After listing our property with a well known “online” agency with the word Purple in its name the difference when listing with Bridgfords was night and day! Full of knowledge of the local market, second to none communications and just a general feeling that everyone cared about us has firmly set Bridgfords apart from its competition!
When Emma came to appraise our property, she turned up already armed with multiple suggestions on how to sell our property from the wording of our advert to the images we use for the listing - no one else from the other 3 major agents in the area compared! We were sold!
It wasn’t just Emma who excelled in our opinion, Richard was pivotal in getting our offer up to the value of what we wanted when it wasn’t looking like we were going to sell our property. Dealing with Katie over the phone has been brilliant, she’s super cheerful and really helpful and gets the job done every time. Fay, though, has stood out for us and I doubt you’ll find a better communicator in the business. Absolutely on the ball all the time and shared our frustrations when we had no shows but celebrated with us when we had interest, absolute credit to Bridgfords!!
We had a viewing and the person viewing our property was explaining to me that he was having issues with his agent I had no issues in instantly recommending Bridgfords to him and would without hesitation recommend them to anyone who asks for my opinion!

We decided to let our property out and make the move to Australia. This in its self was quite overwhelming! We initially had an experienced advisor take on our account which I felt confident that they could guide us through the process with ease. That representative left and we were then looked after by Rebecca who was fairly new at the time - this did in all honesty worry me as now we were both new! I shouldn’t have been worried at all! Rebecca handled every query we had with honesty, anything she didn’t know she would find out. She has been great throughout the process. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the sales side of the Wakefield branch. Initially I was very pleased with the level of service I received when putting my property on the market with the team, but after multiple issues regarding communication, property security etc thereafter and it resulting in a formal complaint in which I was happy with the outcome, I suggest to try another agent for any sales. I cannot comment on the letting side of things.

What an absolute waste of time they are. If 1 person is off nobody else knows what is happening and can’t help we have had to put the whole chain back by 2 weeks because of this but their buyer still wants to complete tomorrow - I would not recommend this company to anybody. Just spoken to the person who is dealing with sale (what an awful person she is) she blamed everybody else and had no interest in helping at all - there is a genuine lack of care. Me and my partner were struggling to find a mortgage advisor who would give us reasonable help, who was there whenever we had any questions or needed any advice. We then found David, he is amazing! No question was too silly, and I ask a lot of questions that may seem silly to some!! AVOID - Bunch of liars. I was viewing several houses (on behalf of my friend who want to move from London to Wakefield area) and story is all over the same. Last viewing was at Monday 25th July and I've been told that agency lady will speak with landlord and will send application to us. Next day (Tuesday) we called to the agency as we still waiting for application for the property and they said that there is no contact with landlord as he is on holidays and they will call us as soon they contact with the owner. Today my friend called them again if there is any further info and he was told that property is already under offer. How the hell this is happen? When???! They lying about everything, wasting of our time, they discriminate people not even sending applications. They will tell you that "I call u back" and they never will. First they saying they want to be fair for every potential tenant and suddenly house is gone...!!!? They don't have decency to even inform that house is gone or viewing taking place (happen before), as we can easily put holding deposit without viewing even with paying 3 months upfront as they want to be FAIR to other potential tenants but in the end they just IGNORE YOU. This is not first time and apparently friend of mine is banned because he called them back saying straight what he think about this agency and situation and they didn't like it... True hurts! AVOID at all time. Disgrace and no competency whatsoever.

Would highly recommend! I found the house through Rightmove but bridgfords helped at everystep of the way, from quickly arranging my viewings and relaying messages to the vendor same day. Megan in particular is a gem - she chased the solicitors and ensured everything was on track, even though I chose to go without a mortgage advisor who would normally have done the chasing. AVOID!! They wouldn't let me view a property with out making an appointment with someone to see if I was financially viable first! It was a standard mid terraced offers over 90 so it's not like I was being over ambitious.... think its ridiculous you have to disclose financial information before they let you even view! Even when you have your mortgage in principal it's not good enough! No one else in this area does this

TENANTS AVOID
Will charge you £150 for "professional cleaning" upon termination of tenancy when in fact the "cleaner" on the invoice is a Property Manager at Bridgfords themselves!
The invoice provided was invalid as they dated it in the future, it looks fake and Bridgfords could not provide any evidence that this clean was actually carried out apart from this dodgy invoice. Very suspicious activity going on here. Property Ombudsman is looking into this case now.
Edit in response to below:
We were told in an email that Judith Hunter is the name of the cleaner that they use as a contractor. It is not a coincidence that they have a Property Manager with the exact name working for them, so yes Bridgfords do carry out the cleaning themselves. They have also still not addressed the fact their invoice is invalid.
I also know that the new tenants of the property were unhappy with the clean Judith carried out, if she actually carried out any cleaning at all.
If you are thinking of renting from this agency, I would highly suggest you look elsewhere.

