I am a first time buyer and didn't really know where to start with getting the right mortgage and protection for me. My brother had previously used Bridgfords when he bought his first home about 9 years ago. He had the support of Lee Johnson, Mortgage & Protection Consultant who was incredibly helpful. As he had sucessfully helped my brother, I contacted Bridgfords and received similar support. Although my brother's details are no longer on their current system, Lee remembered him and said he would make sure we got the referal bonus, which was a nice surprise. No other agency came any where close to the amazing team at Bridgefords Halifax. Going back in 2020 I was looking for an investment property, I called Bridgfords to discuss and find out the best location in Halifax to invest for buy to let. Sarah attended me and guided me in detail. After the guidance I bought the property in first quarter of 2021 and put it in the market through Bridgfords. They found me good tenants within 48 hours, and since then they are managing the property. I never had any issues with them, they respond to my queries swiftly. Because of my experience I got confidence to expand my portfolio and bought a second property. Again Sarah found me a tenant within 24 hours, with good rental income.
Based on my experience I would highly recommend to use Bridgfords.

Deleted my previous review to re-add as a tennant now leaving a bridgfords property, as I would like to give more details to make prospective tenants aware of their practices.
The property that I moved into had issues caused by negligence in almost every area that a property could face. Let's start from the top down with all of the issues that I inherited taking on the property: chimney near collapse causing damp in my bedroom and creating damp and integral damage to my neighbours walls, roof tiles slipping ready to fall of right above the door, guttering with holes coming away from the walls left unclear from the previous tennant, walls with no pointing causing rising damp, basement letting in water with cardboard trash and leaves from previous tennant, damaged raw wood floor board through out the house that are left unfinished and with huge gaps that are unable to be cleaned effectively, walls with damp pealing wall paper, installed window unfinished with massive gaps around in every room, mould from damp covering wood furnishings, black moulding leaking fridge with seal gone on doors, broken front door lock on the only exit of the house leaving me locked in the first night I stayed over, kitchen with no adiquit ventilation causing thick layer of mould on the out of eye view upper of kitchen cabinet interior that were rotten rusty and falling apart, sink with temporary sealant tape covered in black mould, kitchen wall leaking ever time that it rains, shower that was clearly broken with glass shards left in it when I arrived (after being told it was fixed when I came) that eventually lead to a large internal flood where no remedial work was ever done during my whole time there, silver fish infestation.
These conditions were awful to gain coming into the property, I am a vulnerable adult and this was my first experience living on my own, it's not been the best experience to say the least. After weeks of me raising these issue to Bridgfords, it took my Dad having to step in and firmly advocate on my behalf for concerns to be heard beyond telling me, that patches of low odor paint done during the hand over was sufficient for all concerns. What was done following this during my 7 month's in the property you may ask: door fixed, chimney fixed, shower fixed with no remedial work, fridge changed. I understand that things take time and I was greatful for this, but it was not enough and the property should never have been on the market for renting in this state.
I'm now leaving the property due to these issues. Although I'm sure that my work colleagues and friends will be very grateful that I'm not longer greating them smelling of damp mouldy house, the experience has been of a great cost to me- both financially and mentally. I am terminating my contract early after making an agreement with my landlord, however I never expected to be hit with a re-housing fee. To me this sealed the deal that it's not just the negligence of 95 year old landlord who may not be able to manage the property but bridgfords themselves. The fact that they are happy and willing to put another tennant through the experience of this property in it's current state says everything to me.
I really don't like writing bad reviews unless an experience has been so inhumane that I believe prospect customers have the right to be informed. But long story short if you are looking to rent please stay away from bridgfords or be much more careful than me. Don't let them pressure sell you into taking on a property, don't believe them when you identify issues when viewing the property and they say they will be fixed because it's a lie, if you are a vulnerable adult or someone with a disability especially please go elsewhere.
Edit: after looking at the negative reviews I actually spotted one of the previous tennants of my same property saying the same issues. Looks like I'm the forth tennant now leaving the property with these issues. Also just noticed that they have managed to get a new tenant in from a video viewing alone, probably same one I had that's years old.

After a very challenging few weeks and being in a position to exchange contracts on the sale of our house, unfortunately our purchase fell through.
I contacted Bridgefords as I had viewed a property previously with them that we liked. I spoke to Feriel who was wonderful and attentive.

