21st Aug 2024 (1 year ago)The house we are selling was bought through Whitegates Cleckheaton and had found them very helpful , so when we put it up for sale we went back to the them. After 10 months and a variety of "problems" [being asked to conduct viewing ourselves, not getting constructive feedback etc] we reluctantly cancelled with them .

In the final stages of completing she was very helpful in getting it sorted, dealing with both solicitors and clients in a long chain of six! Always professional, kind and supportive throughout the process, with many phone calls and reassuring explanations. Our thanks especially to Heidi and all the team at Simon Blyth in Lindley who we would thoroughly recommend.

5th Apr 2026 (30 days ago)Our experience with William H Brown has been extremely distressing and, frankly, shocking in terms of professionalism and conduct. From the outset, communication was unacceptable. Emails and phone calls were repeatedly ignored, sometimes for long periods, leaving us completely in the dark and forced to chase basic information. This created unnecessary stress and gave the impression that once they had our interest, responding to customers was no longer a priority. What made matters far worse was the way my daughter — a first-time buyer with very limited knowledge of the property market — was treated. Instead of being supported and guided responsibly, she appeared to be subjected to pressure and tactics that felt opportunistic and unfair toward someone in a vulnerable position. There were statements made to her that later proved to be inconsistent or misleading, which raised serious concerns about honesty and transparency. We were particularly troubled by what felt like a persistent push toward using their in-house broker, with claims that it would be more affordable. When this turned out not to be the case, it left us feeling deceived and taken advantage of. For a young buyer entering the market for the first time, this kind of experience is both intimidating and damaging. Overall, the behaviour we encountered came across as evasive, unhelpful, and at times sly. Trust is essential in property transactions, yet our trust was repeatedly undermined by poor communication and questionable conduct. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise others — especially first-time buyers — to approach this company with extreme caution, keep detailed records of all interactions, and carefully verify any information provided. A deeply disappointing and troubling experience from start to finish.

They went above and beyond to get the viewers in to look at the property and tried their best to advertise the house in the best way possible. Finally we have a buyer and its thanks to David and Freddie. Trust, honesty and straight talking is what you want and its what we got with them so thank you both again.

Good service with action on all communication about the property.- 29th Mar 2026 (5 weeks ago)Claire and Hannah are absolutely fantastic. It took me a year to sell my apartment due to the long conveyancing process of selling leasehold apartments and a first buyer pulled out very close to the end of the process. But Claire and the team found two buyers in very quick succession and had the property taken off the market. They are very quick and attentive to the admin requirements when dealing with a property sale and also good at keeping you in the loop with chasing solicitors through the sale process. I have deal with a few estate agents over the last year but Claire and her team are by far the best.

They gave me two price estimates - to sell with and without improvements. Once on the market, Kaylee kept in touch and answered any questions I had. The service was excellent from start to finish and I would recommend them to anyone!
