DONT TRUST THIS AGENCY! THEY KEPT MY MONEY AND DIDNT HAVE PROOF THAT THE CLEANING WAS DONE. THEY ARE THE WORSE YOU CAN DO BUSINESS WITH IN PETERBOROUGH, . I regret so badly renting with them. We had a mutual agreement to send proof that the cleaning wasn’t carried out which was agreed by the company. But now they don’t want to send the proof so I don’t know where the money was used for really. Plus they are extremely rude.... Read more

This company has incompetent staff. I have booked to see one property, came to this property, was waiting for someone to come and show it- but no one came. I've called them and asking how long I need to wait, and they wasn't aware about this. They even didn't noted in their system about this showroom. They even didn't have my contact details. And when I asked them about that property - they told me that it is already letted. Bad service, bad personnel. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Waste of time and nerves.... Read more

The woman NICCI was the most horrible to deal with from all of the people who work there. She doesnt follow up on her actions and she does not do her job properly. She has a stinking attitude like she is above everybody else when in reality she really isnt. I would not recocommend this agent at all. They acted for us 6-9 months ago and we advertised our property and we had many offers. We decided to not sell and remain where we was. During our remortgage, the bank requested Jolliffe Daking to do the valuation. They decided that our property was £100k lower than when we sold it 9 months ago? Incompetent doesn’t come close to describe them! How can a 5 bedroom luxury property go down by 100k a year later. Every other agent confirmed they were wrong. We had to pay for a new valuation that didn’t agree with them and this was an additional cost to us! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!... Read more

Rented a bungalow for my father for a year. The whole process, from the initial enquiry to returning the keys, was excellent. Customer service was always very good and they always respond quickly and efficiently to our queries and requests for repairs, which incidentally were minor. I would definitely use Jolliffe Daking again if the need arose and I would highly recommend them as a letting agent.... Read more

We found very nice apt, good rent price, after viewing, we both went to apply for it. The lady after we gave her my partner's italian ID start to complaint about it (with mean face). She was like "oh what's that, everyone can put pic on it, I don't know, never seen it..." We started explain her that is legal document, he travel with it abroad, he have bank account a d everything is fine. After it she took photo copy. 3 days later. Guess what?? We didn't get this flat! I called them Monday, they said they didn't speak with landlord yet. Tueasday we get polite letter with NO answer, but didn't explain why... I think the lady didn't even try to contact anybody...... I rented a home from Joliffe Daking. The experience was amazing. Having rented homes in London , I have dealt with many estate agents and I must say Joliffe come out on top. They kept in complete contact with me throughout the process. During my time in renting from Joliffe a few hiccups with the property occurred but they were dealt with and sorted the same day. Personally I wish more estate agents were like joliffe. Had we not have outgrown the property, we'd probably still be there. Renting a flat from this company was an unpleasant experience from which it will take a long time to emotionally recover. For the first weekend we moved in we had no electricity because no-one at the agency could tell us where the electricity cupboard was located. This was in a cold February so we were freezing cold and had no access to hot water. The oven was absolutely filthy and so I asked the agency if it could be professionally cleaned and got no answer. This forced me to pay for this at my own cost. When the cleaner arrived he said the oven was one of the worst ovens he has ever seen! He also pointed out that it was not safe and shouldn't be used. We informed the agency and waited weeks living on microwave meals while they sorted a replacement. I was also told they would reimburse us for the oven cleaning which never happened. Over the next few months despite our best efforts to keep the flat like a show home various fixtures and fittings needed repairing. 1. The ancient bathroom fan broke meaning the noise of the fan kept us up all night for weeks 2. The kitchen light switch broke meaning the light had to stay on continually wasting electricity 3. The ancient washing machine developed a fault nearly flooding the flat 4. The taps in the kitchen didn't run properly meaning every time we needed to wash up we had to boil the kettle for hot water 5. The shower head broke so we had to hold the shower head up every time we tried to use it 6. Being situated near a river meant the flat had serious condensation problem so we had to constantly repaint walls and buy expensive dehumidifiers I also believe the condensation and mould was detrimental to my health. We let joliffe faking (sic) know of all these issues and was treated with general disdain, indifference or rudeness. They lied to us, fobbed us off and treated us like criminals. Do not make the mistake I did of thinking they will treat you any differently .... Read more

These people are LYING SCUMBAGS and COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. My wife and I stayed in one of their flats for over a year. During that time, this agency showed itself to be rude, aggressive and deliberately ineffecient whenever anything needed doing. We moved in and they showed no interest in clearly telling us where the electric meter was or how to get access to it, as it was behind a locked cabinet. We went several days without electricity until they finally bothered to tell us how to get in. We moved in with a filthy oven that was in no fit condition to be used and was deemed a health hazard by a contractor we paid to come out and see it. It took months for them to finally get us a new oven. They also displayed their favourite tactic during this time - DENY EVERYTHING. They would claim to not have received phone calls, not have received e-mails and on it went. So I was driven to the point of having to record each phone call with them, so they could not use this as an excuse going forwards. This in combination with sending them written notifications that they could not claim that they had never received. Their inspections last all of 2 minutes. When you bring up any issues to them, their staff act annoyed and like they want to be anywhere else but there with you. I pointed out some damage to the shower and was told to fix it myself with a rubber band. I pointed out developing damp and was told, "you should see some of the other flats. they are really bad." On none of these did they offer to do anything, even when our health was mildly at risk. The staff do not communicate to each other at all. I have had two different people trying to arrange inspections and having to point out to the second person that we had already arranged an inspection with the first person. They do not apologize for wasting your time or for not asking their colleagues first. During emergencies, they provide no contact number or help. The two times I needed something, they were out and in writing told me that I should just wait for office hours. They had the nerve to say this to me after the washing machine was flooding our home due to their old pipe system! Not only that they said it with a completely straight face, as though they could not understand why we would want a washing machine to not flood the property. Even then they took DAYS to get their asses in gear and do anything about it. When we moved out, they made no effort to keep us or enquire why. This despite the fact we kept the property in excellent condition and always paid our rent on time. (On the one occassion it was A DAY LATE due to a bank holiday, they decided to send an extremely threatening letter to us). They then came up with deductions out of nowhere. A small, indiscernible scratch was suddenly major damage. Also, a few crumbs were also a major issue to them as well. We had spent days having that property cleaned as well. I disputed their costs and analysis. They then played their trick I mentioned earlier. They claimed to have never received my dispute e-mail, making our efforts to recover the deducted money that much harder. When I pointed out how we had come in to their offices and given them copies of receipts for damages that we had paid for, they claimed to have no record of that either. That is right, things that we handed to them, they then probably put in the shredder or just discarded immediately. After we had moved, their staff mysteriously decided to reply to e-mails I had sent them many months to a year ago and decided then it was worth their time to answer my e-mails. Often only to say, "Glad this was sorted." A bit late, people. Under all conditions, avoid renting with these people. For your own sake. EVERYONE DESERVES BETTER THAN JOLIFFE DAKING!!! My wife and I are thrilled to now be renting with another agency, who to our shock reply to messages instantly and have had so many things fixed extremely quickly. Joliffe could learn a lesson from that. But then expecting them to do their jobs is asking too much.... Read more