We know for a fact now that no cleaning was actually carried out afterwards. This agency have committed fraud, an investigation is underway. Property Mark and The Property Ombudsman are now involved, as well as Trading Standards.

When we moved in the property was in a uninhabitable state, we brought this to the attention of the staff when we moved in and stated we would clean the property ourselves. £200 later and we moved in.
Fast forward 2 years and we moved out, now they try charging us £150 for wiping a door frame, changing a toilet seat and cleaning an oven. This has gone on for over 2 month now and we are no closer to a solution. I would tell anyone to never use these and if you must, take photos of everything. Do not call as they say they will do something and don't. Get everything written down in emails. Do not spend a penny on the property yourself as they will screw you over when you move out.
Tldr, had to pay £200 to clean at the start, being forced to pay £150 to clean at the end.
In response to the message from brigfords, we sent the invoice over to bridgfords on 5 seperate occasions after we moved out. The inventory is dated 1 day after we moved into the property.
The property was not professionally cleaned as shown on our check in inventory.
The 'professional cleaner' which bridgfords used is actually a manager for the branch, and the company is not registered anywhere.
This is a chain of fraud which bridgfords are commiting, the previous tenents before us were charged for an oven cleaning and charged as the fridgefreezer needed defrosting. This was not done and we had to pay for a professional to come clean the oven. It also turns out the new tenets have had to pay for the property to be cleaned and we have photographic proof that neither bridgfords nor Judith Hunter has done any cleaning yet charged over £100!

We had been renting our property with another company which had been difficult and stressful over the years. Last year, we decided to sell, and chose Bridgfords. We dealt with the wonderful Alex who was fantastic and quickly found us a buyer. Unfortunately, the flat was unable to be sold, (fire protection regulations) and so we went through lettings until the works are completed. The lettings team found us a tenant really quickly. There has been no stress or drama, and we don't have to chase for information.
The works to the building haven't started yet, and our tenants are moving at the end of next month as they have bought their first home. Kate and her brilliant team are already lining up our next tenants with an increase in rent.
Bridgfords have been professional, competent and pleasant to deal with. (A real departure from the previous company!) Whether selling or renting, we would recommend the team over in Wakefield.

So where to start…. The estate agent Jack I have to give a special thank you for all your help and Alex for her occasional intervention but to be totally honest , this estate agency are attached to a erroneous solicitors countrywide , which in my opinion stay well away.I bought a house via this estate agent and because of their direct link with countrywide is became a total shambles. What should have sook 12 weeks maximum ( no chain ) became a almost 6 months task. Let me add this had nothing to do with covid and more with the total incompetence of the solicitor Simon Owen. Unfortunately, I would had to say avoid at all cost. The estate agents for the most part are brilliant but they are very limited because of their link with the solicitors !!!!!! 2 star is for the hassle and stress caused.

I had a valuation from another agent before I went on holiday and their advice would have lost me about £8000 on the sale. I asked Bridgfords for a valuation and whilst at the house, the valuer explained the sales strategy they recommended. It worked well and I received about eight offers. More information about each one was given to me and I was able to select the most suitable one. About two months after the first valuation, the agent enquired if I had decided how to proceed with the sale; they certainly had no drive or interest in my business! Bridgfords Estate Agents wakefields were brilliant excellent communications throughout the whole process, always helpful, and friendly, i gave up trying to contact my solicitors early on as it was impossible. Bridgfords were always accessible and absolute stars especialy Alex many thanks to the team.

Started off really well but very rarely kept informed of progress ongoing. Staff were friendly but I had to constantly phone in to get updates, it felt like nobody was actually following things through and they were just very re-active. There was a real confusion when Bridgefords appointed a representative for the conveyancing which ended up costing me far more in fees.

Bridgfords recently sold a property on my behalf. I found their service to be of the highest standard. Both Richard and Alex were extremely responsive to emails and telephone calls. This property was on the market with a previous agent for 6 months .... Bridgfords took over and sold it within 3 months after making constructive suggestions on how to improve its marketing. They found a cash buyer. I am currently in the process of utilising their excellent service again to market my current property. If you are searching for an agent to sell your property within a reasonable time and minimal hassle - I would recommend them highly.

