We moved to Giraffe Residential after having an extremely difficult experience with a previous letting agent.
Our properties and tenants had not been managed as we would have wished and there were many maintenance issues to sort out.
When Giraffe Residential got involved things began to change quickly.
They were always responsive and supportive. Their knowledge of lettings and the regulations relating to property letting is excellent.
They offered advice and guidance at every stage of the process of getting our properties back on an even keel.
We would not hesitate to recommend Giraffe Residential to anyone looking for a reliable letting agent to manage their rental properties, they are excellent.... Read more

Giraffe managed my let property for 2.5 years after I decided to move away, and they were fantastic from start to finish. They made everything easy, provided a great service and were always at the other end of the phone or email whenever I had a query. They were always extremely quick to support and find tradespeople to fix any repairs reported by my tenants and always provided a detailed inspection report after every visit. The team are extremely professional and treated me like I was their only customer, even though I only had one property registered with them. When I decided to sell my property, again Giraffe provided an exemplary service and we very quickly accepted an offer on our property. Throughout the sale they have been in constant contact, giving us updates and chasing Solicitors so that we didn't have to. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to let out their property!... Read more

We have used Giraffe Lets for many years now and can 100% rely on the team to source quality tenants for our small property portfolio in Newcastle. Their range of support services are especially useful for us, as we are resident in Spain, and not able to be hands on with our property maintenance and management. Victoria is always very professional, responsive and a pleasure to deal with and Babs has also been extremely supportive over the years.... Read more

Giraffe Lets provided me with an exceptonal service from start to finish. Babs provided fair valuations and did not over promise neither on timescales nor valuation.
Victoria the Sales Negotiator spent time taking photo's of the property which made the property look so homely, it was no wonder it sold within five days of the 'For Sale' board being erected.
Also, any queries I had regarding the sale were answered extremely fast by Victoria, and always in a professional manner.
I can honestly say I would recommend Giraffe Lets to anyone wanting a committed and knowledgeable team to advise them with regards selling their property.
Many thanks to you all.... Read more

We are so impressed with the service we have received from Giraffe Lets. We are two new professionals that were looking to start renting in a sought after area. It was a really busy time for us, but Laura and the rest of the Giraffe Lets team made the process really smooth and easy with their professionalism and their quick responses between us (tenants) and the landlord. The administration was completed in a timely manner, which allowed us to have our desired overlap with our current tenancy agreement. We really appreciate the efforts of the team making it a swift process from viewing to moving in.... Read more

Great for duration of rent until move out date... did final inspection and took meter readings. Then they tried to make us liable for a gas and electric bill AFTER we moved out. Thankfully energy company managed to sort it out but I would never deal with this company again! Always get an end of tenancy agreement signed and write meter readings on it-want provided one. Thankfully we had photos as proof of everything but unnecessary hassle a year later. Would not recommend
Edit: this review is not in error, we already contacted you with the error and were told it was our responsibility, your company refused to provide proof of move out date. Thankfully the energy company saw through the lies...... Read more

