Had an amazing afternoon tea experience. It is very expensive, but worth it if you are on a vacation or special trip! You get refills of all sandwiches/scones/pastries included in the price. I asked for extra scones to take home with me to my hotel for breakfast the next morning (they were the best scones I’ve ever had with delicious clotted cream and jam) and they happily did so in a beautiful packaged box - at no extra charge. The food and service are top notch

Had a wonderful lunch here for a family members birthday. From doorman onwards all the staff were friendly and attentive. The choice of wine is staggering, I settled on a glass of Malbec, others had cocktails, again outstanding. Now the food.. what can I say? Probably the best steak I have ever had! Even though we were stuffed, we squeezed in desert! Well done to everyone!

The most wonderful, luxurious and decadent Afternoon treat in London.
This was our fifth year visiting this hotel and this one did not disappoint.
They just keep getting better. Quality of food, drinks and service at its very best.

Excellent hotel, staff so friendly, beautiful rooms. Had a magical stay . Only improvement. I would add some different room amenities in bathroom, something for a nice bath.

The interior of the hotel is fascinating. I liked my room but amenities could be improved considering the price point. This place is considered as the annex of Buckingham Palace as it is closely linked with royalty. I think the staffs considers them as Royals also thus most of their behavior is rude.

Confident in its values and service; a place where luxury is expressed with such confidence and knowledge that everyone feels right at home, instantly. The surprise is in how comfortable everyone is made to feel, as people, let alone as customers - regulars, new comers, locals, far away tourists, ladies who lunch, families with young kids…
Spacious sitting arrangement, pale gold light, live music for a Sunday lunch… Delicious food, amazing deserts.
May it never, ever change.

Absolutely loved it. Was a great experience. Customer service was great too. They were child friendly and catered for my niece who refused to eat chocolate spread (containing palm oil) sandwich, they gave her another sandwich instead. Very accommodating.

This review is for Afternoon Tea. You get what you pay for and this is the best afternoon tea. They kept bringing drinks (espresso coffee, hot chocolate made with melted chocolate, sparkling water) and food (sandwiches, scones, cakes, etc) and unlike every other tea I have been to I walked away stuff (have a large appetite, so no mean feat). Best of all there were no hidden extras, the service fee was added but no extra tips were asked for and the service was friendly throughout without being over-bearing. Would recommend. Yes it's not cheap but you get what you pay for...

Excellent, service, the people, the food was all on point, definitely will be visiting again. During breakfast they made my 3 year a very happy bunny, the menu turns into a colouring book and they also gave him some stickers to colour. The room itself, well they upgraded us which was very nice of them! Amazing, if you can book yourself in for a stay, do it!

Wonderful afternoon tea. We are not posh, so this was a once in a lifetime visit. Expensive but worth it. No, really. A really friendly welcome as soon as we walked in, and that ambience continued all the way through our visit.
The food is an exquisite medley of superbly prepared sandwiches. I have not tasted any sandwiches as good as these ever!
Portions are good, but not just that, it’s almost on as much as you can eat deal. We had seconds of everything it was so good. Our stomachs were not large enough to eat them - I know, greedy - but our remains were put in bespoke boxes to enjoy on the next day.
As a parting gift, we were given clotted cream fudge so good it could be sold on its own, to make the place another fortune.
Our waiter was very skilled, but his life was made easier because this is one of the few places that seem to have enough staff for their customers.
I only wish we could afford bed and breakfast here, so the Lottery beckons.
I strongly recommend saving up to come here.

Excellent! We tried so many different teas and have completely changed our mindset on how to make tea! The sandwiches were delicious and the cakes and scones scrummy. The staff were so kind, helpful and knowledgeable brilliant ????????

Had an absolutely brilliant lunch at the lobby and reading room. First class service, amazing food and an unforgettable experience. Fixed price Saturday lunch £72 for any three courses was great value for money at a premium London restaurant.

