My family and I viewed a house in street we were interested in. I had an offer accepted. Which was great. Until two days later I was told I was gazumped! Not much of an explanation. The house had been on the market for months. Which I believe was a conflict of interest with one investor of the property. Anyway.. I was mainly a cash buyer, but also in the process of buying some land so acquired a mortgage offer to ensure that this purchase was straightforward. They tried to push for their own mortgage people, which I wasn't really interested in. Which I this think was the defining factor! Suddenly a house that noone was interested in... is in a bidding war. Shame on you Beresford Adams.... Read more

I have lived in my apartment for 3 years, my ancient boiler got condemned two weeks ago along with the cooker which was here when i moved in, it took the landlord nearly a week to respond to residential estates about the issues, then i was advised by residential lettings to report the landlord to the council disrepair department which i did and i may add i have a vulnerable child in my care as well, the council got in touch straight away and chased them up, 11 days later i get contacted by the gas engineer company to tell me the date of the new boiler, still nothing about a new cooker, i have spent a small fortune on food and electricity feeding us and keeping us warm, no contact from residential estates, they tried saying at one point that I couldn’t be contacted which is a lie, my roof is leaking i cannot sleep in my bedroom as the ceiling is wet and starting to mold, the wall is soaking wet! Not heard anything about the roof either, is this acceptable? Freezing cold, no cooker, cold wet bedroom? Lack of communication, no oil heaters which was said was going to be brought to the property? At this point I expect compensation and the issues to be dealt with swiftly!... Read more
