a commission. It is indeed in the small print of the contract however I am visually impaired and I made that clear several times. City and County did not carry out due diligence to ensure that the people who had made the offer on our home which we accepted were in a position to move forward with the purchase. The prospective buyers were tied into a 6 month rental agreement which we were not made aware of at the time of accepting thier offer. As a result we accepted the offer in the third week of September and we were unable to move until February. Had we been informed at the time we we would have refused the offer. After speaking with the Ombudsman I was informed that City and County Estate Agents should have ensured the prospective buyers were in a position to move forward. I do not Recommend this Estate Agency to anyone.

AVOID Callum Wilkins at any cost !!!!!<br><br>I had a very disappointing experience with this agency during a recent attempt to make an offer on a property. The communication felt extremely pressured and unprofessional, especially during a phone call with one of their sales negotiator, Callum Wilkins. At several points, I felt pushed into increasing my offer beyond what I intended, and the conversation left me feeling uncomfortable and rushed rather than supported.<br><br>This is not how a property purchase should feel. Buying a home is stressful enough without being pressured or made to feel intimidated during the process. The experience was negative enough that we decided to withdraw our offer entirely and step away from the purchase.<br><br>I also did not appreciate the persistent attempts to push their mortgage services on us, despite clearly stating that we already had our own adviser. The whole interaction left us with no confidence in continuing with this agency.

Stay away from this outfit if you value your money, physical and mental health!<br><br>Prior to the move I was promised the property would be cleaned, the previous tenant's belongings removed and the garden fenced...<br><br>The move in:<br>1)I was not given the signed tenancy agreement until after I moved in and that only after I repeatedly demanded it.<br>2)When I moved in, the property remained in a disgusting state. I have never seen such a filthy piece of property in all the years I have been renting. (See pictures)<br>3)The fridge/freezer and washing machine of the previous tenant had not been removed, and I was asked to move them myself out.<br>4)No fence around the garden. The garden(s) [front and back] was a veritable jungle. The outside bins filthy and rancid. In subsequent communication, the landlord dared suggest that he could send me plants (!) and I could plant them around the garden in lieu of a fence!<br>5)The shed that was advertised as part of the property was locked and no key was provided. When I demanded access, someone came to the property when I was not there and broke the lock! The shed was filled with trash, half the roof was missing<br>6)Tons of junk from the previous tenant were left in the property. I was warned not to chuck the used toilet brush, rotted doormats, and shower curtain, so the landlord would not charge me for them!<br>7)The previous tenant had left tons of debt with the energy company. No one thought of mentioning the pay as you go gas meter. It took me months and 10s of hours on the phone with the energy company as well as dealing with debt collectors to resolve this issue.<br>8)The house was not connected to ANY internet line, as in it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to connect to the internet. I tried fixing this with BT and spent hundreds of hours on the phone with them. I was without internet for MONTHS.<br><br>First year:<br>9)The bathroom toilet was leaking non-stop for months which cost me a fortune in water bills until they sent someone to fix it.<br>10)The bathroom radiator was not working and leaking. I reported this multiple times. I was advised to tape it. When this didn’t work and after many more reports, they sent multiple people to study (?) the leaking radiator to establish that tape could not fix it. I kept reporting this. Nothing happened for months. The humidity started eroding the cheap bathroom door until there was a hole. Summer came and I stopped freezing while trying to void my bladder.<br><br>Second year (rent increased!)<br>11)Radiator keeps leaking. I reported this again. NOTHING. I reported them to the council and FINALLY someone came and fixed it.<br>12)The oven started tripping. I reported this multiple times. NOTHING. They eventually sent someone who said it was fixed. The next day the OVEN went again, AND I had no power. I reported it. NOTHING. I reported them to the COUNCIL AGAIN. Eventually they sent someone to replace the oven. This took WEEKS. I had to buy a huge AIR-FRYER, for which I was never compensated.. The property had NO EICR which IS ILLEGAL.<br>13)The guy who “inspected” the property came in with dirty shoes and left mud throughout the property. The irony of them INSPECTING this property and claiming that it was for my benefit was truly fantastical.<br><br>MOVE OUT – present:<br>I left the property on the agreed date, having paid all my rent on time. I also left the property in a FAR BETTER state than I received it, something which they admitted themselves in writing. Since then, I have repeatedly asked for my full deposit BACK or at least to know if they are disputing this. NOTHING.<br>Update: After endless emails, I got the deposit back an entire month after I moved out, even though NOTHING was disputed.<br><br>AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.<br><br>*LANDLORD: DIMITRIOS ALAFOUZOS<br><br>Update: Everything they did was for my benefit! To give you a better idea of the level of hypocricy, when at the beginning of my tenancy I went to their offices asking what I'm supposed to do with the old fridge and washing machine, an arrogant gentleman clad in the usual estate agent uniform told me to keep it in the lounge!

