Reason citied - my wife might not clear the reference checks because she is currently not working.
Tried to reason that she is on a break post maternity and we should clear the financial checks, but they said that is what is enforced by their client - onecanalside cm2.

From start to finish they were all refreshingly helpful, professional and worked hard to find us the property that we were looking for .
Once we had found a property we were handed over to another team who made sure that the sale went smoothly. Hannah Potter from this team was amazing. She contacted our solicitor regularly and kept us in the loop via email and phone. First class service from Fenn Wright from the initial valuation right through to completion. Was very impressed with both Scott and Cameron and it made the whole sale process easy. Scott spend almost an hour with me on the valuation going through how everything worked and what we should market the property at and he was spot on. It actually achieved just over his valuation and i was very please with the figure we got. (Another estate agent on the same street valued the property at £20k-£30k lower - which i could not quite believe). They were always available over the phone or through email, with very quick responses and always very helpful.
Overall i highly recommend using Fenn Wright if youre looking to sell your property. For me, they have put abit more faith in my perception of estate agents.

ASTON OUR SAVIOUR. After months of been on the market with the so called "Leading Estate Agent" we were left feeling very down and dark, we had very little viewings, no feedback, no contact and we were left feeling like a forgotten client with the unsaleable home. after many arguments and doubt we took our home off the market and decided to just swallow that we were never going to sell, until we noticed a Fenn Wright for sale board on our road, and within 24 hours a sold board, so we made contact and were immediately dealt with by Aston who was extremely polite, professional, calm, relaxed and so knowledgable, my faith in estate agents had changed again after one phone call with this delightful gentleman, he agreed to meet with us and carry out a valuation and give us his honest opinion and thoughts which is exactly what we wanted.
On arrival Aston was as above, and quite frankly blew us away with he professionalism and knowledge and been retired professionals we have dealt with many people but none that even scratch the surface of Aston.
He had evidence of what he had sold within the area, names of who he could arrange to view and better yet he felt our property would sell very quickly and to top it off he felt the previous "leading estate agent" had undervalued the property and had missed out key marketing information, so we gave the opportunity to market our home and see if he could come up trumps, 36 hours later , £35,000 more than the other agent , he had sold our home to a beautiful young family and we completed within six weeks. we could not be happier and we will be forever grateful of Aston and we could not thank him enough for his 110% attention to detail, efforts and dedication. this gentleman is a true honour to Fenn Wright. I first come about Fenn Wright via a phone call to arrange a viewing for one of their properties, which is when i first dealt with Aston, he explained to me that he was unable to arrange viewings for me unless i was in a position to be able to buy, which at this time i was not. Aston took the time that other agents hadn't to explain to me the usual process and the way things work. at the time i was going through a not so straight forward separation and i had no idea on what route i should be taking other than what i could afford moving forward after the sale of the family home. Aston Kindly offered to meet with me and discuss what i needed to do, and help with the sale of my own property which needed to be sold. 4 months later Aston has not only been at the other end of the phone at any hour, he has assisted me and my ex in securing a sale and completion on our family home, a purchase for myself, and a rental for my Ex. I do not believe this separation and move would of happened if it was not for Aston, i could not recommend him or thank him enough for everything he has done, professional, polite, always contactable, and always pointed us in the right direction. if your ever thinking of selling then please contact Aston.

This is not our first time of dealing with Fenn Wright over the years for both purchase and sale and have found service, pricing and customer service very very good.
However it was the relationship that we built with Aston that we knew we would get the service we need. he was at a competitors agency when we met him but quickly became affiliated with him and the way he conducted his sale and client relationship, which of course to the advantage of Fenn Wright was when he moved, we obviously followed and put our last house on market with him which he sold (in pandemic) within 3 days!!! That has a lot do to with the negotiator and how he manages the sale all the way through to completion.
Never has he "sold and forgot" ..... highly recommend Fenn Wright but also Aston if you are needing an agent in Chelmsford and surrounding areas

My partner and I met Nathaniel today for a new rental property whilst relocating. From the morning of the viewing where we received a courtesy call to confirm the appointment and location, to when we left the property, Nathaniel was nothing short of professional, knowledgable and polite. selling a property for the first time i found it a minefield and had no idea on where to start, questions to ask, fees involved and quite frankly where to begin - i invited four agents to meet with me and look at my property and was just looking for honesty and someone that i got on with. Aston was the last agent that i invited over and quite rightly last but not least, he was honest, professional, answered all questions i had and actually told me things that i didn't even think about asking but are very important when it comes to selling and buying. Aston not only helped me with my worries and concerns about selling but he was also interested in what i was doing in the future, what i was buying, why i was moving and what i was looking for, others were more interested in selling my house than what i was actually doing or what i wanted. i could not recommend or shout enough about Aston and the whole team at the chelmsford office, everyone was polite, helpful and honest and clearly had my best interests in hand. the sale went through smoothly and efficiently and i cannot thank anyone anymore than Fenn Wright Chelmsford.

We had a particularly difficult sale due to well documented issues around flats and external cladding. I can genuinely say that Scott went above and far beyond in order to help get our sale over the line. He was always on hand to answer our questions and provide updates. Our lives were on hold and without the knowledge and expertise of Scott helping to co-ordinate between all parties I am confident we would not have been able to sell.

In my experience Aston Palmer displays an excellent knowledge of the local market, in terms of property values. It is an education chatting to Aston. If you are disposing of a property he will guide you through and discuss the many important aspects of marketing, thus enabling you to maximise the sale price of a property. Conversely, if you are buying it is important to be aware of the factors, and negotiate a successfully competitive purchase. Whether you are buying or selling, a five minute telephone call will yield dividends. It did for me.

FANTASTIC!! I can't express how great Fenn Wright was through the whole process. We agreed a sale in April and they was professional from day one when i spoke to Alison Spillane. Friendly and polite. Organised our viewings quickly. Nothing was too much.
We met our vendor directly and we had our offer accepted very quickly. They met with us for a second viewing to let us measure the property so we could be ready with our move.
They were so patient with the process of the sale and kept us and the vendor updated regularly. We had a few issues with the mortgage lenders and having to swap solicitors midway which was not ideal but again Alison was great. Did not push us or put any pressure on us. Even when we was on holiday allowed us to enjoy our time away and spoke upon our return.
I would highly recommend them to everyone if you are looking to buy or sell. I know we will be calling them to deal with my sale if and when we come to sell.

We are delighted with Fenn Wright in how they very successfully managed the very quick sale of our house. We dealt with Karl Manning when he was acting for the party from whom we were purchasing our current home. His ability to act as go between and drive all aspects of the sale and purchase with all parties left us with a great impression of him and Fenn Wright. So it was a no brainier when we came to sell our second home. Karl got the value and sales tactics absolutely spot on and again how he managed both parties and solicitors etc ensured a prompt sale and very happy purchasers and sellers. I used this agency twice and on both occasions I was very satisfied with their level of communication, professionalism and keeping us updated at every single step. On this occasion I would like to mention David Carter who worked above and beyond to ensure our sale goes through before Christmas. From day one, David came across as a very passionate and committed to his job and us as clients. He always been one step ahead of me when it came to undertake different tasks. David, did everything to make things run as quickly and smoothly as possible.
