After my wife speaking with Nick on the phone numerous times and building a good rapport with him, we went to see a property in Comet Way, Christchurch. We were assured by Nick that we would have first refusal as we were first to see, we agreed to take it and didn’t refuse, we then discussed our options, provide books for two years as I’m self employed or gave a guarantor. Upon leaving he assured us that we could move forward with the property if we gave the guarantor details first thing in the morning. Within an hour of getting home we received an email to say he wouldn’t let to us as I didn’t have two years accounts, despite a guarantor trumping all of this, I had also offered a larger deposit or a full year in advance all of this which were turned down. I really wouldn’t trust nick or any of the Fahren staff, Nick obviously is a charlatan and is not a man of his word, stay away from Nick and Fahren letting agents. As a helpful hint to all future self employed tenants arranging their tenancy with Fahren letting agents, if you have less than 2 years accounts they will not accept a Guarantor, 12 months deposit in advance or an insurance based deposit scheme.

I have been dealing with Nick Belbin when he sold us a flat in Bournemouth in 2009 for our Daughter. Then we went into the rental market where fahrens have guided us through this process . Overall I would say that this agency are reasonably fair towards their tenants. Initially I did have issues trying to change the rent payment date with themselves when I initially moved but after three months, they decided to work with me after showing that I'm a reliable tenant, etc.

Over the past 9 months of living here I have the pleasure in dealing only with Nicholas who is more than a credit to this company. He is emphatic, understanding and above all has good, humble ethics.

In a way I have seemed to develope some sort of empathy over time with letting agencies as some tenants fail to understand that it's the landlords who have the final say on most issues regarding renewing tenancies or excepting offers, etc.

Nicholas, I will say this again. You are a real credit to Fahren Estate Agents and if I ever go into real estate, you'll be the first to know :)