Having dealt with a few different estate agents in the past year or so, Bridgfords are by far the most switched on, approachable, knowledgeable and proactive.
I have used their mortgage advisor for a number of years (fantastic service from him, as well) and now they have helped market and successfully let my property. It was gone within a number of days thanks to their expertise in pricing and marketing content.

I live in the apartment for a while now. Service good for selling or renting properties , but if something broken in the house plus in my contract says if something brokens I have to report online . Nobody will take actions for that , landlord disappears and agency not care at all , I have been with few agencies before in Halifax they much more productive and looking after to tenant’s needs all the time . I don’t recommended go with the bridgfords agency at all

I approached Bridgfords Halifax to discuss renting my property out and requiring a fully managed service which also involved a complete renovation of the property prior to letting.
From the outset, meeting and speaking with Sarah Broadbent, it was obvious she has a wealth of experience in property management, understanding the area, the current market and demand for letting. Her confidence and knowldege in the market conditions put my mind at ease that she was the right person to work with, who could deliver what was agreed. She is friendly, confident and professional in her approach and easy to have an honest conversation with. She managed the renovation with ease and ensured she was on top of the contractors and the end result was amazing. Lee was recommended to us by a friend who had recently used Lee’s service as a Mortgage & Protection Consultant and we couldn’t be happier with his service.
He made the whole process so simple for arranging our mortgage with the best lender, even moving his calendar around to ensure we got the best deal before the mortgage rates increased. He also arranged our Home Insurance so that we didn’t have to do anything ourselves.
Beyond that he is always available to speak to if you have queries and will even contact people on your behalf for surveys etc.
If I could give more than five stars I would, Lee is a credit to Bridgfords and the profession as a whole!

(Make yourself a cuppa if you are reading this, to note I don't leave 1* reviews lightly, most of the time if I wouldn't leave a 5* review I don't leave one at all because everyone has off days don't they?! I did try to explain to her my difficulties getting to speak with someone and her reply was: "well you're speaking to us now aren't you."
But,when it comes to selling homes for people it is important as this type of service can effect how people are able to move on with their lives and have a huge impact on people/families involved.
We have been trying to get hold of someone at Bridgfords to view a property they are selling on Wentworth Drive since Saturday (Today is Tuesday).
They tried to call me yesterday twice within the same minute, (aren't mobile phone call logs great!) they did not leave a voicemail.
I rang back within 5 mins and the call went to their voicemail, I left a message. Tried to phone them later in the afternoon, went to voicemail again.
The house in question has been for sale for a while and I am not surprised with how obstructive Bridgfords are!
I have phoned them again this morning (11am as still no response from the message I left them 24hrs ago.
Spoke to a female member of staff who asked for my address to which i started to tell her and i told her we only live round the corner but we want to downsize.
After i'd finished giving my address she asked "why do you want to move to a house thats just round the corner?"
So i told her "As mentioned it is because we want to downsize."
To which she replied "oh i must have missed that bit." Again,no apology.
Id recommend a customer service course for this woman!
She then asked me when I could do viewings so she could speak to the vendor; any evening or weekend I reply - oh no she says we are doing the viewings so it has to be office hours.
What are your hours I ask?
Mon - Fri 9-5 she goes.
Please could we do 9am on Tuesday then? (6 days away)
She replies: no, we don't start work that early ????????
Then she says she can speak to the vendors and ask them if we could do 5pm that day?
I said that may be difficult as we have an appointment at 5:30pm Halifax town centre, could you do any earlier? Any time at all that day? She says, No my diary is full but doesnt offer any other options whatsoever!
I took this as a sign this house is not for us!
Why ask what my availability is when yours is so limited? Surely give me the times which you can do and I will then let you know which of those we can do??
It's no wonder you don't see many Bridgfords For Sale signs about.
If you are the owner of this property I'd advise switching to a less restrictive and more helpful estate agent, with customer service skills. All the others we have spoken to in Halifax have been fab.

Our experience purchasing a property with Bradford Halifax has simply been flawless. Our viewing appointment was quickly made and we were refereed to Mr Lee Johnson their in house Mortgage Services Consultant. Lee is top guy. He supported us with a joint mortgage application which was initially turned down by Nationalwide but quickly secured a good mortgage offer with NatWest all under 2 weeks. When Natwest interest rates reduced slightly after our original offer Lee was in touch again to inform us about this and the potential to re-negotiate at the new rates whiles the lawyers complete property searches.

