I called the cottons management team and explained I am looking to purchase a flat (probate sale) with short lease and if cottons could direct me to whom I can request an idea of the lease extension ? The reply was astonishingly confrontational and very unprofessional. I was told in a arrogant tone of voice that we can not give any details to you has you are not the owner and in order to buy a lease extension, you must have owned the flat for over 2 years ? I again politely explained that from July 24th the Leasehold reform act comes into force from 24/7/24, and one of the sections cancels the 2 year wait, however this arrogant member didn’t want to listen. I cannot believe cottons, who have been around for many years and are normally very highly regarded in the property markets could employ such people incompetent people.... Read more

Service management of residential building ( block of flats). Absolutely wile, no manners, attitude. They don't take care of the building, neglecting it, when reporting issues, they have horrible attitude. Highly argumentative, even go as far as telling you that we are making things up. Asking then how long will it take to fix the issue, answer: it will take as long as it takes. Absolutely disgusting.... Read more

Cottons have been managing the block of flats i live in for a few years now. Ill be writing my second formal complaint to them today as they have not responded to emails during February and phone calls from myself and another neighbour. The issues we've been contacting about concern grounds maintenance and repairs, basic management issues that really should be the bread and butter of 'managing' a block of flats. Why it has to be a formal compliant before they act I don't know. The service used to be much better and has declined significantly.... Read more

From the time the Tree Survey was completed on 19th September 2023 at Louis Court, I can now provide an update to confirm that following my request to remove preferably and ideally all 6 of the surrounding trees which in my view was the correct and best option and presented a real danger which is totally avoidable and many years of inconvenience and mess. I can confirm that 4 Lime Trees were put forward for consultation with the owners for the tree work to be carried out and the remaining 2 trees, a Sycamore and a Maple Tree unfortunately was not included for this consultation which was solely as a result of one of the 2 Directors Yvonne for the RTM company for Cottons basically not agreeing for those 2 trees to be included to be cut down as well so they still remain on site. The only part of the Sycamore Tree that was cut was the brambles only at the very bottom which I requested due to how widespread this grows and can quickly get out of control. Apart from the bottom as described no other trimming took place above and the Maple tree was not touched as no form of trimming took place on this tree at all which borders South Road close to Holly Street. The 4 Lime Trees were removed on Wednesday 17th January, Thursday18th January and Friday 19th January. I had a resident specifically ask “why was the Maple Tree left” which clearly indicates that it looks completely out of place. Should the 2 trees that remain on site present any problems in the future then serious questions need to be raised as to why those trees were not removed because of an irresponsible person making seriously poor choices which is not in the best interests of all residents....
