Highly recommend using Philip Evans Estates! Bethan and the team looked after my property for 3 years and did a superb job! The property was always kept in fanatic condition internally and externally with regular checks. They consistently communicated back to me in the event of an issue / breakdown, and the team was always there within a couple of hours to rectify. They were always there to help me with any issue I had, they resolved every time any problem I faced with the flats. They contact their business professionally, honor their word and at the same time they show understanding and kindness. Both times they have returned my deposit and they have helped me in numerous ways although they didn’t really have to. They were very helpful when I locked myself out of the house and gave my spare keys without any additional payment. Rented student properties from them over the past 2 years and whenever we had any issues with the house they would organise for someone to sort it very quickly. They were always lovely and understanding if we were struggling or had issues which me and my housemates were all very grateful for. Houses were relatively cheap and cheerful with no unexpected call-out or administration fees which I know people experienced with other estate agents. Would definitely recommend them to others!... Brilliant estate agents! First positive experience in Aberystwyth - they always respond to queries quickly and are very informative. Through the Covid-19 crisis there were plenty of updates to keep everyone clear about what was happening. Everyone is super friendly too- which really helps your experience! They keep in contact with Landlords when necessary meaning that any problems are solved quickly. Definitely would recomend them for Students - especially with their summer rent policy and cheaper deposits! They certainly tend to their customers needs.... Read more

They even offered somewhere to leave my belongings when I moved from one flat to another and extended my stay until the new apartment was vacant. I also got all my deposit back. I should have written this review a few years back, as it may have encouraged students seeking accomodation in the last few years to go elsewhere. I'll share my horror story now in any case - though I do hope the Philip Evans I experienced in the past is not the Philip Evans of the present. I moved in to a new flat with some friends whilst studying. We moved in just before the holidays hit, so most of my friends were dumping their gear and running for the train to head home. I planned to stay for a few weeks. My room was unlocked when I got there, and I put all of my things in my room and left to make some tea. The door closed behind me. I made some tea, then went back to my room and coultn't get in. The key wouldn't work in the door. I phoned Philip Evans and they told me that a locksmith would be over in the afternoon. The locksmith never came. I slept in the upstairs living room on the sofa - it was warmer up there. All the doors were locked so i had no bedding, and my wallet was locked in my room. I ate a cold dinner of bread and whatever I could find in the cupboard. I phoned the next morning. They apologised - the locksmith was very busy as all the students were moving in on the same date. They said the locksmith would be there in the afternoon. I told them I had no money, tat my wallet was locked in my room. They told me to hold on, the locksmith would be there. The locksmith didn't show up. I called again in the afternoon, they said he would be there tomorrow. I ate whatever I could find in the cupboards. It was colder that day. I slept in the top room of the house as it was warmer, but not warm enough to sleep comfortably. I called the next morning, they told me the locksmith would be there in the afternoon. The locksmith didn't arrive. I took my keys and left the house in the same clothes I had now been wearing for 3 days. I hadn't eaten properly in 3 days. I hadn't washed in 2/3 days. I walked to their office, sat in a chair, and refused to leave until someone came to the flat and unlocked my door. An hour later, the locksmith came to unlock my door. I grabbed my wallet and bought a huge amount of food from the local supermarket. That's one story. I could also tell you about how some of my items that had been left in the living room went missing after the holidays - during which time the previous tenants had been instructed to go back to the flat and remove the bin bags from the back of the building. When i came back from my holiday, my computer monitor and other items were missing. Philip Evans refused to help me, and would not give me the details for the previous tenants. I could also tell you about the downstairs shower - the tiles fell off the wall whilst I was showering (a few months after we'd been in the building). I cut open my feet. Turns out, the tiles had been tiled on to an MDF board which was set a couple of inches away from the wall to give room for the pipes. I am not kidding. Someone had tiled tiles to an MDF board to turn a cupboard into a shower. They then attempted to pin the damage on us. I don't know what this company is like now - as I said, I should have written this a few years ago. Maybe things have improved - maybe they've kicked out the rude staff members? I don't know. What I do know is that back then, these guys exploited inexperienced and desperate students, so I can't recommend them.... Read more

I see a lot of negative reviews on here, but ive not had a single bad experience in my 3 months of being in a house rented from the,. There was an issue with the boiler (keep in mind thats the landlords job, not the estate agents) and that was fixed as swiftly as it could have been. The landlord here is also very good, catering to my requests and is very friendly. The staff at the estate agents are as warm and welcoming as you could imagine, and immensely helpful, especially as this was my first person renting. I could not recommend them more. Ive been in contact to other landlords and estate agents though friends and family dealing with theirs. I can be quite conservative when it comes to reviews, but genuinely, these people are great, i would recommend them.... Read more

Daughter rented a place for a year. the place was filthy when she moved in, a bra was found in one bedroom, a used condom under one of the beds. Her sink was full of foundation and required a thorough clean. One year later after cleaning the house, the landlord deducted money from the deposit for cleaning! As well as the students, many parents had come in and thoroughly cleaned the place before the house was vacated and the house was in a much better state than when the students moved in.
