Worst letting agent i've ever dealt with in Hampshire/Dorset border if not UK. They breach laws, ignore email communications & phone calls. Don't understand regulations of their industry & run by 18 year old girls. Left me very ill, frustrated & tired with their poor management. Avoid like plague!... Read more

I am posting this review, having just moved out of a property they "manage". I use the term manage very loosely.
We have just moved out of the above property after 2 1/2 years, having become so frustrated with its status. I will first however remark that the issues of this period of time weren't completely caused by Brightwater.
The Landlords being a syndicate, whose spokesperson was a completely inept individual and clearly out of her depth with the task of her given role.
That said, a high turnover of staff at Brightwater (where almost on a monthly basis we would learn of another staff member that we'd communicated with, had left the company), coupled with an overall low desire to maintain a decent level of communication with us as tenants, made our period of time at this property constantly frustrating, stressful and challenging.
The main issue with the property was the fact that it suffered with severe mould issues, however given the fact we moved in at the start of a summer, this wasn't obvious and not disclosed by Brightwater.
When the mould started to become a problem, it was clear that a little financial investment in improving the property was required.
When we approached them about
this, Brightwater initially accused us of causing the issues in the first place, despite us having photographic evidence of old mould damage that had been painted over when we moved in, in addition to not only the next door neighbour confirming existing issues with mould, but even the handyman hired by Brightwater who had looked after the property for the last few years!
If we'd not been relentlessly persistent in pursuing Brightwater(countless emails) to get the problems rectified, these issues (blown windows, no trickle vents, inadequate insulation in the loft, no extractor fan in bathroom or extractor hood in the kitchen), Brightwater would never have pressed for the work to be done themselves.
Our new property agents luckily appear to be a breath of fresh air and their level of communication with us is a clear step above, and have instantly rectified .
In summary, I would never go through Brightwater again and would definitely not recommend them to anyone.... Read more

I can not recommend this company highly enough, especially there head of sales Jen, she worked tirelessly on our behalf as the buyers, and secured us our dream home at a phenomenal price. She truly went above and beyond and nothing was too much to ask for! I would only use her and this firm in the future!... Read more
