Featherstone Leigh tried very hard to sell the property but at the moment it has been proved difficult to sell anything. Of the three agents involved in trying to sell the property they were by far the best in getting prospective clients to visit the flat and the information they gave to the clients. They are also very pleasant to work with.

The communication with Richard Porter was very good and he was always very helpful and proactive chasing the evolved parties to make sure the process would run smoothly and as quickly as possible.
Even after the sale, Matt Aboud was very kind to help with some communications with the previous owner and tenants.
Although buying a property is a long and bureaucratic, all went really well.

We viewed a property with Featherstone Leigh the other day, the poor guy showing us round was clueless, he had zero knowledge of the property, area, seller’s position, etc. he was basically there to open the door! Value add zero. The property was a definite no, which I had to feedback to the office twice, due to lack of communication. Featherstone Leigh you’re not helping the reputation of estate agents!!!

They have excellent knowledge of the local area and the current situation in the property market – our house sold the day after an open house event! This is now the second time I have used FL and have just completed on the sale of a house through them. Despite all of the disruption caused by the fourth wave of the pandemic they were able to source a buyer on first viewing. They delivered yet again.
Featherstone Leigh achieved more in one day through the sale of my property than another very well known competitor was able to do in 3 months. Excellent service, no hassle. I highly recommend them.

Myself and my flatmates found Featherstone Leigh to be very, very poor in the managing of our rental period spanning 3 years.
A severe lack of professionalism in both communication (breaching GDPR by including random email addresses alongside or instead of those relevant, poor responsiveness to maintenance issues including a lack of hot water or the need for pest control, as examples) and attitude (coming for viewings of the property without the consent or knowledge of those staying in the property and then being rude and defensive when challenged) frustrated us greatly throughout our time with them, and there appears to be a negligence in their responsibilties for those renting through them.
In ending our tenancy, they did not appear to be aware of the requirement to provide invoiced evidence of anything chargeable, and when challenged on the absurd cost of deep-cleaning they provided an email-contained text breakdown that didn't contain adequate detail before stating we could not procure another company to conduct the clean and these prices were final.
Poor all-round, in essence, and disappointing to see such low standards be so evidently acceptable with an organisation such as this. Stay away.

We marketed our house with Matt Aboud and the team at Featherstone Leigh in Kingston and initially could not find anything ourselves so were not able to proceed with any of the offers they got for us.
We removed our house from the market but Matt called us a few months later with a house we were keen on. He was right, we put ours straight back on the market and FL were able to secure us an offer enabling us to be proceedable on the house we purchased.

We obviously don't have anything to compare with, but from our perspective everything went really smoothly, from the first viewing (where we were shown around by a lovely young man called Stephen who was enthusiastic without being over-bearing) all through to completion.
Featherstone Leigh were always quick in passing on any questions we had and getting answers. They also provided prompting which was helpful whenever we'd forgotten to do something, or if our solicitor was being slow.
We were mostly in the hands of Matthew Aboud, who was great. Very professional, very responsive and nicely enthusiastic when it became clear things were going well.
All this meant we completed in good time and are now very much enjoying our first home.
We would highly recommend this company for the overall experience.

Unfortunately I have been a tenant in a property managed by Feathertstone Leigh for 2 years and I have had errors and non-responsiveness nearly every time I have been in touch with them. If they are not getting a fee from the process they will to the utmost to not respond to you, having to chase them numerous times for each issue. Engineers turning up unannounced (during coronavirus, too), and then when contacted to let them know they would put the blame on the engineer. When originally signing contracts with them, they sent our documentation to two other people on two separate occasions. Constant spelling errors in contracts. When we left the property we were told to leave the keys in the office and the letting agents would contact the new tenants to arrange them collecting them the next day however I then had the new tenants contact me as they had received no contact from FL and were worried about how to access the property as their office had closed for the evening. The next day when they moved in FL gave them the incorrect keys twice. These are only a few of the many issues I have encountered and with them. They have consistently been so unprofessional and having lived in numerous rented properties this is the worst experience I have ever had with a letting agent. If you are a landlord and looking for someone to manage your property horrendously and never respond to your tenants then look no further.

Matt and his team did a fantastic job of selling our house. Another agent had got it under offer but they did nothing to push the sale through and it eventually collapsed. Within days of putting it on the market, Featherstone Leigh had it under offer at asking price. They then worked tremendously hard to get the sale through, chasing buyers and solicitors. I really couldn't recommend them highly enough. We also rented our house through them and again the service was faultless. If you're thinking of selling your house, I wouldn't consider going to any other agent. Featherstone Leigh know the market inside out, they will know what price you will get and they will push a sale through.

