Atrocious and unprofessional business. Any decent landlord would avoid like the plague, tenants beware. To future tenants, we made the mistake that not every complaint or conversation was written or recorded at the beginning of the tenancy, if you have to use this company I urge you must only recieve email correspondence from them so you have your own back. The owner is extremely confrontational, rude and arrogant, you will regret not listening to this advice. Our flat had debt (from previous tenants) of over £150 in the gas meter that we were not told about and had to pay ourselves. When my roommate was moving out, the owner phoned her and badmouthed me to warn her about who she chooses to live with for no reason. We found a large bag of needles and drug paraphernalia in the kitchen (they do not charge for finding a tenant, in other words for they put anyone in these flats!). Exposed pipes that sporadically froze throughout winter leaving us with no running water were not properly repaired until 3 months later. None of the walls were insulated and heating it was like throwing money down a hole, all of the windows were wrongly fitted and draughty. Our shower was left leaking into the business below for weeks. We complained multiple times in person about the mould problem and how freezing cold the house was but nothing would ever get fixed or it would get 'looked at' and then forgotten about. Anything wooden or leather turned green and mouldy in the flat, anything metal will rust and start to corrode and pit, we found out our mattress and countless of my clothes were ruined as well when moving and we hadn't even lived there for two years. If you were unlucky enough to catch the owner she would patronisingly tell you that there is no problems in the flat and that they fall on us as tenants, you will be told to leave windows open 24/7 in winter due to mould and heat the house 24/7 in a cost of of living crisis with no insulation. In the end we decided to stop complaining about anything at all because we didn't have the time or energy to deal with the owner or constantly nag her agents. I am sure the only type of landlords who willingly use Countrylet are ones who are happy to sit and get their rent every month whilst doing nothing and hearing nothing about the property. We were advised to seek for damages from citizens advice but we would rather run a mile from this company as soon as possible to save our sanity.... Read more

Awful letting agents. Lady accused me of not paying rent and then accused me of swearing on the phone when they discovered the rent had been paid - she lied in order to cover up her error and confrontational attitude on the phone. This particular lady would periodically come out to visit/check my flat and her insincere, smarmy, patronising attitude was a bit of a trial, to say the least. If there are any problems in the flat they become your responsibility and your fault. Will do anything to avoid paying out any money. Run a mile!... Read more

Highly recommend using this company to sell a property. I sadly had to sell my mums house after she died. I live in England and with the Covid restrictions in place this made a difficult task even harder. The owner explained the way the Scottish system operates as it is different in England. This was extremely helpful and she suggested we went with a fixed price, which we did. Photos of the property were taken promptly and within 2 days of the photos being marketed Country let had a number of viewings organised and after the second viewing they had secured a higher offer that we were happy with. Throughout the process the staff kept me fully informed. The owner continually chased the solicitors throughout and knew more about what was happening than the solicitors. Nothing was too much trouble for either the owner or the staff in the office. Professional, efficient and polite throughout. Highly recommend.... Read more

Can't believe I've had to click one star just to write this. Shocking company!!! Can't do repairs on time. Takes them 6months to fix a shower my 80 year old grandad could do in an hour. Neighbourhoods being ruined by some of the tenants they are letting in. Police and anti social team out to more country let tenants. Don't care longs they rent the flats out to any Tom Dick and Harry it doesn't matter. Yes and please do the get me started on "breach of confidentiality" talking about other tenants personal life etc whilst in carrying out a house inspection!!! I have more professionalism in my left pinkie. Best to be avoided. You be better off staying in a cardboard box!!... Read more

Absolutely terrible letting agent I am currently pregnant and have an almost 2 year old little girl, my husband also suffers with asthma we are currently living in a property that has untreated water damage in almost every room, we have spoken with this company on several occasions regarding this and other repairs that need done and still nothing in fact they have known about it for 3 months! The manager or owner of this company is both rude and manipulative she came to inspect my home when I was Ill with the flu after me asking her not to show. She then proceeded to tell me how my decor was disgusting and my flat was vile which in my opinion is far from true except the damages that need repaired she shouted at me and laughed in my face all while I was ill and home alone with my daughter and due to this I was left in tears (pregnancy hormones) I for one can't wait to get out of here and I would advise everyone to steer clear!!!... Neighbourhoods are ruined by this company and the Tenants they allow into their rented properties. I, along with other locals, have been forced out of our homes or being forced to live miserably. Police and Council are constantly called out to Countrylet residences. Having viewed one of their properties I realise they don't care who they house (I chose to rent a neighbouring flat with another company) as when viewing the Countrylet property I enquired how long and how much the reference checks would take only to be told if I paid £50 I could avoid being vetted at all! I am currently in the process of moving along with 1 other tenant, in a block of 6, after 1 has already moved because of this company. I have spoken to a local family who are being forced to endure the same anti-social, disruptive and threatening behaviour from Countrylet Tenants because they own their terraced house and now cannot sell. All of these people and myself included have called the Estate Agent numerous times to complain only to be hung up on, ignored or lied to. They obviously have as much profesionalism as their tenants have consideration for others. NEVER buy or lease a property from this company and certainly NEVER buy or lease a house next to a Countrylet Tenant.... Read more