Wanted to take this chance to share that I've worked with the Halifax branch of Bridgfords since 2019 and with the current service manager for over 3 years.
The only reason I have gone out of my way to choose this particular branch of Agent and in fact add 2 more properties under their management is specifically the service manager who has been relentless in pursuit of the highest standards of being professional, hard-working and supportive.
There is a strong team at the branch who have always taken their time to connect, empathise, support and fulfil requirements. How they manage to juggle all the various roles to deal with various stakeholders from the wide spectrum profile of tenants, the council, building control, neighbours, colleagues, trades people and landlords is an inspiration to me. Working through bank holidays and exceeding my expectations has become a norm.
It is an overused term but in the case of the team and the service manager in particular at Bridgfords in Halifax, they are an absolute asset to the company. Keep up the excellent high standards of work and I look forward to continue working with you for years to come.

How unfortunate that the branch manager is rude and obnoxious. A query that has been unresolved since 2022 has continued to be unresolved and no help at all from the manager. There is no customer support at all. It’s not in their vocabulary to assist anyone. You are commanded to call the office which is ever answered.

One of the worst company i have ever dealt with. I was booked to show a property. However, when I arrived there, no agents or anyone around to show me. I waited almost 45 minutes and knocking on door but there was noone to show the property potentially i was going to buy. I rang them which went repeatedly into voicemail. I emailed the agent who booked me in saying i am outside the door but not received any correspondence.
They did not call me on that day to see where i was. They did not inform me that they will not be able to show me around. They have mislead me and lied to me. According to Trading Standards they have been in breached.
The branch Manager have been very awful to me, no professionalism and did not resolve this issue. Infact kept on lieing to me saying his colleague was at the property when he/she wasn’t. The manager was talking over me would not believe me the fact i was at the property on time to my appointment and waited 45 min But there was noone at the property. The manager further stated they called me and left voicemail however I received no calls from them. I asked for a proof to show me they have called or they were at the property but he would not show me stating he does not need to show proof. This company is a scam including the workers in Halifax branch are scammers and bunch of liers.
I request everyone please do not go for this company whether u want to buy or sale. They are not trustworthy and certainly they have such a poor customer service is unbelievable. They will waste your time and money and they will not show you property. If they can do this to me they will do to everyone else. This company needs to be banned or needs to be brought into CEO or director attention as to what they di and they are getting away with this. I will further report this to property ombudsman and financial ombudsman and trading standard authority.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience with Bridgfords when trying to sell our home. Over 60% of calls go unanswered. Viewers not turning up, others not leaving feedback. From reading other reviews I suspect that people were pushed towards mortgage appointments they didn't want. Communication was poor from the outset and got worse. We've terminated our agreement a month early after complaint to their customer relations team. Watch out for the 24 week solo agent clause in the contract!

We went back to him recently for Lee to help us, he did everything he could to get us a mortgage! We had many issues with the banks and them changing rates and getting mortgages offered to us then taken away, lee did everything he could to make us feel better and help us.

Absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated by Bridgefords. Property we were interested in was advertised at £995 and was told that there was a lot of interest. We then got a call to say that the landlady could not decide and therefore would we be prepared to offer more in rent. Surely this is morally wrong! As we really liked the property and was desperate to move we made a further offer of £1100 maximum and was told she would come back to us. We had to call THEM to be told that we had not been accepted. The other tenants were more suited to her needs if this was the case why did she not realise this before asking us to increase our offer. Pure greediness!!! When a property is advertised surely this cannot be changed!!!

From the initial conversation with Alex the manager who came out promptly to value our house and give us options of how to market to our decision to go with modern auction was only a couple of days. The write up was excellent and completed quickly. The photos were also brilliant. The property gained immense interest no doubt due to the amazing marketing skills of the staff and Alex (the other one!) and Courtney were fabulous at showing the multitudes of prospective buyers around the property. I ended up moving to another property and they nearly lost me the house (i have a child too) as despite many calls and email chasers they dragged their feet so much. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience with Bridgfords while selling our house. Don't make the mistake we made of choosing them because they came in with a higher valuation than all the other agents. Because their fees are fixed at a % of the initial valuation, once the property is in on the market there's no incentive for them to actually achieve their valuation - you pay them the same commission no matter what price you eventually sell for. They also added to the stress of the process with poor communication. There were days when it was virtually impossible to get through to them on the phone, including at really important stages like when we were trying to accept or negotiate an offer. If we could do it again, we'd definitely choose a different agent.

