At the end of 2023, I was looking to move more centrally to rent for a period after selling my flat. I only viewed one flat, which is the one Mark showed me, as I immediately lovely it and he was super helpful and the process from then on was seamless. Any queries I had at the beginning of my move were answered fully and speedily and any issues arising during the tenancy that required the attention of the landlord (through the managing agency AW Childs) have been dealt with appropriately. Moving from owning a property to renting one is a change, and the overall professionalism of AW Childs has made this a good experience for me.

I met with Mark for a flat viewing and he was extremely kind and accommodating with any questions and concerns I had about the apartment, the building and the location. He was very efficient in communicating via email and phone when I required assistance and further information.
On the day, a bit after the flat viewing I realised I had forgotten to check something and Mark was kindly quick to let me back into the flat after a few minutes to let me check again.

Alex and the team at AW Childs were absolutely outstanding! I initially bought my flat from Alex several years ago, and after having a not-so-great experience trying to sell it with a larger estate agents, I decided to give Alex a call. He was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process - constantly kept me up-to-date, chased solicitors and was always contactable (even out of hours). Alex is incredibly helpful and gave sound, realistic advice throughout. He went above and beyond all the time - a very rare experience nowadays. They are absolutely amazing!!! I was trying to find a place to rent and spotted one from Rightmove and contacted them. They replied to me quickly. From then on, no matter viewing arrangements or any questions, they almost always replied the same day. Alex was the agent for the seller of the house we were buying. We found him so responsive and fantastic in our calls around the house that we wanted him to deal with the sale of our own flat to.
Although it seemed unusual as neither area was Alex’s ‘patch’, we found this not to be an issue at all, whether it was talking through what to list our place for or dealing with negotiations.
Alex gave expert advice but was never pushy and we were really happy with both the sale and purchase. He was extremely responsive and crucial to the whole process.

Alex helped us with the sale of our apartment in a tricky market. He has been very responsive throughout, flexible on viewings and very helpful with advice right from agreeing the initial asking price and all the way until exchanging the contracts.
The sale process has taken longer than we (and Alex probably too) wished for, due to reasons outside of the agent’s control, but the guys at AW Childs have been very professional and attentive throughout, even when it seemed like the transaction may not happen at the end.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this agent and we would be using them again if we were to sell/let our property in and around Angel.

Avoid! They cost me £252 more than my last agents and they provided a sub-standard service. I had to repeatedly email them to arrange viewings, they did nothing special and used photocopied contracts that were hardly legible. When I moved in the flat had not even been dusted and the toilet showed signs of recent usage!

I decided to rent out my apartment in the Barbican and A.W. Childs coincidentally had just posted a promotional leaflet through my door that exact same day. Following my call, Alex popped by almost immediately and could not have been more knowledgeable, enthusiastic and highly-charged at the prospect of finding tenants to rent out our flat. He had potential tenants lined up and through the door the moment I instructed him. He found an excellent tenant within a week at the full asking price. My circumstances then changed and I decided not to rent out the flat which he took well when I broke the news to him. I was embarrassed considering the amount of marketing and time Alex and Mark had put in. I am going to rent out the flat early next year and will use A.W. Childs exclusivity. I couldn't recommend them more highly specifically for their honesty, enthusiasm, communication and integrity.
