My family used to use Lovetts many many years ago. I recently lost my Mum who was my carer - I'm autistic. My landlord is now looking to sell. I reached out hoping to find a kind and sympathetic soul still working there, who would take my under their wing and help me find a new place. Social services have also been useless.
I explained my situation and emphasised how anxious it was making me. The reply I got was "We've nothing at the moment"
Nothing else. Not that they would help me. No sympathies. No "If we get anything we'll contract you".
If you have lots of money & are looking to give them a lot of profit I assume they will be glad to help. If you're down on your luck and need a company to be there & help you out you're best looking elsewhere.... Read more

I rang up to get a rough price of selling my property as they'd sold a property around the corner from me. Firstly they asked me what property had sold which I was unsure of the road name but would find it, I also asked my partner to find it, but they couldn't be patient for 15 seconds. then they asked what estate agent I was when I'm trying to sell my own home. Wasn't even asked for any property details of my own. Then I was rudely told they didn't know how much it would cost abruptly told me if I wanted to sell my home to ring back another time! And the phone put down on me! The whole call lasted 55 seconds. Tried calling back to speak to whoever it was just put the phone down and lone behold now awnser! What a unprofessional company.... Awful experience. After two cancelled viewings I got to see a property to let that Lovetts were very enthusiastic about. The property was fairly run down but in a lovely historical building with good potential. After meeting one of the family members (daughter) well were were told it was ours if we wanted it, my daughter was even told she could paint her room in a new colour, and as a six year old, she took this seriously and was excited. Despite immediately completing our reference details and sending lots of personal information, we never heard from lovetts again. I rang a couple of times and was fobbed off with excuses like ‘sorry I’ve been busy as my mums on holiday’. I eventually contacted the reference agency who confirmed they had never received any details for my application. Really not a nice way to treat people. I imagine that lovetts will lie if they respond and say that we failed the checks or something, but we secured a new property afterwards and had no issues at all with passing the checks.... Read more

‘I’ve lost the Lovetts’
Very disappointing, I used Lovetts (Ramsgate branch) in a purchase of a property that turned out to have a roof leak when I inspected the place for the 1st time after making an offer, but prior to sale. We agreed that the roof leak would be sorted. The estate agent used their own preferred roofing co. to address the problem and despite the assurance (on the roofer’s invoice) of ‘leaving (the roof) watertight’, I still have water running into my bedroom. SELLERS AND PURCHASERS AVOID - TOTAL TIME WASTERS. Almost didn't bother to leave a review as the other reviews of Lovetts in Ramsgate are so hilarious - and accurate (especially the one about them being more focused on eating cake than on servicing their clients).
Anyway, I viewed several buildings in Ramsgate with Lovetts as an experienced landlord and investor, only to be shown an email from them to another landlord showing they were gossiping about me to third parties behind my back, acting like they were in a school playground.
Lovetts also waited two weeks before sending me a copy of a lease agreement for two houses I wanted to make an offer on. When they finally sent me a copy of the lease, it was for another home owner who purchased a neighbouring property - BREACHING GDPR as it contained all of their personal information in it. I wrote to Lovetts of Ramsgate and noted their GDPR breach and their lack of professionalism in dealing with my two potential purchases, and told them I was aware of Jo's unprofessional gossiping behaviour, and to this day, approx two weeks later, they still have not bothered to apologise or explain why they would be gossiping behind my back - other than jealousy, I guess. No wonder they don't sell anything. Totally unprofessional. It's a shame for the seller of the two properties I was going to offer on.

My advice is to avoid using them, they are rude, don’t bother replying to emails, make you feel incompetent and like you’ve done wrong, they are incompetent. They are abrupt and rude.
The only estate agent known not to open on a Saturday! Emails are rude when they do bother to return them, they also tell lies!

