My parents recently sold our family home through Home & Away estates, and we were very impressed with their service, especially given some unexpected challenges with our buyer. The ladies at Home & Away were absolutely fantastic in navigating these hurdles and ultimately getting us to a successful sale. Their communication was excellent – we always felt in the loop and well-informed. What truly stood out was their proactive approach to resolving any issues that arose. Even during the most trying times, the team remained warm, friendly, and professional. We are incredibly grateful for their expertise and support.

I had an appalling experience with Home and Away Properties that I feel compelled to share. I was scheduled for a house viewing at 10:30 AM, but unfortunately, I had to spend the night at the hospital due to my father's car accident, which was not his fault. As a medical student with a busy schedule, I called the agency to rearrange the viewing, expecting understanding and professionalism.
Instead, I was met with rudeness and complete lack of empathy from Lorraine, one of their agents. She sarcastically remarked that if I hadn’t missed the viewing, I would have had a chance to make an offer, implying that my father’s accident made me undeserving of the opportunity. Her main concern seemed to be the lost chance at the property, not the serious situation my family was facing.
Such behavior is not just unprofessional—it’s inhumane. If this is how Lorraine conducts herself, it speaks volumes about the ethos of Home and Away Properties. I strongly advise anyone—whether you're a prospective tenant or a landlord—to steer clear of this agency. Their disregard for customer service and lack of basic decency is shocking and unacceptable.

We was tenants with Home and Away for three years and honestly, that was the most worst experience in my life. The owner was far too rude. She was promise many thing just to make you get the property and then can't be bother to do what she promised. She organised viewings and came with people while my husband was sleeping after night shift. Entering in his room while he's sleeping....no comments!!! Because we left the house in perfect condition, she has nothing to charge me for- she get £100 from my deposit just because the grass in the garden was 5 cm long. Business lady like " Middle East " style! Run away from this people!

Let me begin by saying our fault was not being present during the initial inventory check. When we moved in somethings where quite literally glued on to pass the checks. Apparently the person doing the check didn’t check if they worked or not. We were penalised for things that were absolutely not our fault. Secondly the most patronising rude staff ever!! They kept scheduling viewings and asking us to be the tour guides. Sometimes not informing us there would be more than one person viewing the property. So would have 3-4 people in and out. All with child with a disability living at the property they were the most ableist bunch of people I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing.
Another point is some of the positive reviews are from their staff…
When called out for their rudeness and horrible behaviour become very rude and vindictive. Such as refusing to do a reference.

Overall poor. Inventory wasn’t done in our presence when moving in AND moving out.
A range of “issues were found” when we vacated the property, some of which were charged and taken from our deposit unfairly.
Some issues were reported during the stay which were never addressed to our disappointment.
Appointments with new tenants being booked with little to no notice at all. Some within 4 hours to the time of viewing.
Treated like absolute 3rd class citizens by a company that clearly has no regards for tenants.
Note to new tenants: stand your ground, be present to inventories, report everything you deem isn’t right and don’t let them bully you.
Update: “17 years in business” and 3 stars out of 5 from 70 reviewers should tell you a thing or two about the state of their “business”

I was a tenant with them for 1,5 years and the service from beginning to the end was very good.
Whenever we had an issue due to fair wear and tear, Lorraine was always very responsive to communicate with the Landlord and coming back with updates. I would rent another flat with them definitely.
The only bit we had a misunderstanding was in the 'end of contract' , with a misunderstanding of the 2 months notice (notice that we gave), however they reconsidered and proceeded as the contract mentioned.

an agency with bad work doesn't check if the client has all the documentation they are just more worried that the client deposits the money in their account and after that you just have to go after them to pay you have the house like they are giving you for free.

