about the most eerie place i’ve ever visited. near the skyscrapers and around the town u’ll find about nobody. everything is dead and odd (inna vibe sense) idk it was rlly picturesque tho but felt heavily odd. i can’t lie, i was glad when i passed it.

If you IOD, you know. Despite the skyscrapers, it's a very quite and chill little Island. An oasis in London, the farm is always a must as see river side walks.

Best place to live with your family. I have lived in Wood green, Leyton, Walthamstow and this place is heaven compared to other parts of London. When you come here you don't feel that you are in this overcrowded city. You are in other dimension. Park with a farm with free access, the river, small shops, big ASDA , very good children centre, nurseries, schools and even colleges you can find in walking distance. The transport is with DLR but still you are just 2 stops to Canary wharf and the underground station.

Eclectic and historical. The Isle of Dogs has surprises round every corner. From the oldest pub on the island dating from 1722, the launch slipway of the SS Great Eastern to awesome views of the Cutty Sark at Greenwich. Canary Wharf is in splendid contrast with the older island buildings.

Definitely not full of dogs. Wasted a whole day from Weston super Mare to visit what I thought would be an entire island of dogs. I saw one man walking a black Labrador but that was it, how misleading is this placename? Wish I could give it 0 stars. Not worth your time if you're looking for lots of dogs.

I loved it here great place I remember when it was busy with the docks and big cruise ships coming in when I was a child went to school here had a great time with great people.. easily accessible now with public transport links there is a lot going on.

The majority of the reviews I have read here refer to Canary Wharf and not the entire Isle of Dogs. Yes, Canary Wharf is the Manhattan of London and contains the skyscrapers and the shopping centres but there is much more to the island that just the modern bits. There are some great walks around the island. If you walk around the outside you see some fantastic views of The Thames, the O2, Greenwich and The site of the launch of Brunel's Great Eastern and The City. River life can be very interesting. The foot tunnel to Greenwich is fascinating. Have a look on the Isle of Dogs side for the narrow bit of the tunnel. That's where it was repaired following bombing during WW2. Walking around the inner docks, you can still see much of the machinery that was used when the Island was working docks. And of course it wouldn't be the Isle of Dogs without mentioning Mudshute farm where there sheep, pigs, horses all within a stones throw of the skyscrapers. Isle of Dogs is an incredible part of London. Whilst parts may be new, there are some very interesting historic areas as well. You could easily take a day out just to explore the Island.

Beautiful area with beautiful buildings and location. Neat, clean and peaceful area. Good communication with city by DLR, buses and boats. Lots of parks, shops and superstores around here. There are good schools and couple of university as well.

Great travel links with DLR running through it and 277/D6/D7.
Mudchute Farm is here as well as many parks and the Musemn Of Docklands. The only thing I don't like is the many developments being built here and most locals being priced out of the area.I grew up here and I remember a time when no sod wanted to live here now every sod with deep pockets wants to live here.
I also like the history of the place,but I LOVE the East End and all its history anyway.
Asda;Tesco's and Waitrose and Co op is here too.

I can honestly say that this is the place where I prefer to live, of all the place I have lived before. Very contemporary living, with all amenities inmaginable. One moment you are standing between skyscrapers and a bit later you are in Mudchute park. No greater contrast. I could have lived here for the rest of my life.
