Great lettings team ! Jade Clements remained professional throughout the viewing. Also the communication between Jade and Adam was very good from start to finish! They were very helpful and helped us move into our lovely flat very quickly. Overall great experience from Acorn. Would definitely recommend!
I am renting a property with Acorn and have received nothing but poor service. When paying the deposit I was assured all work would be carried out that was required (loose floor boards, vomit and faeces on walls, severe mould and damp problem) before the moving date, this date came and went with no keys forcing us to stay in hotels until they finally handed over the keys.
We got into the flat and nothing had been done ,not even cleaned professionally despite being part of the fees they charge. After this the flat flooded due to a neighbour leaving taps on, and it's taken 6months for the work to be carried out to fix the damage to the bedroom.
The agency are very poor at replying to emails just get passed between people and have been unprofessional from the start.
I dealt with Arikson Franco for the purchase of my property. He was very professional, committed and reliable. He is a great professional who has shown an outstanding sense of service (always available by phone and email, ensures that the process moves forward, kept us informed when needed etc.). I will definitely consider him if I sell in the future.
Sold two properties through Acorn Catford and have always found the selling process to be well managed and consistent from start to finish. Valuations were accurate and realistic rather than over inflated, viewings were always conducted with adequate notice and respect to the properties and any offers that were put forward to me were backed up with sufficient checks that the buyers were able to buy.
All in all I have been very happy the experience I have had with Acorn Catford and would not hesitate to recommend them as my agent of choice.
I like Roy Brooks. Good team of people. They sold me my Peckham home, and then resold it for me 5 years later. They are independent and professional with a personal service. I recommended them to a friend and they've just sold her house too.
I rented a property in South East London through Roy Brooks with two friends in August 2014. We were initially happy with the service we received when finding the property but unfortunately the experience of being property managed by Roy Brooks ended up causing us extreme stress.
We had to refer all issues with the property to our contact at Roy Brooks who would then pass them on to our landlord (who owned 300 properties). Early on, we noticed a problem with the roof leaking and had water running down the walls of two bedrooms which then led to the rooms becoming very mouldy. Despite reporting it straight away, this wasn't repaired for months. There was a total breakdown of communication as the landlord would not be co-operative and Roy Brooks had no power to effect any change themselves. To us, it seemed completely unacceptable that they would offer a property management service and then repeatedly tell us there was nothing they could do about the situation.
We ended up living with a leaky roof and with mould affecting our health and damaging our property for ten weeks, all the while having to constantly write emails and phone Roy Brooks to try and get something done about the problems. We were often made to feel as if we were being unreasonable or a nuisance for wanting the issue to be solved. This also occurred when we asked for 24 hours notice before contractors or the landlord would come to the house. On several occasions, the landlord who I personally never met throughout the tenancy let himself into the house without our consent on less that 24 hours notice with Roy Brooks's approval.
Eventually we were told that the landlord had 'agreed to end our tenancy early', so we were effectively asked to leave for complaining too much about the house not being in a fit state. Roy Brooks offered to waive agency fees in finding us a new property but we decided not to use them again after our terrible experience.
If you are looking to rent with Roy Brooks (or any other agency) I'd strongly recommend checking out who your landlord is and if they are a business or own hundreds of properties I'd steer well clear - these landlords do not care one bit about the well being of the tenants.
*EDIT 13/04/2015: In response to the reply from Roy Brooks, you most certainly did manage the property that I'm referring to, I can supply evidence if necessary, and visits took place repeatedly at less that 24 hours notice. I can also provide evidence of my requesting 24 hours notice and the agency's reply that this is "not always possible".
Highly recommended. I bought my first flat through Winkworth ED and more recently sold it via them to fund a move to a bigger property. As a first-time-buyer they were really considered and helpful. Guided me through the process and were honest and straightforward throughout. They didn't spam my inbox or drag me round loads of unsuitable properties - simply took the time to really understand what I was looking for and found me the ideal flat without any hassle. When I sold up, they took all the effort out of the process. They worked seamlessly with the lawyers, explained all the details and kept me regularly updated. They're a highly professional team and I will be going straight to them if I ever move back to East Dulwich.

Highly reccomend this office. I worked with Alex who handled my complicated chain very well when selling and provided better updates than my solicitor. Couldn't have got through this without the help of the team!
I must say that my experience with KFH Catford has been one of the best of my renting life to date; Clement would have to be the proverbial 'man of the match' as he kept in contact with me after searching elsewhere hooked me back in and made sure I had seen what is now our home which is perfect for us. The rest of the team were great too and showed nothing but professionalism and friendly demeanor through out the entire process and were more than patient when we hit a couple of bumps on the road. If you hadn't realized this by now concerning KFH, I'm a fan. Thanks guy's!