This is the second time we have used Bridgfords in Halifax. We looked around for Mortgage deals back in 2018 as first time buyers and fortunately after numerous discussions with different agents and banks we came across Bridgfords and Lee Johnson. Lee is a fantastic Mortgage Broker and will go well out of his way to ensure you understand every aspect of the application and ensure you get the best value for money you possibly can. As stated we are now using Bridgfords again but this time to sell our exisiting home due to requiring more space. Within the space of our property being listed on the market and the following 24 hours we had 5 confirmed viewing with a further 3 the following day. After the initial viewings we received 2 offers at the asking a price with a few other interested parties or requests for a second viewing. Amy carried out the viewings at a suitable time for ourselves with home working and is a credit to the team, Amy kept us updated with any new offers or viewings that had been scheduled ensuring it fitted with our schedule before confirming.
Lee Johnson is again sorting out our new mortgage application to ensure our affordability and costs are all in line with our requirements. Lee has always been on hand to help with any queries from looking at the buying property to obtain further information, updating us with any required documents and booking in remote meetings within short notice if required taking time out of his busy schedule to keep us updated. I always do and could not recommend Lee for any Mortgage requirements to anyone and everyone who is looking for a reliable and trust worthy mortgage Broker. We have also had some contact with Alex at Bridgfords when we have been chassed by the other vendor (for the house we are buying) for any updates. Alex has provided us with the relevant and current information we required at the time. I would always recommend using a reputable estate agent when selling or searching for any property as this does make the whole process run much more smoothly. We are now just waiting for the sale side to tie up and our buying process to begin in which we hope that we can complete and be in our new home before the end of September (before the stamp duty returns to normal). Bridgfords will keep us updated on the progress of the sale to ensure things run smoothly until completion.

After our original mortgage broker (a national company) was unsuccessful in finding us a suitable mortgage, we switched to Lee as the property we have now bought was listed with Bridgfords.
Within less than a week, Lee found us the perfect mortgage, which resulted in saving us £2k in exit fees which we thought were unavoidable due to our situation, but Lee managed to make it happen!

From the beginning of the process to settling into our new home, the Halifax team have been amazing. They have gone above and beyond to help us. Sarah was incredible from start to finish, keeping us well updates throughout the whole process (something which we have not experienced through the process of looking for a rental property elsewhere) She exceeded all expectations.

After going through the correct procedures to take my ex husband off the tenanacy and adding my partner on. Bridgfords decided to ignore the signed paperwork and not follow through with their procedures. Following this we have moved into a new home in which was held up as Bridgfords rang to advise that my partner was not on the tenancy, so refused to give my partner a reference. Luckily, our new agent accepted our application as we provided the evidence that we did go through procedure to change our tenancy and show that we did not lie on our application. Sent a complaint to Bridgfords and their reply was they are not taking responsibilty and also changed their story to make out that they did no wrong. Will never hear from me again and will make sure everyone I know avoids too.

Lee was resilient and did not give up despite the numerous set backs and refusals from lenders due to both my finances and of course the pandemic. He kept me well informed along the way and guided me throughout the process. He not only did his research to find me a suitable lender who would match my needs, but looked into my concerns of Stamp duty and Capital gains Tax. Our mortgage journey began in July last year, my partner wanted to move home and at the time I was really unsure as I had a lot of emotional attachments to our home and I wasn’t convinced that I could leave them behind. I very nearly cancelled my phone appointment with Lee, however after briefly speaking with him I thought that there was no harm in discussing the potential house move / mortgage with him. There was absolutely no pressure from Lee and his main interest was that we made the right decision for us and that he would be there to help whichever path we chose.
I remember writing down the pros and cons to moving under Lees advice and it was from then that I decided I was ready to take the plunge!
Being a mortgage underwriter myself, I was questioned by others about why I even needed a mortgage advisor. My main reasons were that I wanted as much stress to be alleviated as possible knowing from experience what the mortgage journey can sometimes be like. I also wanted to know that we were getting the best deal and type of mortgage that suited us, and this was not something I dealt with in my role.
Throughout our journey Lee supported us on numerous houses offers that we made, however as our house had not yet sold these offers were continually rejected. However Lee remained positive and told us to simply keep going and that everything would eventually all fall into place.
When we sold our home and finally got an offer accepted on a house that we fell in love with, Lee was straight on with everything. He was extremely well organised and I even commented on his attention to detail, something that can often be a pain point in my role having worked alongside many mortgage brokers. Lee always made time to talk, there was never a time too late or a day inconvenient - even when it was outside of his normal working hours.
We went through life, buildings and contents insurance with Lee and we ended up taking new policies out including income protection which we had never considered before. When going through the insurances Lee was extremely knowledgable and brought everything to life which made everything relatable. Little did we know at the time, my partner had a back injury, which having taken out income protection came as a relief to us. Luckily we didn’t need to use this, however if it wasn’t for Lee I honestly don’t think we would have even considered taking out this policy.
On the whole, Lee was really professional, friendly, upfront and honest. We built a really positive relationship with Lee who we will definitely turn to again for advice when needed on relation to our mortgage.