I have had the worst experience with Giraffe Lets. My partner and I thought we had found a perfect place to move into. We went to the viewing and stated we could move in at the end of August when our current tenancy ended on our current rental property. This meant that we had been upfront and honest on two occasions informing our preferred move on date. There was no issue flagged up on the phone or at the viewing and the estate agent suggested we would be the ideal tenant. After viewing the property, we went straight to Giraffe Lets to fill out application forms and shortly after put the holding deposit down the following day. We completed all tenancy tests and everything seemed to be fine. The holding deposit means absolutely nothing and I cannot state this enough - it holds nothing.
A few days later, we received a call stating that unless we could move in on August 1st, we would lose the property. We received notice of this at 4:30PM which is 1 hour before Giraffe Lets closed and just 30 minutes before our current estate agent closed up for the day. Also, I told the estate agent who I spoke to that it was my grandfathers funeral the following morning but I was told that regardless (and with absolutely no sympathy) that we needed to sort it by tomorrow morning. If we had moved in then we would be paying rent on two properties at once. As this was so close to closing, we immediately contacted with our current estate agent (Your Move - who have been faultless and the perfect estate agent) to request to end the tenancy early, they accepted and told they would write it up for the following day. We had this all sorted and rang back. After all of the stress and hassle this caused, it did appear that we would be able to move in on 1st August as had been requested by the landlord and estate agent. However, upon calling Giraffe Let’s to confirm, we were to be told that now the landlord wanted us to move in mid-July as there has been lots of interest on the property. They told us that we should have a “cross over period” to move from our current property to the new one. This cross over period would cost us in excess of £350 (whilst also paying rent on our current property!). The stress on top of having a funeral the following day of a close loved one was awful - I was in tears and my partner was incredibly frustrated seeing me so upset over something that we had worked hard to sort out. The estate agent provided no support or help to us as tenants.
We received a call the following morning at 9am to apologise from the manager. This was appreciated but again I did not feel there was a willingness listen to some of the concerns I raised. For example, I reported how I felt some staff lacked compassion not only for the circumstances surrounding the funeral but also, due to the fact that we had to arrange to end our current tenancy agreement early. This would mean that we would be without a property 4 weeks than we had otherwise intended to do so upon the advice and instruction of Giraffe Lets. There we also remarks such as ‘I think a lot of bridges had been burned between you and members of staff’ seeming to suggest that it was our fault for the current situation and therefore, it was best that we did not proceed with the tenancy. This was despite having paid the holding deposit, being able to pay the remaining deposit and upfront rent immediately and lastly, also satisfying the estate agent and landlord by moving our move in date forward three weeks.
The phone call also came on the morning of my grandads funeral - and the estate agent requested to speak with me so the holding deposit could be released back to us, on the morning of the funeral! We are now sticking with our current more reliable, kinder estate agent, and regret ever stepping foot in Giraffe Lets. Do not bother commenting to tell me to contact via email - I never want anything to do with this company again but wanted to share my experience to warn others!... Read more

Possibly the worst estate agents in the city. Never had a more awful experience dealing with a letting company to date. From the oddly common house visits, to the weird rules like ‘don’t use radiators to dry your clothes and try not to use them at all’ during the middle of winter. Robbed me and my partner of £400 as we apparently left damage to the property, even after the fact the property was checked TWICE before we moved out and no issues were found. Just to add one of the items was a toilet seat we supposedly ‘broke’ or needed replacing, which they priced at £90! We found the EXACT toilet seat was actually £15 in B&M’s. They put us in such a horrible predicament that I was forced to move in with my partners parents in a tiny 3 bedroom house. Me and my partner spent time, money and effort to look after the property and took time to re-paint every room and get every carpet professionally cleaned before moving out. So you can imagine our surprise when Giraffe Lets got in touch with us to tell us the landlady is claiming £400+ for damages! We offered to pay around £250 if I remember correctly, which was after saying no a bunch of times as I refused to believe we left any damage, especially over £400!? But in the end because I was working 12 hour shift patterns and my partner was extremely busy running her business she had just started, we ran out of time and the landlady got the £400 in default. Admittedly we were relatively new to renting, however we were surrounded by family and friends that weren’t and even they were shocked at the way this company treated us.
If I was to advise anyone, stay away from them or at least make sure you cover yourselves in every aspect because if they can take advantage, they will. Also quick shoutout to Roxanne, single handily the WORST estate agent I’ve ever spoken too. Not even sure if she listened or took note of a single word me and my partner said to her, whether it be a complaint (which was extremely rare) or even in a conversation. Awful.... Read more

Steven and all his team at Giraffe financial were fantastic at organising our mortgage renewal for our home in Newcastle. Steven and his team took the time to fully explain the renewal process and go through our mortgage options. As this was our first renewal following having a two year fixed rate mortgage we felt the renewal process was all a bit of a minefield. However, Steven and his team explained the process and we felt they were supporting us every step of the way. They made the process seamless and stress-free. Thank you again!
