Replying to your question.
I had an excellent experience before moving in. However, when I moved in, there were a number of issues.
1. Kitchen lights were not fixed for a month
3. 3rd day of moving in, I was told the flat is for sale. I wasn't made aware of this at the time of viewing, but JL did not accept this, despite me complaining about it, I heard nothing back. It caused unnecessary stress of moving out early, etc.
4. Charges made to my deposit were enormous. Which was resolved through the dispute scheme. All of the caused stress and bittered the whole process and experience.

As my first experience engaging with an estate agent to manage my rental property, I have found James Laurence to provide a swift, helpful and engaged service. They are easily contactable via phone within opening hours, usually have an agent that becomes familiar with your property/situation meaning you do not need to re-explain any ongoing issues each time you call, and are able to act quickly and decisively to deal with any problems that may arise. After a leak occurred at mine, an emergency contractor was swiftly despatched to mitigate the damage before it became serious, which is my main reason for both recommending them and writing this review. I have to recommend ebey person I have spoken with so far, thank you!

Jamie at James Laurence was so helpful and professional. My partner original viewed the apartment before i could see it. Jamie went above and beyond and went out of his way to ensure i could view it once we had accepted. Whilst transitioning over again Jamie took the time to allow up to come in and measure up for some of our furniture and continued to touch base regularly with us to ensure we were happy. Jamie is extremely friendly and chatty which made the whole experience very easy and there was nothing that he would not do to ensure we had everything we wanted and needed before moving. Had a fantastic experience with James Laurence Estate agents throughout the purchase of my new property. The Edgbaston team are simply great. Reece in particular, handled everything for me, kept me up to date and informed, basically nothing was too much trouble.
I found everyone in the office unbelievably helpful, from telephone advice to arranging convenient visits.

It's unfortunate that it took me 6 calls and almost 3 weeks to arrange a viewing. Everytime I was told that they will call me after speaking to the tenants to let me in but never got a call back. Every time I had to remind them. And when I arrived for the viewing it was very disappointing to be told the keys they had were not working on the lock and they will rearrange the viewing. A day off work wasted. I could have accepted it but then again no follow up call for rearranging the viewing and I feel that in 4th week I am back to square one.
