We were dealing with Donna Distin. Donna was great, she was very cooperative, professional and understanding, especially when my partner and I had to postpone the agreed move in date by a week due to personal circumstances. Donna sees the value in having a good tenant, and that can be a rare quality amongst estate agents. I gave one star less because the flat was not cleaned properly and some things need fixing, but that's with the Hindwoods repairs team, not Donna - she did her part great!... Read more

Donna has been helpful since we moved into our new rental. She has been quick in replying to any email queries I have and has helped with the tricky parts of the process that we weren't too sure about. So far, so good!... Read more

Hindwoods is the worst letting agency I have ever encountered. I’m not sure if they are woefully understaffed or simply don't care.
On one occasion, we had an emergency in our building. We contacted their reception repeatedly, to seek help. Despite leaving multiple messages over the course of the afternoon, at 5pm their staff all went home, without calling us back or helping us fix the problem (which they easily could have done, all we needed from them was a contact for the separate company that managed the building). Their carelessness left us without power in the middle of November.
On another occasion, we discovered that water was leaking into the wall, behind our shower tiles. We informed Hindwoods, who sent a builder. The builder left a huge hole in our bathroom wall and didn’t return to fix it for nearly eight weeks, and only after we told Hindwoods we would be seeking a reduction in our rent as compensation.
I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but for Hindwoods I’m making an exception. Avoid this company if you possibly can.... Read more

My experience with Hindwoods was excellent and this was in large part thanks to Christine On. Christine was excellent and judging by other reviews, she is so consistently.
I had readied myself for, what I expected to be, a stressful life event but, Christine made the whole process so smooth and easy with her lovely warm personality and excellent communication throughout the process.
I'm grateful to Christine and the team at Hindwoods every time I enter into my lovely new property.... Read more

Shocking experience. Met with opposition every step of the way trying to rent a place off of these people, including:
- Waiting a week to view
- Inability to send out offer forms the day of the viewing
- FORGETTING to send out the offer forms and having to chase
- The offer forms being confusing and, ridiculously, locked PDFs
Then, shockingly, this was just the start. The staff have NO knowledge of European right to rent legislation and DEMANDED a visa from my European partner DESPITE her passport qualifying her for the right to rent, something that can be googled inside 5 minutes. The agent I was talking to throughout the process flat out REFUSED to entertain our offer based on her total misunderstanding of legislation.
Amazingly I was told my partner needed an NI number to have any chance of renting. When I asked "So what do Europeans do when they come to live in the UK?" I was told with impressive confidence that "Europeans stay with friends and family for 6 months before they rent for themselves normally". Absolute tosh; I couldn't believe I was hearing an adult peddle this utter nonsense, let alone a supposedly professional lettings agent. My attempts to mediate and express doubts were brushed away with sheer arrogance. To the staff member we dealt with (who I shan't name), if you do ever read this, perhaps ask yourself how me and my partner managed to both get on put on a lease a week after you said it wasn't possible. Maybe you might learn something?
Despite me offering the entire year of rent up front our offer was rejected and no reason was given. We wasted hours on trying to work with utterly incompetent staff who, quite frankly, could not be bothered to attempt to work with us. Reading the reviews it would appear we dodged a bullet here; I strongly recommend you do the same.
Do not invest your time on these people. They will waste it for you.... Read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR SACRIFICE YOUR FLAT
Having read the reviews, I thought the private renting would be handled differently. WRONG!!
- They tell you to sort it yourself
- The repairs team do not reply to emails.
- If you call they are 'all away from their desks.'
- If you do get a repair its cheapest quick fix they can find.
- They make promises they don't keep
- They blame contractors for delays, when they've done nothing.
- Richard the manager is a ghost that you can never get a hold of.
- Judith is a dismissive piece of work that seems to know very little about properties or tenant law
If I were a landlord I would go above and beyond to ensure Hindwoods had nothing to do with my property.
Having rented in London for best part of 5 years, managed by a range of estate agents (big and small) this has by far been the worst experience of my life!!!
Sadly - we couldn't give no stars... Read more

I can't speak for their sales team or their ability to advertise properties to let, but this is without a doubt the worst estate agents for property management I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
To start off, their property manager, Richard Gibbons, is a ghost -- he'll respond via email but it is impossible to get that man on the phone. In addition to this, he is terrible at responding to anything in a timely fashion. He has received 2 emails over the last week requesting a tenancy reference, which he has failed to respond to and has delayed our application for tenancy at a new property to the extent that we may now lose it.
Also, the rest of the staff are extremely rude. When we called to ask if there was anyone else who could possibly provide the reference we need, we were bluntly told that only Richard could as he is the property manager and that he's out until Monday so we would just have to wait. Considering we have already been waiting a week due to his inability to check his emails and respond to them, I found their attitude and unwillingness to do anything astoundingly incompetent.
The final, and most important, aspect of their incompetence is that of their unwillingness to deal with the issue of a violent tenant. After my partner and I were both attacked by her (grabbing us round the throat, hitting us, screaming death threats), we contacted Richard Gibbons who said that they would not be getting involved or informing the landlord and, if we wanted anything done, then we would have to contact the police. This I found plain disgusting -- they're risking the safety of their other tenants because they don't want the hassle of having to deal with evicting and replacing one who makes lives hell for others and makes them fear walking around their own home.
If you have the possibility of avoiding business with them, I would strongly advise you to do so. They're a complete disgrace. And if I could give them less than 1 star, I would do so.... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