Why do we remember tiny inconveniences or minor drop in our expectations ; we sadly do but I’ll brush them aside as I’d prefer you to understand this is a wonderfully special hotel I’ve known since becoming a neighbour in 1991.
This was my first stay. Our two lovely nights were my birthday present to my extra special one, Frances.
I hope you’ll enjoy a stay here yourself one day. CH

Absolutely brilliant if you ever stay in the UK for a few days this hotel is definitely the place to be in my point of view the staff is very knowledgeable and polite as they also be able to provide you everything you need within there power off course the menu and high tea ? absolutely perfect

When you see Claridge's you might be reminded of another Victorian building, Harrods. Not really surprising as they shared the same architect, C.W. Stephens.
Built originally in 1812 this hotel is one of the best known in London.
The second home of aristocrats, exiled royalty and the favorite
of Ari and Jackie Onassis, it is located in the heart of the Mayfair district.

I am very fond of Claridges and have been visiting the hotel for the past 10 years, mainly because my clients love it so much. From the beautiful decor and the wonderfully appointed guest rooms, to the excellent food and the professionalism of the staff, Claridges just gets it right. My clients can be exceptionally demanding and will accept nothing but the best and the staff here never fail to exceed expectations. If this hotel is within your budget, you have absolutely no excuse not to stay here. A haven of quintessentially British grandeur, not to be missed!

We had afternoon tea for 12 including children to celebrate a special occasion. The service was so good and nice and they looked after us fantastically. Food was great and they kept bringing more. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very special. They even gave us a gift of some lovely claridges tea mugs to take away. Highly recommended.

Went to Claridge's for afternoon tea. Beautiful setting and great afternoon tea.
Superb quality, selection and very knowledgeable on gluten free as well as vegan options.
The good thing is you don't need to inform them in advance of arrival of your allergies. But I did just to make sure
Their sandwiches were delicate and light which I got a second portion.
The pastries were amazing not overly sweet.
Their scones arrived warm with a good portion of clotted cream and a mixed berry and exotic fruits jam which was so nice.
Staff were as expected to be friendly and attentive.
A great experience something to remember our tenth anniversary.

Been here for afternoon tea and loved it! Sure you can say it's expensive and you could easily find a great A.T at half price, but if you take into account the history of this place, the super special ambient (live music by pianist and violinist), the top class food and amazing service, it's just worth it. We also ordered 3 types of tea (included in price). the waiter always asked if we want some more sandwiches or sweets. Best scones and the jelly jam is just addicted! Absolutely a must at least once.

If you want to enjoy a perfect and luxury afternoon tea, this is the one.
I’ve visited here alone but it was very comfortable and never feel awkward.
I would definitely recommend you to taste all kinds of tea as much as you can. They’re all amazing.

Amazing experience. Lovely selection of finger sandwiches with a wide variety of delicious teas to accompany them. Warm scones with fresh clotted cream and Marco polo jelly before a selection of sweet treat. All served by the wonderful staff with many little touches, like a chocolate mouse to celebrate the pregnancy of my partner.

We got married and held our reception here 10 years ago this year, it is exquisite in every way and holds wonderful memories for us. We had dinner in the Foyer restaurant last night. It never disappoints. From the sweet aroma as you enter the Hotel to the food and wine which were beautiful.
As always the service was friendly, welcoming and professional. I know they aim for this high standard but when you receive it, it feels great.

Has to be my favourite hotel in London. One of the best in the world for service! The quality of staff is spot on. Even someone to take you up in an old style lift which is unchanged for decades, the last lift attendant in London. Great bar area, maybe best to book during high season, maybe breakfast by the fire reading the paper? At Christmas they always have the best Christmas tree and decorations in the main hall..... worth a look if you are passing and cant get a booking.

Excellent Self Indulging Experience. We've never been before and didn't know what to expect. The website is good but the time slot booking method just hints at conveyor belt experience. This couldn't have been further from the truth. From the moment we were greeted the experience was wonderful. Of course the food was great but the whole thing was made special by the waiting staff who were brilliant. The young lady serving my wife and I could not have been more professional or friendly and totally made our day. There was fine live music playing and actually everything was much more relaxing than envisaged. As a very special occasion it will be hard to top this if at all possible. Excellent. Superb.