This has to be worst lettings agency I have ever been with only lived here a short space of time I haven’t had running water been able to wash my clothes all throw the pandemic of COVID away from my family become ill recent so can’t drive now till further notice I have been stuck in this house not been able to use the sink in kitchen the wash plates can’t use cooker because water is running underneath the cooker by the electrics kitchen floods every day have gone through money I don’t have buying food that doesn’t need cooking, replacing towels and clothes witch have gone moldy getting into debt due to this, and this has been going on 2 lockdowns now I am fuming mental and physical drain for this all, it’s has been going on for months now and I feel I have just been lied to every time and it’s only since I email how discussed I am about the matter and how it’s at human and environmental health issues I got call on my phone, so I wait in all day waiting again for someone to come sort a issue that could of been sorted a long time ago, to have no one show up again! So I rang to see what’s happening again?! to be spoke to like they didn’t give a dam about what I said or how I feel or how it’s affecting my mental and physical health and not to mention how hard theses time are and the strict hygiene needed and I get even wash up or uses my washer or use my cooker even for Christmas Day am so upset by this all for months this has been going on I am not happy as you can tell no ones even mention about replacing my clothes either, it’s very upsetting

They take the money from landlords but they do not fulfill their contract. They are theiving manipulating company and I would stay far away from them unless you want your property stealing. As a single male looking to extend my interest only mortgage into my seventies, the help provided by Lee Johnson was significant. I am an expat, I have issue in my property but despite multiple remainder(going on for more than 2 months) there was no response from Bridgford.
There was water leakage from property next door which caused dampness and forming mould underneath the floor, we kept on following up and request for floor replacement, but no response from Bridgford or the landlord. My little one is affected by this and have got breathing problem because of this.
But when there was water leakage to the business running below (yet to be looked it) then they started following up with me to know what the issue is, still no fixes on the issues which I reported.
I wouldn't recommend Bridgford to my friends.

As a family we instructed Bridgfords to deal with the sale of my Mum's house. She had lived in the property for 50 years and ill health forced a move closer to family.
We had several estate agents visit, choosing a mixture of high street and internet but only Bridgfords stood out for us. Although a little more expensive that other agencies, we needed a firm who would provide a first class, traditional service which is what Mum wanted and is what we got.
Alex and Elaine were simply outstanding with their professionalism and understanding of the situation we were in. They were kind, courteous and beyond patient with my Mum and understood how difficult it was for Mum to make this move.
Mum's house needed some modernisation but essentially was a sound property and would make a wonderful family home: Bridgfords saw the potential in this and marketed the property so effectively that we were under offer within 2 days of the open day. The sale completed without any issue.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Bridgfords in Halifax to anyone.

Bad service- they didn't attend the viewing.
I arranged a viewing and was given a verbal and text confirmation of time etc. Bridgefords didn't show up or answer any calls to explain why. The landlord lived next door to the property we were meant to be viewing. He was very embarrassed to explain that the property was no longer on the market even. He had said Bridgford's poor service had meant he had left the agency.

What can I say other than amazing service. Bought a house and as first time buyer wasn't sure what to expect but Bridgfords kept us up to date throughout and even went the extra mile to help us chase our solicitors which we were sturggling to contact due to our work schedules.

