I cannot thank Ian and Oliver enough for all their hardwork patience and kindness selling my house in St Albans. It took over a year due to the unique configuration of the house and I was very stressed and anxious throughout.

It took several fallen through sales before the sale of my Mum's house to go through and Carter Hayward were patient, professional and helpful throughout. At the time we were selling, I lived 50 miles away from my Mum and it was important to us that she felt 100% comfortable with the agent, which she did with these guys. In fact, she described them more than once as 'lovely'! The eventual sale wasn't the smoothest, but they were in constant touch and an effective go between with us and the buyers. Despite a difficult market and several sales that fell through, Oliver and the Team remained positive and helpful throughout, with us selling the property to the 3rd buyer. I’m sharing our experience as a buyer that has recently purchased a property through Carter Hayward. We found Oliver to be very difficult and unapproachable. He honestly made the whole experience very stressful for our family. We found Ian to be much more helpful and pleasant however as Oliver is the director almost everything has to go through him. We cannot speak from a sellers perspective, but knowing how he speaks to and treats potential buyers we would not recommend this company to anyone.

The house sold in about 8 weeks.
This is a short synopsis as to how it went...
A time-frame was agreed and the house subsequently went on the market @ £1,150.000.
I was surprised over the high-level of viewings (and offers) that started to follow.
The whole experience was just sublime,, from the floor plans, the EPC, the photos, the brochure, the marketing, the Conveyancer - all services (and firms) recommended by Carter Hayward.
It was so refreshing, with no stress at all, to deal with all these professionals and that's really down to Carter Hayward!

We saw four St Albans agents all of whom were completely useless in understanding what we wanted and substantially out on valuations.[see below]. We then contacted Carter Hayward and met Oliver Squires. His approach was what we wanted, and valuation was spot on.
We sold the house to the first viewer who offered the asking price immediately, and we accepted and cancelled the five viewings for the next day. We did not want to be greedy, just sell the house for what we thought was a sensible price. The sale price was £85000 more than one agent's amount.
Throughout the selling process Oliver and Ian have been professional, prompt, polite, patient and actively helpful. They have kept the process stress-free.
We thoroughly recommend them, they have an active prescence in Bricket Wood and achieving many sales and lettings.

Just completed on purchase of our new home in Bricket Wood. We were advised by Mark to look at the property, even though it looked above our budget. Thankfully we took his advice , and were able to negotiate through him an offer which was acceptable.
Oliver took over the final weeks of completion. He arranged further viewings when we asked, contacted the seller to answer questions we had, and overall helped for a quick and efficient purchase. We had spent months searching Bricket Wood and surrounding areas through all the various agents. We were late in recognising how much expertise CH have on Bricket Wood, which was always our target area. Thankfully, we got there in the end!