I have read others reviews about the ambience and service and they are absolutely correct! The setting is gorgeous and the servers couldn’t be any kinder. From the manager to the servers to the hostess to security and doormen they were remarkable! The food, not even mentioning cost, is not very good. The steak was not special and the mashed potatoes did not leave any impressions.

Fabulous atmosphere!!! Really attentive staff and great drinks.
I've never been here before and we wanted to check it out before I left London. Owing to the fact it's near Xmas time, they had lots of lovely trees and Xmas displays which really gave you a winter feel. (I personally do not do Christmas, but I did appreciate their decor)
I would recommend both their bars as one is a great place for an informal meet with friends and the other a great place to take your in-laws or hold a business meet.

Excellent hotel with great facilities. The staff was really attentive and the attention to detail was exceptional. From the lobby to the room our experience was, as you would expect, superb. The only thing that I missed was having an available taxi rank waiting outside, but the doormen were most helpful to go back in the reception to request a taxi for us, that arrived in minutes.

I highly recommend afternoon tea at Claridge's. The service was spectacular from top to bottom. They provided an extensive selection of tea and coffee, a great variety of sandwiches and desserts, and even catered to the needs of our two young girls with coloring pencils. Specifically, our server Julius was amazing. Make sure you don't have plans to eat before or after, you will leave stuffed. We will certainly be back in the future.

Tea service here is phenomenal. They cater to your every need. Tea, sandwiches and scones will keep coming if you want them to. They will let you choose to change to a different tea if you want to. They never rush you out. They have always been gracious in accommodating allergy needs on multiple occasions. I will come back every time I'm in London for a relaxing afternoon of great tea, great service and great food - the scones with clotted cream and jelly are ambrosia!

Had a lovely time here with my husband. I had specified in my booking that I couldn't eat smoked salmon due to pregnancy and they made me a separate sandwich. They also had a great selection of decaf teas. The service was amazing!

We had lovely Chelsea Flower Show themed afternoon tea here, the service was at top standard we even felt overwhelmed by their warmly reception and both the waiter and waitress were astonishing and kind. The food were great and nice portions. This is the level of service other restaurants should learn from. Would definitely book another afternoon tea again.

I had afternoon tea here and honestly it was a let down. It was just fine. The food was good, sandwiches were nice and plentiful, but for what I paid for it was definitely not worth it. The service was spotty, and my tea was not getting refilled properly. I got two servers, and the lady who was serving me was kinda rude (the gentleman was lovely though). I had more enjoyable experience and service at cheaper afternoon tea options. If you are looking for a high end style of afternoon tea, I don't think this will be what you are looking for because I was definitely expecting a 5 star experience and this wasn't it.

Had afternoon tea with my daughter as a treat for my birthday. Couldn’t have been more special. Attendant was polite,discreet, knowledgeable and explained everything to us as the tea progressed. Accommodated my gluten free request with ease, very special cakes and treats to enjoy. Sandwiches were a delight and the scones were exquisite, being perfectly sized and not too large, like some. The Marco Polo jam was sublime beautifully flavoured and my daughters request for no fish was accepted without question. Gorgeous china, silverware and glassware, non alcoholic sparkling champagne on offer, ideal for those who do not wish to drink during the daytime. My Laurent Perrier rose perfectly chilled and again sublime.
Top class service, surroundings beautiful and staff exceptional, really lovely treat, would return again.

The only disappointing part was their selection of sandwiches for afternoon tea, I've had better elsewhere. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience. Great selection of tasty teas and delicious scones.

Visited Foyer for afternoon tea. Quite cozy, still very much classy. Not like other Foyers in 5 star hotels in London, they had ups and downs. But I assure you here you would find the very best tea experience. Perhaps I would have to admit I was lucky to have such exceptional server for us, could be different in every case like other services, I even feel like to have time to send compliment letter for her only if I know how. Other than that, their clotted cream is by far the world best, jellies and scones were very nice as well. Other dishes were moderate, especially the sandwich was almost wet. Place was little crowded.

