Bought our first house from P&F, had no reservations enlisting their services to sell it. They not just sold it once for us, but when they sale fell through (no fault of theirs) we tasked them for selling it a second time for us, and they had to do it in a week so our offer on our new house would be accepted. They had prospective buyers through the door in 2 days and offers on the table within 4.
Pleasant, available, no nonsense pros. Richard, Nikki, Alise and all are lovely people who went above and beyond to see that our sale went as smoothly as possible.

Potter and Ford provided an excellent service in finding tenants for my flat - professional, honest, reliable and friendly. Kirsty, who has been my main contact, maintained frequent contact in a friendly, personable, honest, fair and professional manner (not exhibiting any of the corporate style of trying to impress while leaving doubts they may be hiding what is going on, which I fear occurs in the bigger chain estate agents, quite often). She was not in such a hurry to find just anyone who will pay the requested price, but took care to check out trustworthiness and was quick to inform me when she had uncertainties about a prospective tenant, allowing me to decide whether to proceed. But also she would not dismiss a prospective client for unfair reasons. While it may have meant we were not quickly successful, it has ensured I can be confident about the tenants being good, reliable and hopefully long term tenants. The rest of the team seem to be equally professional. Potter and Ford provide a superb service that I would fully recommend.

Richard, Nikki, and the team have been lovely to deal with - making sure everything was running smoothly, making sure every survey, valuation, etc. was accommodated as soon as possible, and remaining calm and effective even when solicitors were tying themselves up in knots!

I can write the truth on this review do people can see what sort of service you provided me. If you don't like hearing the truth and letting people see the truth then I suggest either you change your business or improve your customer service dramatically. I dont need your company to buy a house I rather go to a company that has good customer service which there are plenty of. I've had over 20 years in the customer service industry I'm more than happy to teach you and your team what good looks like.
Poor service. Richard is not qualified to be an agent let alone Director! What a joke! Unprofessional. The company is base on liars and cheats. Stay away from this joke shop. Nothing but fools working here!

Richard from Potter & Ford and the whole team were excellent when I bought my dream home through them. I also easily got the perfect mortgage through James their Mortgage Broker which was easy and stress free.
The purchase was a long journey that included me losing 4 buyers for my own house I was selling, but Richard balanced the needs and frustrations of the sellers of the house I was buying and my own and ensured at all times that the communication kept happening, including putting pressure on my rubbish solicitors when needed which also really helped.
I eventually moved and myself, my kids, and importantly the sellers of my new home are all delighted and so happy.

For Being a first time buyer is superb important to have a right support around you. The process with Porter and Ford was always perfect and we have managed to secure our first house. As working with people on daily basis I thought that I know what is a great customer service until I met a team in Porters and Ford. Past few months went quickly and I must admit I will miss communication with them. We want to specifically say massive thank you to: Richard for being always around and here for us and you could really ask him anything, there wasn't any question which he wouldn't answer.Robert for everything if Richard wasn't around; Diane and Nicky. A few years ago we rented a property from these guys. They charged us 120 (x2) for each person for referencing admin and £150 admin fee (£390 total) when referencing costs about £20 from the 3rd party they use.
If we had children, would they have charged £120 to credit check each child? how about the pet dog?
They were deep in the "rip of tenants" game with unscrupulous fees. Further to this, when the rented property flooded through no fault of our own and it was all a calamity, they charged us another admin fee for the new property! - as 'good will' they didn't charge us for another reference check - how is this goodwill?("this time will rip you off less than we ripped you off before"). When we finally moved out of the area it took us 3 months and threat of legal action to get our overpaid rent back.

Beware their inventory company. Potter and Ford have lovely staff who do try their best to help you. The company that they use for doing their inventories for lettings are total scam artists. The individuals sent round for the property I was renting couldn't be bothered to get all areas of damage. They then attempt to claim that damage and dirt is new on your check out report, despite the fact they took photographs of the same damage on the check in report.
I even had to argue with the person doing the check in that the property had gas - despite the fact that she had taken pictures of the gas safety certificates AND the gas boiler!