Where do I start... unprofessional, slow. Their attitude and service is just not something I would wish for anyone else to have to deal with, I have had so many issues letting a flat through this agency.
I rented a completely new and furnished flat for 6 months, a 1 bed 700/PCM. I was hoping for a nice and easy start to my new life in Ramsgate but right from the start there were several issues;
The move-in date was delayed by 3 days and I only found out because I called them 2 days before my move in date.
The flat was NOT in a condition for anyone to live in, it looked nice and new, but all the pipes were leaking and knocking which made sleeping impossible. For more than a month I had to spend about 40 minutes every evening mopping up water and cleaning, after coming home from a long day at a new job. I was told by them, not to use the washing machine and it took them 2,5 months to get someone to come and look at it, only to say that nothing was wrong with it! I didn't receive any compensation for the inconvenience it had caused me. There was a smell of damp in the whole flat and it was just awful, all of it. I decided to use the 6-months break clause in my contract and move out - having to pay rent in two places for two months but it was worth it! the flat I live in now is lovely and so is the agency!
The last straw in all of this is the disappointing way they managed the return of my deposit. First, they forgot my check out date and time (even if it was at the place, date and time suggested by them!) I had to wait 50 minutes for them to come and I was ready to do a check out inspection but they were on the phone and just said "that's fine it looks nice and clean". That was prior to the lock-down in March. After chasing them constantly I received an email saying they would attend to my deposit the next day - but they didn't. I received auto replies saying they were still working during Covid-19 and considering I had my check out before the lockdown, there is no excuse.
I had to get my legal councillor to call them to progress with the deposit. I received it back after 4 months.

I received a reply to my review almost a year later, about the same speed as everything else with this agency!
Just to clarify: BOTH parties have to request the release of the deposit. According to the guidance from the DPS, the tenant should request the release one week after moving out (which I did) and the agency should confirm the release of the deposit 14 days after. Unfortunately there is no set time limit for the agency to complete the repayment process.
I was unable to make contact with Lovetts and I had to make a claim using a Statutory Declaration and help from my legal advisor. This process can be used if:
1. You have no current address for the agent/landlord.
2. The agent/landlord fails to respond to your written notice (or online repayment request) within 14 calendar days, after the end of the tenancy.
It is a lengthy procedure that should not be necessary at all.
It was not until Jo was informed that if the repayment was not processed within one week, we would proceed with further legal actions. Then the repayment process was finally completed! several months after moving out and it would have been even longer if I didn't have legal help. This is just not an agency I can recommend to anyone.... Read more

After I've sent my holding fee, I didn't get any reply from them, even though I called after a week to see when I will sign the contract, I was told that I will be called back. Every day I was calling and every day I was told I will get a call back. After 3 weeks I sent an email asking for a moving date, no reply whatsoever. After other 2 days I sent them an email requesting my money back since it was more than 15 days since they were holding it. I had to call a few hours later telling them to check their email.
Emails and phones are mandatory in this business. No communication, no replies, no updates on the situation.
Don't be fool by the friendly faces, they lack of professionalism.
And even though "the landlord is not allowed to kick me out of the house without a court order", that doesn't mean I have go through all that because of the rudeness and incompetence of others.

Avoid avoid they Rude and liers they will keep you waiting in front of the building you want to view and when you give them a call they will lie to your face with some stupid excuse .happen to me : they kept me waiting and waiting in 3 different arranged viewing .they won't even apologize or let you know you have to call them yourself .glad I went to different letting agent now I have place without stupid lies .... Shockingly slow, incompetent staff with a patronising attitude and a lot of data protection issues. Owner can't even stop eating cake for long enough to talk to her customers. I was freely reading people's personal information that was just left lying around their office. They lost our info in their extremely messy office. And charged us £400 for the privilege. Do not recommend.
EDIT: after all of this, after weeks of being strung along and being mugged off by this bunch of incompetent lying scam artists, we arrived to sign the tenancy of a property only to find that many aspects of the property had been missold. We had paid our deposit and rent up front but alarm bells started ringing during the signing when it became apparent that the garage was not part of the property, despite being told that it was by an agent. We decided to request another viewing before signing. Thank almighty Thor we did. Opening the door to the property we were met with an overwhelming cold dankness. Words here will not do justice to just how poor the condition of the property was. The small patch of damp described by Jo (the demon in charge of this rag-tag bunch of sneaky lying morons) was actually an entire wall of a bedroom, moldy cold and peeling. The light fittings were on the floor. The toilet had no seat. The conservatory was completely rotten and open to the elements. There were plants growing into the utility area. A plasterboard leaned against the wall in the dining area obviously left behind by workmen. The floors were dirty. The whole place was dilapidated and just plain horrible.
To think that they were about to allow us to sign a tenancy and accept the keys to a completely uninhabitable property shocks me. These people are unscrupulous to the highest degree. Their attitude, service and property stinks of rot. Do not use this company unless you wish to suffer at the hands of the worst customer service imaginable. Continue at your peril.... Read more