We stayed at Claridge’s for a night and it was a marvellous experience. The hotel is gorgeous although a bit old fashioned and our room was pretty big, well appointed with a large bathroom. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and very filling. There is a well appointed gym at the hotel with staff on hand to help. There’s no pool at the moment but they are building one which is due to open at the end of 2019.

Festive Tea was an excellent experience. Champagne was very good, food and tea were excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Pricey, after all it's Claridge's, but worth it. Great fun and highly recommended.

Excellent, beautiful atmosphere. Since the first moment, you feel you're in a special place. The Fera is definitely a restaurant to try at least once in your life (it's my second time there). The food is delicious and well presented, the service is what you would expect in a royal palace. The wine is wonderful, and you can get excellent pairing with your tasting menu. The dining hall is just beautiful. I recommend it!

Loved it! Chose it for a date night and it was perfect. loved the ambience, the service, we were allowed to tweak our menu as we are Vegetarians (even though they had a Vegetarian and Vegan Menu). Will definitely visit again.

'The Duchess' is the most well balanced cocktail I have ever tried. Attentive and welcoming staff. Lovely experience overall. Probably the best service I have ever encountered. 'The Fumoir' is breathtaking! Will be returning soon!

Afternoon tea here was amazing. This is a very upmarket hotel, clearly, and this is reflected in the quality of the sandwiches, cakes and tea on offer.
Went to afternoon tea and loved it at the Ritz and at Harrods (before it changed). I feel that Claridges distinguishes itself from other highly rated afternoon tea experiences by focusing on the customer experience, which it did absolutely brilliantly. The staff were incredible in their knowledge, passion and attentiveness both in the process of booking and most importantly for the couple of hours my wife and I came to dine.
Would recommend this experience, although not cheap, well worth it no doubt

Unfortunately I forgot the name of the gentleman who served us (he was from Budapest) but I wanted to thank him for making my mum's visit to London even more special. Service was exceptional and even the gluten free tea looked just as fabulous as the "normal" one. I'm so glad I finally made it after waiting for so long to get a space!

We had the set menu, £42/person and added the snacks (definitely do this - super delicious) and the cheese board (we did this because our teenage kids were bickering, so there wasn't any rush to go home). The service was impeccable as was the food. A quick shout out the sommelier who was knowledgeable and relaxed. Good value for money especially when the food, setting and service is taken into account.

A level of service and friendliness that I have not seen matched by any hotel in the world.
I’ve been to many 5 star, luxury hotels: The Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza, Intercontinental Hong Kong, and about 10 different Four Seasons in Europe- all are luxurious and amazing, but Claridges is a cut above because of its people! You would think that a place like Claridge’s where it is very difficult to get a booking for afternoon tea would offer something out of the ordinary. Unfortunately for me and my family this was not the case. We arrived with 2 children (aged 4 and 1). Both had been asleep in the car so were a bit teary and crying. The manager in the afternoon tea area approached us and said that if the children did not stop crying we would have to leave! We eventually got them to stop after much coaxing and bribery but were offered very little help with this. When our tea arrived it was ok, nothing particularly special and the service was slow. I had to repeatedly ask for a refill of my tea.
I have now amended my rating to reflect the management’s response to my rating and separate concern in an email. The manager has acknowledged their shortcomings, recompensed us and invited us back to retry the Claridge’s Afternoon Tea experience. The response was very quick and they were apologetic. Whilst I cannot give them a 5 star rating I have increased my score because they have appreciated our disappointment and addressed it appropriately. You can’t ask for more than that from any company.

Best hotel in London IMO! Myself and my wife are Londoners born and bred and will always reccommend this truly stunning hotel. Great restaurant, food and bars, impeccable rooms and impressive staff that know how to ensure that your experience is exquisite every time. Great for afternoon tea with family or friends. The place just oozes class and sophistication! Love this hotel!