We looked at a property with Bridgfords but didn’t like it. Despite this we were offered some mortgage advice. It was the best advice we could have had.
We spoke to Lee Johnson, who quickly sourced us a mortgage offer. We found a house and the process was simple. Unfortunately this house fell through, so we spent the next few months finding another. Lee kept our file open and when we found another house, the fees we had paid were still on the account and we even received a refund for the searches as the original search on the house that fell through was not used as the process was cancelled so efficiently.
We have just exchanged on our new home and would like to thank Lee for all his help and assistance throughout the process.

Lee was recommended to me by my oldest friend. She and her partner used him for their mortgage and were very happy with him.
I found Lee to be very enthusiastic whilst helping me, almost as a friend would be, excited that I had found a house and doing everything he could to help me get it.
Being a first time buyer, it was nerve wracking going through this process but knowing that Lee was working behind the scenes all the time was great. I also used Countrywide's solicitors at Lees' recommendation, making it so much easier for him to check up on progress and chase up anything that was necessary. The portal system that is used is great as it enabled me to see what was still outstanding and how much was left to do, but Lee also kept me updated by email and phone.
Apart from the actual house, Lee was the best money I spent during this process, and will recommend him to anyone who asks, I doubt I could have done it without him.

Absolutely shocking letting agents.....slack set up and even slacker staff. Theres many more better agents to go through dont touch bridgefords with a barge pole. Over so many years we've had so many problems with reporting repairs they just never get back in touch.... and when your waiting 2 month for a smoke detector to be replaced speaks volumes, and that's having chased it twice a week . So as in many replays re how customer service is important to them...they need to buckle there ideas up. Do your research theres a lot more reviews re bridgefords dont settle with Google's.

After reading all the reviews we were really eager to work with this broker (I won't put the name) and was recommended to me. During our time with the broker we understand that work was carried out to help us but we always felt that our case was not at the forefront and communication was lacking. Even when we were told they didn't think they could get a deal for us we heard nothing else from this broker as a follow up. We felt as first time buyers , we were swept under the rug and not valued. Myself and my partner were trying so hard to get a mortgage for the dream house we wanted and had limited time and we felt we were constantly chasing this broker and they did not give our case a lot of attention.
Fortunately we found an amazing broker who works for a different company who has got us an amazing deal and who has worked so hard for us. Unfortunately we did not get the same experience with the broker who works for Bridgfords.

I would just like to say what a great service I was provided with by Lee Johnson the senior mortgage and protection consultant at Bridgfords Halifax. My wife and I had originally visited to accompany our daughter who was looking to get on the property ladder and see what advise he could offer her. At the end of consultant Lee asked about our own mortgage that we had never looked at changing. He was able to improve our mortgage by keeping our payments at the same amount but reducing our term from 11yrs to 9yrs (saving us circa £9000) and also getting us on a fixed rate for 5yrs. He work attitude is excellent as is his service and his ability to assist with everything including the paperwork so you have no worries on filling in anything wrong. He is a friendly and warmly welcoming person and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone else for similar services. My wife and I have both been left feeling like we have known Lee for years and we have already spoke to him about reviewing the mortgage in 41/2 yrs to look at completing our mortgage as soon as possible after that.

I can't rate Bridgfords highly enough. If you're a first time buyer (or even an existing owner) and you want to get onto a great deal then make sure to see Lee Johnson! He helped make it possible to buy my home, get onto a good affordable mortgage along with life policies and home insurance - he put everything in place. After I was settled for 2 years he got back in touch and helped me re-mortgage - thus knocking off FOUR years off my 25 year mortgage on an even better deal. Not only that but he requoted the home insurance and life policies I had in place to include more benefits and at cheaper prices!
Getting onto the property ladder and arranging everything is daunting to say the least however, Lee made all this easy, and possible, with his excellent customer skills.
Honestly, forget going to the banks directly with these affairs. Go to Bridgfords instead!

We met Alex the branch manager after we had a valuation from another agent who just talked about bridgfords in a bad way which I thought was highly unprofessional. My experience of Bridgfords Halifax in buying our retirement flat was excellent. As everybody knows, selling your home can be quite stressful and a bit of a mine field deciding who to go with, but after meeting and talking with Alex, he had given us what we thought was a realistic valuation, we decided to go with Bridgefords.
An open day was planned and glossy brochures made ready. We left everything in their hands. They organised viewings, notified us via email, gave feedback and possible ways forward.
After our first buyers suddenly withdrew their offer we were a bit downhearted. However, after a chat with Matthew we were soon up and running again and within a few days we had another offer. Matthew even managed to achieve the full asking price which was brilliant.
We completed in twelve weeks, which was amazing, and now we can look forward to our new life in France!