AVOID USING RICHARD AT ALL COSTS.
Being part of a chain, i cannot begin to tell you the number of headaches and unnecessary issues we encountered as a result of buying a house through Richard at Featherstone Leigh. His attitude was so lackadaisical it was literally like he was asleep the whole time. Whilst pleasant enough when you meet him, meeting or actually talking to him was neigh on impossible. Communication and a sense of urgency are two essential skills he lacks which when you’re in a chain, is a real red flag. He never kept us updated on how things were going from the sellers perspective, he never communicated to the sellers what we had just agreed, and he even spoke on behalf of the sellers telling me things like the sellers “definitely won’t provide you with electrical certificates” without even asking them. He was so incredibly bad that my wife and I were about to cancel the sale as we had heard nothing back and presumed the sellers were just not serious about moving. Fortunately our estate agents (Bairstow Eves in Archway – sensational team) that we used to sell our previous home were absolutely fantastic and saved the deal as they went above and beyond to help chase him up on outstanding issues. Between us we had 4 people trying to reach out to him. Extremely unprofessional and extremely inept. One example (and there are many) came when we had agreed a completion date on a Thursday with our buyers, solicitors and with Richard. Monday came around and we hadn’t heard anything from Richard for a while so all 4 of us then chased (as we often did), as we did almost daily, to check if everything was still okay. “oh they can’t do Thursday, they’re going on holiday on Wednesday – they want to complete 2 months from now instead.” I can’t begin to explain the unnecessary stress Richard caused - we had to move our entire house into storage to ensure we didn't lose our sale and then rent in the interim as we waited for the sellers to return from their holiday that we had zero knowledge about. Were it not for the fact Featherstone had our dream house on their books, we would have walked away. I urge everyone reading this to seriously re-consider using Featherstone Leigh but if, like us, they just happen to have your dream house AVOID using Richard at all costs. I can only but recommend the staff of Featherstone Leigh in Kingston-upon-Thames. I was looking for an apartment in Kingston and the nearby area and everything went smoothly and quickly with the help of Rachel and other members of the staff. They use digital processes for signing papers and it saves you a lot of time. There happened to be an emergency issue with a lock once, so even if the apartment was managed by the owner who was unreachable at the moment, Rachel and her colleague came immediately for help and organised the rescue. When i was considering applying to a Masters program and moving to the UK from the US, the most intimidating part was deciding where I would live. I would be living by myself and wouldn't know anyone. Can't really review them as such, but I do think my reasons for leaving this are reasonable.
If you can't get the customer's (my) name right in any of the 4 e-mails you send, and all four of those e-mails had glaringly obvious mistakes in them, you can't really expect people to trust you with their money.
Happy to say that I managed to avoid using their actual services, so I can't really review them as such.

Our experience with Featherstone Leigh was nothing but positive, and I would thoroughly recommend them. It took several months from when we had our initial valuation to making the decision to place our house on the market, and throughout that period Matt kept in touch with us without being pushy in anyway! Once we made the decision, the team were great at managing the viewings process for us, and ensuring that it wasn't disruptive for our young family. They managed the offer process really well, getting us what we had been looking for, and then marshalled us all the way through to completion and into our new home. Incidentally it was Matt who was also able to give us some advice on new areas to look at!
Moving house is never enjoyable, but Matt and Selina certainly made in bearable, and we wouldn't hesitate to go back to them again in the future.

In February 2014 my wife and I decided to sell out four bedroom home in Kingston and signed a contract with a local estate agent. In early April we had our open day and waited for a buyer to come in - about 5 couples attended and there was one offer which quickly disappeared. We were informed that being close to Easter had not been helpful and we should stay calm. Why did they not advise this when we suggested that as the open day date in the first place? We did remain calm and the number of people coming round for viewings was one or two a week but people seemed unsure what they wanted. The estate agent finally secured a buyer but then things stalled as our buyer was in a difficult divorce and there were complications. June went by and then July slipped by and our frustration with the situation grew. Our estate agent was doing her best but we were all at the mercy of divorce proceedings and little could be done (apparently) . Though out this process we would get occasional calls from Featherstone and Leigh who were surprised that we were still in the house 6 months on. Frustrated by the situation we agreed to meet with Matt and Sophie of Kingston branch of Featherstone and Leigh. They were professional and sympathetic but felt they could do better. It was a Thursday afternoon they claimed they could get a photographer round the next day, put our details on line Saturday and buyers through the door Monday morning. They also were confident they could get the sale completed within a six week period. We decided to take a chance and go with Featherstone and Leigh. Everything Sophie and Matt said happened!.....as we were on line that weekend and we had three buyers through the door Monday morning and an improved offer that day. We were delighted that things had suddenly taken a turn for the better grabbed the offer and began planning our exit. Through out September Featherstone and Leigh were supportive and in contact they made sure that things progressed and the folks in the office were always friendly and aware of what was going on. In October we actually moved. There is little doubt for us Featherstone and Leigh in Kingston turned things round and helped us move forward with our lives. Next time when I have any dealings with the property market it will be through their offices.

I was a little disappointed with the initial valuation of my flat as other sources had quoted a higher figure. We compromised on a higher figure and in the event the property received an even higher offer.
However, I was kept well informed of the progress of the sale.
The purchaser and myself came to an agreement over the finer points of the service charge which we submitted to the solicitors to expedite the sale.

We've just completed on our house purchase with Featherstone Leigh and having bought and sold a few properties, this was definitely the best experience we've had. I was really impressed with Selina who was always professional, friendly and efficient. The house was purchased as a buy to let and Selina arranged for it to be viewed (with the sellers permission) by potential tenants before it had exchanged. As a result, Featherstone Leigh found tenants before completion and they are due to move into the house in two weeks time. Featherstone Leigh acted for us for the sale of a property in Kingston in 2013. 6 local agents were approached who between them valued the house between £550k and £750k -so much for experts! Matt from Featherstone Leigh pitched the price at what we felt was a realistic value at the time, we felt confident that he knew the market and he was astute enough to negotiate on the fee for the sale (otherwise they would not have been engaged). The selling process proved more complex than we envisaged because of buyers making offers which they subsequently could not fund. Each time things stalled Matt gave us good advice and each time we returned to the market we did so at a higher price .The house was finally sold at £60k more than the original asking price with much of the credit going to Matt for his skill negotiating with prospective buyers and weeding out time wasters.
Communication between us and Matt were excellent, to the extent that he replied to an e-mail from me while he was on holiday abroad and on another occasion at 11.00pm on a Saturday night. I don't usually writer reviews but credit where it is due, anything to do with buying/selling a house is stressful and Matt at Featherstone Leigh certainly lightened our load.
