Have used Ascend for 4 years to manage my flat in Liverpool.
During the pandemic they found poor tenants with minimal vetting, carried out no inspections (even after restrictions were lifted).
After I made my own inspection I had to alert them to the problems they were missing. When the tenant left my place in an aweful state, their own agent admitted this was terrible.
Finally, I received demands from debt collectors for unpaid council tax bills from a void period that the agent never passedon to me. Ascend claim they never received the 3 reminders from the council and refused to take any liability for their mismanagement. I lost £600 in fees and a significant knock to my own credit rating.
A large agency that likes to charge management fees but doesn't actually manage. Stay clear - I'm sure there are better options out there!... Read more

AVOID at all costs. Working with this managing agency was the worst mistake I ever made. They do not care about their clients be it a landlord or tenant. They do not respect contractual agreements, they falsify legal documentation, keep your deposit once it has been released from the deposit holding scheme. They are a total sham.... Read more

I've lived in ascend property for two years and if there is anyone thinking of doing the same i urge you to LOOK ELSEWHERE. ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
Firstly, we were straight out of university so it wasn't the best flat when we moved in but we did know that. There were huge mould patches on the bathroom ceilings that Ascend promised to remove before we moved in. They didn't. It took months of chasing them up to get them to do anything.
A few months into the tenancy, there was a leak in the building and the ceilings needed re-painting. Again this took ages of chasing Ascend to get them to come into the flat to fix the issue. The damp also affected the extractor fans making them not work in the bathrooms causing further mould problems. Eventually we were copped onto an email and when we followed the chain down, we released that the reason no one had come to sort it was because a contractor had signed the keys out and not signed them back in. Ascend didn't know who had our keys and didn't tell us or change the locks on the flat!!! Eventually they managed to get access to the flat and fix the problem. About a week later we arrived home after work to find the apartment smelling of fresh paint and a used paintbrush in the kitchen sink. there were white paint splatters on our possessions in the living room as well. When we asked Ascend why they had entered our property without our consent or knowledge they point blank denied it. EVEN THOUGH A CONTRACTOR LEFT THEIR PAINTBRUSH!!! To this day we have no idea who or why someone entered our flat.
Then the fridge packed in. It was just old and cheap. It took them 3 weeks to get a new one in. We were ringing them everyday as it was the middle of the summer and we could not store food in the flat for nearly a month. Ascend didn't even apologise for the wait.
Towards the end of the tenancy, the bathroom fitting started to fall apart. This was just due to being old and rusty. It was an unsafe bathroom to be in as there were large sheets of glass being held up by rusty screws and one of them did fall on me giving me minor cuts. Ascend are now trying to charge me for that saying it was my fault!!!!
Now we have left, they have given us a fabricated list of charges to take off our deposit (some of them now illegal due to the tenancy act 2019) equating to 75% of our total deposit!!
We have tried to be nothing but good tenants and in the two years we have been there Ascend have been nothing but difficult. It has got to the point that we just decided to move out. When looking for a new place we would come across nice looking properties on the internet but as soon as we saw that ascend banner on the advert, it went straight in the no pile. I urge anyone looking to rent from Ascend to do the same.... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
