Our property was listed with Spencer Gordon in early 2025 anticipating Probate issues would be resolved within a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately this was not the case and we experienced protracted delays to finalise the necessary documents. We have finally completed today. Chris and Ross have been brilliant throughout working tirelessly with us and potential buyers. At one point our delays resulted in the loss of buyer from whom an offer had been accepted but Spencer Gordon very quickly found another. Chris, who showed me around the property, was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. As a first-time buyer, I naturally had a lot of questions, and Chris was always available and incredibly helpful in answering every single one of them. Spencer Gordon have just overseen the sale of my parents house in Ainsdale. I chose them as not only were they were the nearest in distance but extremely knowledgeable of the area and what sale price we could realistically achieve as neither myself nor either of my siblings have lived in Ainsdale for many years.
After handing them the keys to the property they oversaw all the viewings and kept me informed after each potential buyer had visited.

Ross and Chris were fully involved in making things happen when the chain we were in stalled. Other involved agents went missing when it got difficult although they talked a good job. I thank Spencer & Gordon for a good job in a bad situation.
The first contact I had was with Ross when he gave me a valuation on my deceased mother’s flat. This was so useful as I had told him I had a buyer. Consequently I sold the flat privately but he did value our house. Luckily it sold very quickly with Ross conducting the viewing and negotiating the deal.
It is no wonder that Spencer and Gordon have more boards in front of properties for sale in the Ainsdale and now Birkdale area. A really professional team!

Chris and Ross were helpful and professional. When Chris came to view our house and value it he also took measurements. When we had found a property, Chris came and took photographs. We were sent a description of our property to check and by about 5.30 pm our property was on the Rightmove Web site. Chris and Ross conducted all the viewings and whilst we lost our first buyer because of changes in the interest rates we had a new buyer within about 3 weeks. Ross was very kind and calm on the day we moved, as we lost our keys, and found them! We finally handed them over and set off for our new home.

We were looking in a particular area, and were interested in one house that came up on their site. We made an appointment and were 1st to view. We liked it enough to make an offer there and then.
It was accepted, as we were well advanced with our sale.
After that, the agents were totally helpful, and gave us every consideration. We had a few wrinkles along the way, and they did everything to make things happen.
Chris and Ross were always ready to respond to our calls, relay our concerns and seek solutions that worked for all parties.
When the completion day came, and the we arrived at the house with a truck full of stuff - there was Ross , - with the keys!!

I originally left a message on their answer phone between Xmas and New Year, only to not get a call back. I then rang in early January and mentioned this but didn't receive either an apology or an excuse.
We loved the property and made an offer. Unfortunately, literally days before completion C19 hit and we felt that we couldn't commit until we knew how it was all going to pan out. We had paid our solicitor as all the necessary work had been carried out. We still wanted the property as a buy to let and let it known that we hoped to resume the purchase when C19 allowed.
We found out that Estate Agents were back to work but received no call from SG. I actually had to call them, which seemed odd as they knew the only reason we didnt complete was because of the coronavirus.
Long story short, we eventually completed and I met the niece of the former property owners, who told me that her relatives had no idea why we'd pulled out! They were not informed that we were still interested and were told that we'd decided we didn't want it for reasons unknown.
I can only assume SG had some other agenda on the go.
Needless to say, we haven't used them to advertise the property for rent.

I was originally intending to sell through an internet site but I'm glad that I changed my mind after speaking to these lads. They're straightforward and friendly in their approach and obviously very knowledgeable. If you need to speak by phone when they're busy, a short answer machine message always gets you a swift reply.

However, Chris Gordon spoke without any flannel or sales pitch but more along the lines of 'This is what you've told me you want, this is what we can do' Simple, straightforward and it felt from the start that Spencer Gordon would have our best interests at heart. I can't recommend Spencer Gordon Estate Agents highly enough. They are worth every penny that we paid. Both Chris and Ross worked tirelessly throughout our sale and purchase and nothing was too much trouble. Their communication between ourselves, our buyer, our purchase and all parties solicitors was 1st class and both worked diligently throughout. We had approached an online estate agent earlier in the year but had to perform the viewings ourselves of which we received nearly 30 in a short space of time and sometimes one after another occupying full weekends and evenings. With no concrete offers we spoke with Spencer Gordon and after swapping to them they took over viewings and within a matter of a few weeks an offer was secured. The house was valued and sold pretty much the same day. During the process there were a number of the usual kind of problems...mortgages, solicitors etc, which lengthened the sale, but Chris chased up on a regular basis to make sure what could be mi ed quicker was, right up to completion. I was very happy with the service and professionalism.
If I had one criticism it would be in the early stages I was the one who had to ringfor updates, it wpuld have been nice to have a weekly update. Other than that a great service.

Be careful if you rent - even if you leave your property clean and tidy they charge extortionate cleaning fees and hold onto your deposit until you agree for the fees to be deducted. I was held to ransome and I was ignored by the company when I advised that I could hire a cleaner for much cheaper if needed. Very unprofessional company.

Spencer Gordon were outstanding when I was having difficulties buying my first home. It took nearly 7 months to complete, due to mortgage lender issues. However, both Chris and Ross were so supportive and patient, and even helped to contact my mortgage brooker to make things move faster. Most estate agents are so pushy when it comes to buying a house but Chris and Ross never once pushed me into doing anything.