Absolutely the best Estate Agents. Had a very poor experience with William H Brown so was feeling particularly jaded. Callum at City & County did not flannel me but were certain they would sell my house in three weeks. In fact had 2 buyers before it even went online. After moving out we had a flood and Natasha especially was STUPENDOUS! Sorted out fixing the leak, clearing up all the water, checking on the house twice daily to empty dehumidifiers (that they sourced for me) etc…as I was hours away. I could not have gotten through all this without their help and encouragement….nothing was too much trouble!<br><br>Pasqui, Charles and Giovanni were also brilliant as was Don their handyman who fixed the leak, amongst other things.<br><br>If you want a proactive, friendly, estate agent that will sell your property then City and County are the team…well worth every penny of their fee!

Unfortunately an awful experience that would cost us over 20000 pounds so as not to lose the property we were buying<br>We were dealing with them to sell our house as part of a chain to buy a new house .<br>We signed up with them initially as they informed us they had a proposed buyer already ( which later turns out to be false and merely part of a marketing strategy )<br><br>When we signed up for them we had 6 viewings within 3 weeks , 3 of the viewings got cancelled on the same week which again raises my suspicion that they were fake appointments to give an impression of a good outcome.<br><br>We ended up with one of the viewings making an offer which we have accepted as we wanted to secure the new house.<br><br>However the buyer was exceptionally slow , it took him from june till end if September and he was still not done with instructing a reliable solicitor or finishing his paperwork .<br><br>Living through 3 months of extreme pressure from the developer and anxiety of losing the new house , city and county kept reassuring us that the buyer is serious and reliable ( all of which is false )<br><br>Numerous phone calls , numerous emails , nothing moving<br><br>At one point I asked them to arrange for new viewing and not rely on this buyer which they promised they will do , however they haven't secured even one single viewing since then .<br><br>At the end of the day , the developer of our new house was fed up and made a part exchange offer instead as they advised they had no confidence in city and county any longer .<br><br>We had to accept the new offer and lose 25000 pounds in incentives .<br><br>In summary we lived 3 months in absolute frustration and lost 25000 which we could have used for our children<br><br>I would never recommend using city and county to anyone ....unfortunately

Where to start with these. Unfortunately i've had dealings as a tenant, and then buying a home.<br><br>As a tenant they have zero respect for privacy, when in the process of moving I caught the owner disrespecting my property on camera, literally throwing some bags out of the way to get through. It's worth adding he shouldn't have been there in the first place.<br><br>Getting the deposit back was hard work. Tried charging £70.00 for a tiny burn mark in the oven, no bigger than a 20p coin, it was there the whole time. Also tried charging £70.00 for removal of a broken fridge freezer in the garden, which I was told in writing to leave outside as it belonged to the owner. £60 for a new smoke detector? The smoke detector was there on the kitchen side as it was replaced by contractor. The list went on, trying to charge for things that never existed. Bizarre. Added to insult, when going through the DPS dispute process to contest deductions, they refused to comply so it was left to either go to court to argue, or just accept it. Fortunately, I bought the deeds to the house on the Government website and sent the owner a letter. The owner demanded my desposit be refunded in full which was begrudglingly and rudely acknowledged by Helen via email. The landlord had no idea what was happening by the way.<br><br>So, buying a property. Dealing through the Crowland office. Found a perfect property and wanted to make an offer. From the day after the viewing the phone calls from the office were tediously frequent, several times a day pushing to go through the process and use their in house conveyancing team. I get that following up is important but not several times a day. Even after saying no thank you they proceeded to send quotations and leaving numerous voice mails.<br><br>Honestly, the worst bunch of estate agents i've ever dealt with. Rude, obnoxious, pressuring and simply a bunch of crooks. It's no wonder they changed their name on google a few years ago then started a new one, the reviews on there are hurrendous.<br><br>Feel free to dispute any of this, I have a solid email trail of all of the above mentioned issues.

