For those of you who are looking at selling a property and are wondering who to give your business to, look no further. This is the second time we have used Barratt Last and cannot recommend them enough. We initally spent time with Martin, who came round to view our property, explained the process and showed people around the house. He was on hand anytime of day, if we had any questions and would always get back to us. He is a really nice man, approachable, makes you feel at ease and it is evident the experience he has with the housing market. Once the sale had been agreed, we were the put in the very capable hands of Rachel, what an absolute star!! She made sure that everything was kept on track. She kept us updated and informed us throughout the whole process and was always at the end of the phone if we needed her.

Rachel from garner canning is literally a god send. Our sellers were using garner canning to sell their home to us. Our solicitors were awful and she was always the one filling in the silence, keeping us informed on what was going on and chasing things up. She definitely needs a raise!! I highly suspect any reviews above 1 star here are written by the staff themselves and G&C are *appalling*....they don't even deserve *one* star.
There was a constant turnover of staff, a catalogue of errors with no one at G&C knowing what was going on/where we were at.
It became more and more chaotic and then.....radar silence for *weeks*.
No replies to emails from us or the estate agent (you can't contact them on the phone) leaving us all completely in the dark and under a massive amount of stress.
Due to their complete incompetency and arrogance, the chain was about to collapse, so our estate agent had no choice but to sack them and find us another solicitor to pick up the pieces.
Thankfully, our new solicitor is making good progress and keeping us informed every step of the way which is what you would expect when you pay someone for their conveyancing services.
My only advice is to AVOID.
We have made a report to the Ombudsman.

Martyn and Leigh have done a great job during an extremely difficult time, the house sold within days! There was some difficulty with the purchasers conveyancing but Martyn kept us informed every step of the way and also kept in contact with the purchaser to encourage the completion. In my experience they they are very professional, pro-active and straight forward. Their knowledge of the local property market is second to none.
