Impossible to deal with and I’d avoid at all costs in future. To list but a few things they screwed up on: Collection of our keys - Initially we were looking forward to moving in. On the listing for the properly it stated we can pay half rent for the property during the summer so we can move our stuff in during that time and we would pay full rent when we were ready to move in properly. Despite this, they stated they could not give us the keys or access to the property to move our belongings until August or September, which was problematic as this was extremely close to our course start dates and none of us drive making the transportation of our belongings even more difficult. They were happy to charge us over £1,100 between us though, with nothing to show for it… Extremely slow response times - Staff were very quick to reply when concerning their money (viewings, rent, etc.) but would keep us waiting for weeks for anything concerning our issues with the house or just not bother replying at all. At one point, the boiler stopped working so we had no hot water or heating. Despite repeated emails, we had no communication back for almost a month until they sent someone to have a look. This person did not diagnose or resolve the issue so we had to repeat the process several times over until 3 months later when we finally got a new boiler fitted. All this in the middle of winter while paying full price for these services, might I add. Short notice house viewings - Would always give us the bare minimum legal notice for arranging house viewings, and expect us to conduct the tour of the house to prospective tenants on their behalf. This was a big deal as many of these viewings happened during the exam period where the last thing we needed was people running around the house while we were working on meeting deadlines or drained from working night shifts the day before. They could have given notice when they accepted viewing requests but instead chose the day before, leaving us few options to adjust our living situation. I could write a novel on why not to use StudentTenant, they were THAT bad. In short, don’t bother!... Read more

As first year students we were new to living alone, so to say they made the experience draining is an understatement. There was no communication in regards of such issues like the lack of heating and hot water for well over a month in winter. The sheer lack of communication when other students where viewing the property. As to top it off, the rudeness of them coming onto the properly unheard and without warning! I'd highly recommend not using this letting agency, especially as a student! Completely disgusting service.... Read more

This issue has now been sorted, thank you for your help! wouldn’t even give it one star! They have falsely advertised a room for rent! for which I paid a deposit to secure the room being told it was available, later that same day to receive a call from the land lady herself saying that there isn’t a room available as the house was full and the contracts for the house had been signed by other people months ago. She told me Student Tenant should have never advertised the room and didn’t have her permission to advertise a room available, because no room was available! I’m struggling to get my deposit back, constantly being told it will be in my account in 48hrs which it has not! Technically this is theft as they have taken my money for no reason what so ever! Fuming with this company is an understatement, would never recommend to anyone and would tell people to stay well away!... Read more

I was trying to get accommodation for my second year but Student tenant made that experience awful. Not showing up to their viewings and late notifications of landlords not being about to make it. They even admitted that there was bad miscommunication on their side which is disappointing if it happens more than once. Looking at the reviews I definitely dodged a bullet. Try private housing or another agency!!... Read more

Student Tenant have been nothing but incompetent, non responsive, and unable to return deposit in time or at all at this rate. No student should use this service. They're apparently there to insure students do not get taken advantage of, you are less likely to be taken advantage with private renting. My first year deposit was taken from due to no fault of my own and lack of communication on their and the landlords behalf. When moving to another house for my second year and then letting them know I would not be there for my third year, my housemates were threatened to be kicked out. I kept paying my rent until the end of the tenancy and have now been waiting 2 months for my deposit to be returned, and not am having no response to my emails.... Read more

Made us live with some random guy from another house, wouldn’t give our deposit back, the house was falling apart and completely overpriced, damp and mould was all over the house and the fridge literally broke as soon as something was put in it! Had a housemate drop out and they tried to make us pay rather than using his guarantor, took more rent than they were supposed to and didn’t give it back until 6 months later after our bank got them to return it!... Have been dealing with Student tenant specifically Jake - he has been really helpful in this process of letting student accommodation out and his service is 5*. I am pretty new to this market and he has been extremely professional, patience and very helpful. If I could put less than a star I would. Horrible, money grabbing company. They are incompetent, don't care about anything else than lining their pockets from wherever they can get it. Avoid using, private renting is so much cheaper. I was also contacted about this review in a very rude email.... Read more
