We didn't end up purchasing with David Baker due to unforeseen complication near to completion, however we feel we need to write a review on how good they're.
Most estate agents view every interaction as a single event and can be quite abrupt and unprofessional, some even lying about houses and offers and don't appreciate even if you're not a customer of theirs at this time, you could well be in the future. I'm glad to say this is not the case with David Baker.
Craig,Charles,Debbie were great - whilst they obviously put the vendor 1st, they treated every viewing & communication with us
in a very professional way.
Even though we didn't purchase with them we have already recommended them twice to friends and they would definitely be our 1st point of contact if we ever come to sell our house in Penarth in the future.
Their staff are really a credit to their company

We had our house valued by Charles because we wanted to buy ourselves out of the Help to Buy scheme. It was valued at £410,000.
Our neighbour's house, which is exactly the same, has just gone on the market for £395,000. I'm not sure why our house was valued at £10,000 more than the neighbour's; it's the same house but 10ft to the left.
I mentioned at the time that it seemed like an overvaluation. We obviously have to pay 20% of the valuation to repay the Help to Buy, so we were disappointed and still think £410,000 is a high valuation for our property compared to others on our estate.
Update: We just had our house valued, and they agreed it was significantly overvalued. We've been advised to seek legal advice regarding the poor valuation.

Their agents are personable, authentic and trust-worthy, which are seemingly rare qualities in the industry.
Their communication was prompt and clear, and they guided us through a particularly turbulent house purchase. We have just bought in Penarth through David Baker agents. Their service and staff were excellent. They were quick, open and provided accurate responses throughout the prcoess. Their communicaiton with our solicitors was lightening, which kept the process quick. Our solicitors were Lucas Law in Penarth and both reside in Station Approach, so they had a quick and excellent working partnership. Our sale and purchase took 8 weeks to the day. They were also very accomodating with regards to follow up visits for us to measure up and allow builders in to complete surveys.
Upon completion, they also provided us with a much needed starter pack/hamper. Whilst everythign was still boxed up, it provided fresh, local ground coffee, local welsh chocolates, and welsh cakes. Hand sanitiser, some mugs and more. Its was a wonderful touch to complete our move.
We highly recommend David Baker agents in Penarth. We mainly dealth with Craig and Debbie but the whole team are fantastic.

Estate agents get a bad rep! And rightly so, as some of them are complete shysters. Not so the team at David Baker & Company. They have hit on a winning formula, balancing age and experience, with youth and enthusiasm, for the property market. Quite simply they do a cracking job for people buying and selling property in Penarth.
Every single aspect of the sale of my house was managed professionally, from the constant contact and checking about viewings, through to the showing of the house, and finally on to selling the property whilst being constantly kept informed of progress.
Two special mentions: Hannah who had to deliver bad news when a potential buyer pulled out, but did so with grace and good humour, and then continued to deliver perfect viewing experiences for other potential buyers. And Craig who was an absolute superstar throughout. He kept me informed at every stage; provided reassurance when necessary, and always went the extra mile to sort every little detail out. He made what could have been an extremely stressful experience seem easy!

Without doubt, quite the best house purchase experience I've ever had, and I've moved a lot over the years! I’ve both sold and bought a house with David Baker over the last nine months. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I was kept fully informed throughout the various twists and turns of the house selling/buying process, and incidents such as buyers pulling out were dealt with frankly, with the house going back in the market swiftly and without fuss. The support David Baker provided throughout was exceptional.
There were no ‘hard sales’ tactics like experienced with other Penarth estate agents - the house was honestly appraised and valued by Craig (twice as it happened, thanks to covid), and we weren’t badgered with phone calls afterwards.
The way viewings are arranged and confirmed is transparent and they were always completed in a timely manner.
Overall, I cannot praise their involvement in either sale highly enough. We dealt with Hannah for both the sale and the onward purchase, and she was always on the end of the phone, guiding us through the process.
When we were about to put our property on the market, it seemed that every other ‘for sale’ sign we saw in Penarth was a David Baker one. Now I know why! I’ve dealt with nearly all of the established estate agents in Penarth over the years, and David Baker is by far superior.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this company? I only bought through them but their passion and commitment to help me move from London to my dream home in Penarth was outstanding. I started viewing before Covid 19 and they have been completely knowledgeable, honest, hardworking, enthusiastic and committed to the safety measures needed throughout the process. They were so quick to respond to any queries. It doesn't really matter who answers the phone, as they are all so well informed as to what is going on across the board. The estate agent I sold through in London was not so good, so I doubled the work load of poor Craig. Hannah, Charles, Liz and David; you are all amazing but I have to pick out Craig, as I dealt with him mostly.
