I rented from a flat from Curtis Jones a couple years ago.
I'm only writing a review now because one of my friends was considering viewing one of their flats.
I subsequently strongly advised him against it because of my experience of renting from Curtis Jones previously.
I feel it's fair to share my experience with others too, and not just my friend.
As per other negative reviews, Curtis Jones also withheld 100% of our deposit (£1,950.00) without any explanation.
All my emails received no response. Whenever I called, I got told that the manager (Irfan) was not available.
For return of our deposit, I was left with no choice but to escalate to a deposit protection scheme.
It was only when the deposit protection scheme mandated that Curtis Jones must return 100% (£1,950.00) of our deposit, that we finally received our deposit in full.
Even upon receipt of our deposit, there was still no explanation from Curtis Jones as to why they withheld 100% of our deposit.
(Note, in our case, for our deposit to be protected by the Scheme, we had to raise our claim with the Scheme within 3 months of vacating the property. I suspect that other former tenants, who experienced the same issue, may not have been aware of this timeline. Hence why other former tenants may have been forced to go through a solicitor to retrieve their deposit).
As for positive reviews for Curtis Jones, I have noticed that:
A) Of the reviewers that have written multiple positive reviews, most have written positive 5 star reviews for both Curtis Jones Estate Agents & JRK Kitchen Bayswater.
Both of these businesses are owned by Irfan.
I appreciate that this could be a coincidence, one that has just happened to occur on multiple reviews.
B) One of the Positive 5 Star reviewers has the same name as an Employee of Curtis Jones.
Again, I appreciate that this could also just be a coincidence.
C) Of the remaining Positive 5 Star reviewers, all have only ever written one review (for Curtis Jones Estate Agents).... Read more

I rented a flat from Curtis Jones one year ago and i have had excellent service from Irfan and his team. All maintenance issues were resolved quickly and my deposit was given back on the same day my tenancy ended.

SCAM !!! NEVER USE THIS AGENCY. I am still waiting for Curtis Jones to pay me back an extra month rent that they owe me (£1,450). It is the same guy who scammed customers previously, his name is Irfan and he is apparently "managing" the branch, he doesn't respond to calls or emails and this has been going on for 8 months now and I will have to go to the solicitor route.... Today is the 02/08/2016 and I'm still waiting to receive half of a rent (£700) since 16/12/2015.
