They were always polite and professional. Kept in touch regularly throughout the process updating me when things had happened. They responded to all communications promptly.
Visited a few weeks ago from London to view property in Canterbury, made my interest in property clear. Received a call back the next day in which I restated interest and questions for seller, told someone would call me back. Throughout the following week received no call back so rang several times for updates only to be met with confusion and told each time that a colleague would call me back.
No colleague ever called me back. I rang up myself and made an offer on the property. Assured that someone would call me back.
Again, no call back. Couple days later I notice the property was no longer listed online and on September 21 called Miles & Barr to be told that the property had been sold!
I reminded them of my offer and was told that there was no record of my offer on file.
Expressed my disappointment to deputy manager Reiss who assured he would call me the following Monday to explain and assist in finding me a similar property. Well it's now Friday and unsurprisingly, no call back.
Unprofessional, disappointing service all round.
Excellent service from this friendly estate agent. Took on board all the features of our house which were reliably relayed to prospective buyers. Invest energy and commitment into selling what turned out to be a difficult house to sell. We would highly recommend them.
We recently finished a short term tenancy managed by this company. Before we moved in we were assured that the property would be thoroughly cleaned first but in fact it was absolutely filthy.
After a few weeks we found that not all the utilities had been transferred to our name and we were told by this company to do their work for them by making the arrangements ourselves, which we refused to do.
All the heating and hot water failed during a spell of cold weather, also there was a sound of leaking water. We were totally dissatisfied by the speed with which this company reacted to this problem which was caused, according to the plumber who eventually turned up, by the fact that the central heating had never been serviced.
The only time that anyone came to inspect the property on the landlord's behalf was the day before the tenancy was due to expire. They expressed surprise that we were packed up and ready to leave, apparently because we had mentioned several months earlier that we might request a short extention of our tenancy. They then argued that, as we had not said that we did not require an extension we owed a month's rent in lieu of notice. Needless to say we refused to pay.
I have not generally enjoyed my dealings with estate agents over the years, but I found my dealings with Godwin Curtis the least enjoyable of the lot. Not recommended for either landlords or tenants!
Have visited quite a few cathedrals over the years and Canterbury is impressive, however, at £12.50 it is also the most expensive to visit.
The stained glass windows and the soaring architecture cannot fail to impress. What I also enjoyed though we're the surrounds, numerous archways and passageways leading to hiddened corners, attractive views and secuded gardens.
So on balance well worth the entrance fee. It's a shame though that Canterbury is so difficult and expensive to visit by car, but I suppose that's because it is so Popular
We were visiting Canterbury on a coach trip touring Kent and my elderly mother, two sisters and I were looking forward to seeing the cathedral. We were gob smacked to find a barrage across the entrance and a little hut selling tickets at £10 each to obtain entry! When I suggested to a young lady that we would gladly give an anonymous donation she replied that they tried that and it worked out that people were only giving 12p each! She said they needed the money for the up keep of the cathedral! I asked her if she was boing paid to do her job to which she replied yes! So like most charities these days folks all your money doesn't go where you want it too! They wouldn't even let us in to walk round the exterior and cloisters! Disgusting!
After the failings of my trusted agent I recently struggled to find the right agent to let my property through. After having numerous Canterbury agents visit my property.I am happily settled with the ward and partners in Canterbury. I was extremely impressed with the lettings agent Ashley who came to visit me at my property.
His knowledge & understanding of the Canterbury market set ward and partners a class above the rest.
I highly recommend ward and partners Canterbury
The worst estate agents I have ever used. Losing my banker's draft of over £1600. Not fun