I mean it's total indulgence. Nobody needs that level of attentiveness or care. It's the over and above that sets this place apart. The staff care about what they do and how you feel. It's been the same for many years. Go here for indulgence, for treats and to be part of something a little different. Don't make it a local as you'll lose the magic.

Unfortunately I forgot the name of the gentleman who served us (he was from Budapest) but I wanted to thank him for making my mum's visit to London even more special. Service was exceptional and even the gluten free tea looked just as fabulous as the "normal" one. I'm so glad I finally made it after waiting for so long to get a space!

My mother and I were here for lunch. Loving all things Art Deco, we loved the decor in every way. We found the staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. The 3 course set lunch was a very reasonable price and enjoyable (not wow/amazing but enjoyable) but the drinks are where the costs go. I made the mistake of asking for still water not tap and a small bottle cost £7. The wine was of good quality but pretty damn expensive. Overall a nice experience but once is probably enough.

The best afternoon tea in London - and I have done a few. Exquisite service - nothing is too much trouble. The staff are knowledgeable about what they serve and will do their utmost so you have the perfect experience. Their food is consistently outstanding - I am particularly partial to their egg sandwich - they manage to elevate this simple thing to a delicacy. Their tea selection is thoughtfully chosen so there are both classic choices as well as interesting teas you could not taste anywhere else. My favourite anecdote: we were served a beautiful tea jelly with our scones, and having loved it I got curious and asked the waiter: 'which other jams would you have?', and he answered with a confident tone 'which jam would YOU like?.

Like always this hotel never fails to disappoint its customers.
Impeccable service, classy decor and scrumptious food and fine drinks makes this hotel one of the best in the world. I immensely enjoy coming back here, for just drinks, dinner and on some occasions to stay over night. Wonderful gem in London. Regards TW.

Everything is fabulous, starting with their afternoon tea, to the bar and to the restaurant.
The afternoon tea is exactly as how I imagine most people would enjoy it: impeccable service, fine china, silver teapots, and a great selection of teas, tasty pastries and wonderfully prepared sandwiches. Both young and old can enjoy the afternoon tea here.
The champagne high tea is worth recommending, but if you’re not in the mood for afternoon tea, pop in to the bar for an expertly prepared drink, or go all-out with a dinner at the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed by either of these choices...
Do dress smartly and avoid sneakers and t-shirts (not only to get better service / a table, but also for your fellow guests) as it only adds to the atmosphere.

I attended an event at Claridge's ballroom, the decor is beautiful, very classy. The food was stunning and perfectly served. Service was excellent, the waiters were very attentive, professional and friendly.
It's definitely lived up to my expectations, highly recommended.

Fantastic experience, staff were excellent and looked after our every need without making us feel as though we were being awkward. Very attentive without feeling as though they were hovering over us all the time! Cannot recommend highly enough, we had afternoon tea, and the food was delicious as well!! Expensive, sure - but you really get what you pay for. This is how it should be done, totally worth the money!!!

Stunning location, so elegant & calm. The decor is breathtaking and the food is divine. I did ask if I could take photos, but there is a no photo policy. I had a set menu lunch for a very reasonable price and enjoyed every single bite. It was like heaven on my tongue!

I was lucky enough to stay in a couple of suites including the Royal Suite.
At £2200 per night it wasn't cheap, though I'm told this was a special price. However, I can say it was absolutely worth it.
Stunning!!! Food, service, space, decor, location, ambience. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
Saw Kanye West casually, know I was in the right place!!
Restaurants are good too!
Only downside - the piano in my room was not kept tuned - I hired the suite to use the piano. So I had to tune it myself.
Otherwise great.

Had a fantastic meal with friends in The Foyer & Reading Room. Simple, traditional English classics done exceptionally well. The mash is like silk! A good selection of dishes for most tastes. The dessert menu very good too. Try and grab a drink in The Fumoir before or after your meal - if only to admire the architecture!

We have been staying at Claridge's since 1993 and on each of the many occasions we have the pleasure of staying here we have found the hotel, staff, food and beverages to be of the highest standard. The reason we regularly visit is the high standard of both the surroundings and the staff. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and professional.