the Crowland branch were great, all very helpful and friendly, unfortunately the same<br>cant be said for peterborough. in our 10 months of renting, the person we dealt with kept changing as everytime we rang up<br>and asked to speak to them, we were told they had left. then had to explain the situation to the next person. this happened 3 times in the 10 months. we also rented a place that was advertised as long-term, however a month after the inspection, which reported absolutely no issues as we were informed, we got told after 6 months that the landlord wanted the property back for a bit, so we had to rush to find an alternative. city and county did nothing to help us in this matter, surely false advertising, however we were more annoyed to find that 6 months later, the property was back up for rent with city and county advertising as long term again. we was asked to give a review of city and county as part of the rental application process, which we was reluctant to do, but we did. unfortunately after a bit more experience with them, that review had to change.<br>the address was harrington drive crowland

I start marketing my house for sale with city along with 8 other estate agents from Peterborough. Out of those only two estate agent were effective. and out of those two city service were best. Before they advertise this in web they start to bring people next day. They were very effective and will not force you to sell your property for lower value. They will do their best to help you to find buyer and provide excellent service. Other estate agents will lie to you about other agents and force your to sell your property for lower value. I have no hesitation to recommend City &County Peterborough. Well done team!

Stay well clear...... did not put offers over to us in writing communication was ridiculous there moto us they take the stress out of buying and selling has been the complete opposite........ rushed to make decisions so they get you locked in seemed like they only cared about the money. Do not rely on them to disclose all to you even though they are working for you to sell or buy seems that the only interest is money. Family run agents apparently and clients will be treat like family (there words) well certainly didn't happen with us they seem to struggle with the basics of following estate agency laws and codes if practices set upon them.

The duration of the process was 2 weeks from application to agreed moving in date for the reason of referencing to be validated etc. I would recommend the service to any prospective applicant looking for a Contract Tenancy Agreement.

Service was terrible Numerous times they wouldn’t respond to enquiries. I would have to inform them of issues occurring within the chain as they were unaware (yet this is what you pay the estate agents for!). completion of house sale took 7 months! I did not feel they had my best interest even though I was their client and they did not meet my needs for completion. When my concerns were voiced they were quick to blame the current pandemic for all issues and take no responsibility but are soon quick to respond when they want paying!! If you want a good service I would recommend going else where

This is by far the worst experience I have had with a letting agency. I was warned by a previous tenant (a professional I might add)- they wanted to charge him in excess of £100 for leaving buckets under the sink which was there when he moved in! From the start the customer service was appealing. The woman was quite aggressive on the phone and to summarise, I had taken issue with the fact that they left the washing machine in the garage and expected me, a young woman on my own (not that women can't but I couldn't), to put it into place and connect it up to the pipes! That was/is not my job. They also left a mouldy fridge in the middle of the kitchen! I felt so intimidated by how this City and County employee spoke to me as I don't deal with aggressive unprifessional people generally especially when that behaviour is uncalled for. Eventually she apologised however it is clear she is just a nasty person. Fast forward to leaving the property they wanted to charge me £160 for cleaning and fixing an item that was broken on moving in. It had to be taken to an adjudicator (a long drawn out process made longer by City and County's deliberate slow response time) for it to be resolved which resulted in me £120 back.<br>WARNING- take a photo of every single item on moving in, as proof, you will need it.<br>It is my conclusion that this sort of behaviour is condoned from the top. They will try to take some of your deposit regardless of how good a tenant you are and the condition you've left the property, with their bogus claim in order to get any, any amount of money from you that they can. Despicable and disgusting.

This agency manipulate buyers and sellers to achieve their own ends - which is the best financial outcome for them. If you want and expect to be treated equally and fairly, on a level playing field with all offerors - and with respect because you are a human being, my advice is do not have anything to do with City and County, Peterborough. They are devious and will bare faced LIE to get what they want. They want you to use the services from which they stand to benefit. They want you to get a mortgage through them, they probably (I don't know) push conveyancing on you if you get that far - maybe cleaning services - who knows? What I do know for a FACT they told me at least three BLATENT lies when I made an offer for a property, but didn't want their mortgage. They lied to the vendor about me and they lied to me about the vendor. I have the recordings of the calls. The lies are clear. It was ugly and it was deceptive and it was downright corruption. Their explanation to the property ombudsman was pathetic and they were ordered to pay me compensation. Don't go near them is all I can say. There are other estate agents, the profession doesn't have a great rep, but I have dealt with a few and awful people take the biscuit.