Slow and unresponsive. I have tried to update names on my tenancy agreement for nearly 2 years but due to a complete lack of communication this never gets resolved. When they don't respond to emails it is then up to you to pick up the phone in order to get the job done. Unprofessional, could be due to a lack of training or staff numbers.

I would recommend David as a morgage adviser, from the day we told him we found the house, he was so helpful, he did everything possible for us, not to loose the house e.g. submitting all the necessary documents to the letting agent like straight away . And he was really good at pushing solicitors when everything seemed quite with no progress, when he misses a call, he will return the call and try to help you with everything you want. He was brilliant.

The one thing that I liked when searching for houses is that they did not try and "sell" me a mortgage appointment or advice as I had already sorted this out. This made a nice change and I was grateful for this. In addition, Alex helped me out a lot and was always very friendly and chatty with a good professional approach. She made the transaction easy and hassle free as well as keeping on the toes of the solicitors to ensure that the whole process did not drag on. I have nothing but excellent customer service from the start to contract exchange (under 5 months). We used the Wakefield branch where Alex, Vikki and Sarah (especially Sarah, you are a Star!).
They keep me up to date with progress with phone calls and emails at all times.
There had been small hiccups with getting the advertisement out on the net before Easter and the "Sold" sign changed after it had been sold. But it did eventually get resolved with no fault on Bridgfords part.
I can highly recommend them to anyone thinking of using a good local estate agent in Wakefield. They operate on a "No sale no fee" policy which is reassuring as well as they are always there to talk to or just drop in for a chat.
We had at least 8 quotes from other estate agents from high street to online, but decided to use Bridgefords based on the way they deal with the sales and the quote was reasonable, as well as based locally so any problems they can be reached to get a answer or resolution.
Our house was sold in 7 days after been on the market. The rest of time it is mostly waiting on solicitors to get the paper work together which is the norm in this situation. (Advice: keep chasing the solicitor for updates or they just sit on it )
Note: I do not have any links or hold any stocks and shares to Bridgfords and they did not pay me to write this review. It is all down to my own experience.

Poor knowledge of local buildings . Poor advice to myself as a purchaser. From viewing to failed purchase i dont have anything positive to report back. Extremely difficult to speak to anyone in the office. Phone is never answered. Lack of training of staff evident lack of staff on whole evident.

We sold our house with Bridgfords Wakefield over winter 2016/spring 2017. Had a few niggles right at the start getting the brochure correct but this didn't stop Bridgfords getting some early viewings organised. We also had a couple of mixed messages about the fee but were able to get these sorted quite quickly. That apart, communication has been good. Before the sale was agreed the team called with feedback after each viewing and came to the house for follow up meetings with us. The sale process itself took a long time for reasons we were never very clear about but Bridgfords have kept in close contact with us and with our buyer, and have been endlessly patient in chasing up progress on our behalf with the solicitors. I'm not sure where we would have been without their help at this part of the process so we have been extremely grateful for what they have done to get the sale over the line.

My experience with Bridgfords Wakefield is nothing short of an absolute disaster, quite literally the worst run company full of lies and bull s**t. To start the customer service or shal I say lack of people skills are dreadful they have a great skill of passing blame and fraudulent acts. I moved in to my property and nearly died after a gas leak from what a GSE said stevie wonder could of fitted better bodge job of a cooker. But apparently had the whole place checked. It was filthy and had to be re decorate ourselves the carpets were the type you wipe your feet on the way out. We had been given two sets of keys for the flat one set worked the other set were for another property. On asking for the correct set of keys were told 'oh I don't know where they are' by about 5 of the dreadful staff. Also had no key for our letter box and still don't six moths later but they sent someone round to bash it open and left it like a scene from saving private Ryan. Now on top of all the fantastic things about bridgfords we have a black mould problem that apparently is just our problem according to the lifeless sloth on the other end of the phone line. Over all if I could make the world a better place I would say AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I moved 2012 in a flat in Wakefield, everything went well. Got the flat all furnished ready to live in. From 2012, a few things needed doing in the flat but in between the problem (IE: Bedroom door was blocked) we had to call several times before getting somebody to the flat. After these few incidents I decided to leave the flat and also this agency. After 2 weeks I am still waiting for a reference for them which takes 1h to create for my new house (my new agency and myself called several times already). Since then I can't move into my new house as planned by the new agency and hopefully but not done yet I will move in tomorrow...
Very little or no communication. When they need you, you need to be here if not they charge you but when you need them you got to wait ages...