I went for Afternoon Tea. I had a lot of expectations due to hearing lots of praise about it being the "best" in London; sadly, it didn't reach those expectations. Decorations were very beautiful, the tea selection was wide and full of options, and the desserts were great! However, the sandwiches are for particular tastes. And lastly, they had great scones. The service was excellent; and, the prices are what would you expect out of a 5-Star hotel.

I was at the clarifies for a party work event. The food was outside catered but, the Waiters and security/bouncers were the claridges. The whole experience was lovely with lovely staff and a clean safe posh what you pay what you get experience

Lots of different teas to taste while you eat cream tea. Live musician plays while you soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the environment. Definitely worth a visit.

Afternoon tea at Claridge's was a wonderful experience. Tasty sandwiches, delicious scones and beautiful pastries. Service from start to finish was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel so comfortable and at home. It was our third visit to Claridge's and it most certainly won't be our last. Highly recommended.

Wide and no went to Claridges for high tea. The room was beautiful and had a lovely piano layer and violinist/ chello player. We were able to sample a variety of delicious and rare tea along with pastries. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

From the moment you arrive at the entrance every member of staff from doorman to maitre de to waiters make one feel welcome and special. Luxurious elegant room and wonderful food and great service make this a really memorable experience. Live music adds to the glamorous ambience and the champagne is Laurent Perrier - one of our favourites! Exceptional treat.

This is just a review for afternoon tea. I can't rave enough about this place. I accidentally arrived a day after my reservation. I was so embarrassed and apologetic, but they sat us that day anyway! They were extremely gracious. The service was overall amazing. And so was the food. Each little sandwich was delicious. We wanted to eat more, but were so full by the time we finished the sandwiches. The scones were tasty, and every cake was sooo good. I wish we could had infinite stomachs so we could eat more! I would definitely go back to have tea at Claridge's. Except I'll actually get the reservation day correct next time.

This place is amazing for food, afternoon tea and it's service. It's respectable, clean, the service is excellent. You are treated with respect regardless of what your wearing or your background. It's not pretentious like some hotels..... Everyone is a valuable customer. I felt very comfortable here and will be coming back again :-)

An amazing stay for my wife's birthday. Everyone could not have done any more. The rooms are a good size. Shower is amazing, like being under a waterfall. We stayed and had breakfast in the main room. Was fantastic. From the doormen to the cleaners everyone was great.

For a place that stands for impeccable service, we receive appaling level of attentiveness from the staff at the afternoon tea/ dinner service. Its the holidays and they must have been busier than usual but overwhelmed is not something I expect given their reputation. Definitely not worth the spend and time.

Claridge's is located in a crowded location. Many cars parked up and drives by. The reception is amazing. People are great and very happy. I dropped a friend who were over from Egypt for a visit. They absloutely liked the place.

The waiting staff were attentive to our every needs and nothing was too much trouble. We even given a celebration gift to takeaway as a momentum of the occasion.

I attended a private seminar in the hotel meeting rooms. The breakfast and lunch that was provided was high quality, and the dining rooms were very classy. I think this is exactly what Claridge's is all about. If you are staying here I guess you will already know. If you are stopping by, it will be expensive but excellent, I am sure. This is the London that every visitor should experience

Afternoon Tea.
Simply the finest tea I've had anywhere on the world. It was well worth the £80 p.p. There is no competition at this level to compare it with. This is afternoon tea on the world stage that is worth paying for. Some of the rarest teas on the world in limited batches are served here like nowhere else on earth. Evening meals are superb and the accommodation is home. The way every home should be. Staff are brilliant at their jobs and the history is outstanding.
Those who have never had a proper cup of tea and think they have ought to make this their tea hajj.

We went here for afternoon tea after I was bought a voucher as a gift. This is a beautiful hotel, well decorated and with very friendly and attentive staff. There was a very good selection of teas to choose from. The tea, sandwiches and cakes were all lovely and you can order as much as you like. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend coming here. The toilet were nice and very clean.