I was tenant with them for 4 years and 10 months and I have had very difficult times with them not respect with zero attitude and I left the property last month and they sent me bill for £2585 which is not acceptable for me and I am completely disappointed from them and now I have to take them to court for that bill.
I do not recommend this Home&Away Estate Egent to anyone. Avoid avoid avoid.
They haven’t gave me fully refurbished property but they want to renew they property in my deposit, luckily I living local and I will tell to whole communities how bad and rude service they got and your website feedback saying that your not trusted people.
I remembered that When I came to your office with my wife on 08/01/2015 to gave you the deposit and I asked from Lorraine Reynolds have you received my deposit from my landlord Lorraine said to me yes we got it but you are very lucky no one get it back.
from that day I notice that they are not reliable.
It is not true and all the time I asked for repair they blamed me I am rude no one come to you but it’s opposite they always treated me and one of they contracters said to me bad words and I reported to them and landlord but they did apologise at that time later they against me and in they emails they insults me and said lies.
Final update
I received my money from my deposit but they only paid to Home&Away Estate Egent a quarter from £2585, they said to my deposit which is the third party so many incorrect things but the Home&Away didn’t succeed, my advice to Home&Away tenants please never talk to them on the phone contact with them by email and keep all the proof like something get damage or you moving out from the property take a pictures or make video from the whole property.

Negative feedback are a setup. What can i say about this company? Who else answers the phone at 3am? Got locked out and was in by 4. Honest, hard working and care about their tenants. Ive been there when tenants have gone in to pay and they act like they are friends for years. People who trash their home will bear the consequences if they then leave negative reviews then its their problem. I will never leave Home and Away for another agency. 4 years and still going strong. Love them.

Avoid at all costs... tried there best to do us out of our hard earned deposit. Nearly stopped us from moving too a new flat with a terrible reference they gave 2 our current letting agent. Current letting agent had 2 come and view the property we were renting from them so they could see the property was not "In a state & can't see how people live like this" as per Home & Away reference given. Once the property we were renting from them went back on the market it was advertised £200pm less than what we were paying.. agorant bullys is all they are!

Our experience of working with Home and Away Estate Agents has been a satisfying and satisfactory one.
All members of the team we had contact with were friendly and pleasant and if involved in a task requested by Karl most efficient.
Karl Connor our main contact conducted himself in a calm and professional manner, giving maximum support to us as vendors and also to our purchasers, smoothing the path through the conveyance of our property which could have been problematic, demonstrating knowledge, ingenuity, flair and good humour and helping to resolve issues with an uncooperative tenant.
On this experience I would have no hesitation in recommending this agency.

I was in the office of Home and Away estates at the same time as the last reviewer.
This person's comments couldn't be further away from the truth.
From what I heard he was very aggressive and they were explaining the new laws set by the home office.
I have just rented a flat through them and they went the extra mile for me, I happen to also be black which didn't cause me any problems in renting.
They were very clear with the criteria required to pass certainly appears to be sour grapes.

Very rude woman on the phone, when I enquired about the property she asked me for guarantor. When I asked for more details about guarantor she made a big fuss that I don't undestand anything and she hanged up on me saying she won't continue. Why would I sign contract with the agency if first experience "smells" already with trouble?

Their 24hour emergency service team (which not many Estate agencies offer) are reliable and endeavor to rectify any given problem efficiently. All the team at Home and Away Estates without any exceptions are always helpful when me or my partner call in therefore we cannot fault their service and for this we give them 5 BIG stars!

I have been a tenant with H&A for the last two years. Their professionalism goes a long way. They take the time to get to know you on a personal level and youre not just another client. Although it's only a "let only service" I get frequent calls to see how everything is going in my flat which should be the landlords role who manages his flat but home and away estates offer the after care and go above and beyond which is rare. I will always rent through Home & Away Estates and hope to buy through them one day too.

Abysmal. Absolutely never rent from these people. In fact avoid any sort of contact with them altogether. The staff are not just unhelpful, but brazenly rude and dismissive in every conversation you have them. Especially the manager, Katia.
The dodgy tenancy we took with these people has left a legacy that we are still trying to get over to this day.When we asked them for a reference they blatantly lied about us! Fortunately we were able to prove to our new agency that they were lying and we got our new place.
My advice, go somewhere, these people have nothing to offer.