Thank you to Lee Johnson who contacted me after viewing a house in Huddersfield and wanting to put an offer in. Me and my partner;Dominic thought we had done our research and went to three different places including our banks and with it be a week before Christmas most offices were closing foe the holiday season and we didn't want to miss out on this lovely house.
Thanks to Lee is managed to knock our mortgage proposal from 33 years which was offered by our banks to 25 years with reasonable monthly payments. He helps you every step of the way and went out of his way to get us an appointment the Saturday before Christmas and squeezed us in around my different shift pattern and Dominic being in Huddersfield certain weekend as he lives at his parents in Blackburn.
Lee takes you through step by step and answers any questions you may have and he will advise on what he feels what's worth it rather than most business just wanting more commission.
From the start of the process to the end Lee followed through with us and even helped when communication came a bit sticky between our solicitors and the agency to help us understand where abouts in the process we were. In total it took just over 2 months to have everything completed and have a move in date.

My partner rented from here and the service was shocking charged for everything no matter how small and the could never get the landlord to fix anything properly he would do it as cheap as possible and Bridgfords would never help getting in contact with him and when ringing up even early u can never get through to them takes ages all in all will never go with them again

What a fantastic team of people! I intended to post something on here months ago but have been getting settled in the fantastic house Matt and the team helped us buy. From the beginning they were extremely friendly, helpful and professional and gave one of the most informative agent led viewings we had had. Matt was really excellent and was with us from start to finish to help us complete in time, they were also extremely accommodating given we lived over 200 miles away which meant that the process was as stress free as it could have been.
Although we were first time buyers we felt as valued a customer as if we were buying a mansion which was really excellent.
After having a previously terrible estate agent experience Matt and the rest of the team more than made up for it and we are really happy in our new property. They will certainly be the first estate agent I talk to when it comes to selling our own house.

Interest in the property was a bit slow at first but this was put down to the time of year the house was placed on the market (i.e. late Autumn/early Winter. However, once January arrived the house sold within a couple of months which was great. I would just like to thank Alex and his team for carrying out the property launches which were key to stimulating interest from prospective buyers, and for liaising with me regularly by phone and email with updates regarding feedback received from potential purchasers and progress generally concerning the sale. Bought my first house in March 2017.
Many thanks to Lee at Bridgford's in Halifax who went the extra mile and beyond!
Lee was very helpful and supportive and overall superb throughout the whole process.
From day one, everything was explained to me clearly and Lee removed away any stress.
This was kept simple by giving me the best options with honest advise for me to decide what's best for me and my family.
I had my mortgage done at Bridgford's by Lee apart of Countrywide Mortgages.
Countrywide/ Lee offered me the best deal which included in all the high street lenders. This cost me in total £399 after completion and compared to all banks it costs £500.
Bear in mind like all of us.
We work between 9-5.
Lee was very helpful and stayed back until 6.30pm many nights which in all fairness he didn't have too and I can't see any bank being that flexible.
Highly recommend Bridgford's for buying a family home or new house.
Recommend Lee for first time buyers or anyone needs a mortgage or remortgage.
Friendly smooth simple and the stress free process. Excellent professional services with honest advice giving you the best options to make your own decisions!

I would like to thank Alex Widdup for all the help, support and advice that he gave me on purchasing a property in Bingley. I sent an email request to look at a property back in September and he has been constant contact, keeping to his word with call backs and chasing up issues. I liked the personal touch that Alex gave and that he didn't ever treat me like another customer.
Alex had a very positive attitude and also went the extra mile to make sure things were done on time and efficiently. Linda in Bingley was lovely and also provided excellent service.

Bridgfords in Halifax recently helped to sell my house. They did an absolutely fantastic job. They provided us with several potential buyers, all of whom were interested in the property not time wasters.
The staff were always very friendly and very helpful, going well beyond what you would expect. They were on the ball at all times.
On the day of completion they even collected the keys for us for our new house from our sellers estate agents. This saved me having to trail into town at a very busy time.
