No courtesy call to say they were running late on a Saturday afternoon, no apology for being late, again on a Saturday afternoon (as working professionals Saturday afternoons are sacred, we accomidated this for their benefit, not ours, and found them thankless).... Read more

Bit of a shame I have to give them 2 stars but two things really spoilt the transaction when they were all doing so well and found us anolther house when the one we were fell through. I contacted them about this to resolve before reviewing and they have not replied. To be fair, they don't really answer emails but they do read them.
The extension to the rear of the property was too small for our needs and we had to extend to make it work for us so I asked them to ask the vendor if the extension was built to the maximum size allowed at the time by planning; the house is Grade 2 listed so potentially a little stricter. They came back to be on the phone and claimed that the vendor said "the extention was exactly what they wanted at the time and there is no reason why we couldn't make it bigger". This was a deal clincher. Our surveyor got talking to the owner and she said that it was the maximum that planning would allow them to build. Turns out it was just a MASSIVE lie buy Simon Millers' Period Homes. We put the brakes on the deal. The manager said he would ask the vendor to pay for a heritage planning officer to visit and give advice to which I laughed as it was not the little old lady's lie. We were too far down the line, especially as the two previous properties had fallen through. I have offered for thebagents to split the cost of the visit which I think is more than fair considering. No answer.
I would also like the missing window keys please. As you know, we have had to endure the summer heat without being able to open most of the ground floor windows. Initial query was answered but second chase was not.
Without these two major items, it would have been a 4 or 5 star. Shame. Still happy to discuss. Could quite easily have given 1 star.... Read more