From initial meeting to completion day, Richard and his team were proactive and supportive every step of the way. In a tough sellers market we had 10 viewings within the first week. Then within a few short weeks of going to market they found us our perfect buyers.

When we first moved to Chesham, we were very impressed with Potter & Ford. Richard kept in touch with us during our search and we eventually bought our current house through them. Needless to say, when the time came 5 years later for us to sell, we called upon Richard and his team again. From handling viewings, to keeping in touch with feedback, Potter & Ford have been excellent. We have very much appreciated the feedback and guidance from both Richard and Robert when we were accepting the offer on our house, and we have just exchanged contracts . We are in a long chain, but Richard has played an instrumental part in helping to keep things moving along.
If you are looking at the Chesham and Amersham area, then I cannot recommend Potter & Ford enough. Having experienced them in both capacities as a buyer and seller, I only wish more estate agents were like them!

We had gone to great lengths to return the property to the level of cleanliness that greeted us 3 years ago – in many respects we surpassed it, I believe. We had arranged to meet the member of staff on site at a prescribed time to conduct a survey of the house with them. When my wife arrived she was informed, brusquely, that the survey had already been conducted, she demanded my wife surrender her key, and effectively, clear off.
In the last week of our tenancy, at some inconvenience to ourselves, we agreed, at short notice to allow prospective tenants to view the house. A senior member of staff responded with grace and gratitude. You have now shot yourself in the foot entrusting this ill-equipped, ill-advised woman with the handover.
Potter and Ford, you are a service industry in a small town; treat your clients with contempt at your peril.

This was our first house move for over thirty years and I confess we were a little apprehensive. Both our sale and purchase was delt with by Potter and Ford. It turned out to be a long process and not without problems along the way. But with Robert and Richard guiding and reassuring us through the difficult times we successfully achieved our move and were very grateful to have chosen Potter and Ford as our agents. Everyone was friendly, open, honest, approachable and trustworthy. We were kept well informed of the progress and nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was stress free and we were pleasantly surprised by the way we were dealt with during the whole process. A rare experience in Chesham where the two Corporate chains do not follow this philosophy. My recommendation is always use a local independent agent.

If I could put 0 stars I would. From the start of our first tenancy we ran into a few minor problems nothing to bad just a few misspellings of names and little details like that. Then after using them a second time they seemed to decline rapidly. We have received disgusting emails from serval people after being told repeatedly we were allowed a pet in the property to then told we could either pay £600 to keep her there or get rid of our beloved pet (as if that’s even a choice) or face eviction. I could write a whole essay on the disgusting treatment we have had to deal with. Disgusting company and horrendous staff.

I used Potter and Ford to manage my flat when I decided to let it and then to sell the flat a few years later. I totally recommend them on both counts; in terms of managing the property while it was let the lettings team were excellent - they were very prompt to communicate any issues that needed addressing and sorted all of these out quickly and efficiently - much better than my experiences with chain letting agents who tend to have one central admin office which is not local to the property. It meant that my tenants were always happy and keen to stay on in the property. The sales service was equally as good - excellent communication from Potter and Ford throughout and brilliant, helpful support/customer service such as communicating directly with my solicitor, surveyors etc - it just made it so much smoother and hassle-free. I would definitely use them again in future for lettings or sales as my first choice.

Happy to recommend Rob's team at Potter & Ford to anyone. We have found them to be very efficient friendly and professional throughout (what turned out to be) a rather protracted sale. We had a potential buyer lined up who then pulled out the day after the Brexit referendum. Potter and Ford immediately remarketted the property and a new purchaser was identified within 2 weeks which we were very impressed with given the uncertainty in the housing market just at that time. Unfortunately we then suffered a family bereavement which threatened to derail the whole process again but Potter & Ford persuaded the buyer to bear with us whilst the legalities of that were all being sorted out and we have now completed - today in fact!
