There are so many scammers and charlatans in the rental game these days. So when a company comes along that is professional, courteous, and trustworthy, it's like a breath of fresh air.
Balgores seem to have got it right!
They obviously understand the customer - service dynamic and have addressed this by attending to their recruitment policy.
They seem to only employ exemplary people such as Jody Manno, who has been excellent throughout the rental process for us.

From the start of the process with the call handler triaging my call, through to the sale, it has been a delight to work with Allanah, Ellie & Sarah at Balgores in Chelmsford. Allanah was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, having done research and comparisons t9 show me beforehand.
We went through with the sale and all throughout the process, which is fraught with obstacles, the team were with us all the way. If I needed anything, they were there for me. As we approached the sale, Balgores were in touch with our buyers, our seller’s estate agents and solicitors and definitely helped smooth the path to the sale.

We sold our late parents home through Balgores Chelmsford and i highly recommend them. We had a few valuation quotes but Allannah stood out as being more genuine and understanding of our situation. Allannah, Joe and Ellie all worked very hard to make the sale go through and kept up excellent communication with us.
Personally I'd advise avoiding AVRillo if they're recommended for conveyancing. That was the only time the process became pressurised and stressful, and also very expensive. Go with someone local.

We've had continuous good property management service from Balgores. I addition, we've just had excellent service on reletting our property. Especial thanks to Bobbi Scott (PM), Jody Manno (Lettings) and Chris Ping. We've now been with Balgores for over 8 years.
We'd like to thank Mica for her very pro-active approach to finding tenants for our property. She's been great finding tenants each time we need to. In fact, within a day of advertising this time she had a tenant viewing the property....and just 10 days later the tenant had moved in. All very well managed.
She listened carefully to our needs, their needs and matched the two sides. She minimised the time between tenants for us, but allowed time for us to redecorate, whilst quickly solving the tenants' problem - their previous property had fallen through. Balgores have been our letting and management agents for 5 years and that has been a good choice on both sides.

Balgores Allannah at the Chelmsford estate agents is the most incredible and most pro active agent l have dealt with, and l sell property for a living, she is excellent and goes over and beyond for both seller and buyers. We cannot recommend Balgores enough. They are very professional and Alannah was so helpful from the initial enquiry to the completion of the sale. She has been available throughout to answer any queries and to put our minds at rest. One of the things we liked about Alannah was that she was honest from the outset and priced the property at a reasonable level to gain a sale as soon as possible. Balgores managed all the viewings with prospective buyers and handled this with a high degree of professionalism. Other agents will promise you the world and a higher price for your property but within weeks they will be reducing the price and backtracking to a lower sale price to gain a sale. Do not hesitate to use Balgores as they are a very professional company and will do anything to make your sale as smooth as it possibly can be. The other good thing about Balgores is that Marie progresses the sale and liaised with the other solicitors involved to make sure that the sale progressed and that any problems were ironed out at a very early stage. However due to a variety of reasons we didn’t feel we got the service level we expected. We had to make contact the day before showings to find out who would be showing our house, when they’d come for keys etc. Another time they had booked in a Sunday viewing and it was only when we queried on the Friday before who would be coming to show did they realise that there was a showing booked and that they didn’t work Sundays so couldn’t do it.
We had a lower than anticipated number of viewings initially and reduced our price on Balgores advice within the first month. When viewings didn’t pick up much and we queried what else we could we do to help get people through the door were told the market doesn’t lie and all they could recommend was reducing the price further.
We had a few viewings cancelled (fairly standard) but one in particular that irritated us; the viewer had to amend booking due to work, but Balgores couldn’t accommodate their requested rearranged time. We told Balgores that if needed and able we could show it ourselves (which we had done on the Sunday viewing) to help and their response was that they’d wait to hear back from the interested party. Balgores didn’t follow up with them until we queried 3/4days later, but by this point they’d offered on another house.
To sum up our experience we felt like we were just a number to Balgores and when it wasn’t an immediate easy sale their only answer was to continually drop price. When we said we weren’t willing to a second time they were kind enough to let us out of contract a couple weeks early.
Had our original point of contact with the company not been away so much I think things would have been different. Unlucky timing for us, and have now moved to a smaller company.

Awful company and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone! Never call you back when asked. Had to ask for forms and documents multiple times. No hand over when moving into a property. High turnover of staff (says it all) so every time you need to contact them was a new person.
Had to ask for my bond back and request the check out form more than twice.
Check in / check out report was wrong and missed things, when this was brought to their attention by email was just ignored.

Balgores were recommended to us by a family member and we were put in contact with Allannah. Straight from the start upon meeting her we were very impressed in her knowledge of the market and local area, professionalism and speed of getting the sale of our property up and running.
The Photographer came and took some fantastic photos and really made the house look its best. The sales brochure was professional and well written. (We had put our house for sale a year earlier with another local sales agent and the difference was like chalk and cheese. Photos were rubbish, write up was poor and interest in the property was poor, needless to say it didn't sell and we took it off the market).
Balgores professionalism and quality was a different level, and we had multiple viewings and several offers after the first week of going online, and Sale agreed shortly after at a great price for us. They kept us informed regularly and if there were any issues they were on the case straight away.

At the outset we approached Balgores for a valuation on our house, they responded very quickly and promptly found three people interested in buying our house before it was even marketed. Within 48 hours we had an offer. Allanah was brilliant. Marie then picked up the reins keeping our buyers informed as we went through the traumatic process of trying to secure a new home in Devon. After several protracted attempts we found our new home, the fourth attempt, and throughout Marie made sure we didnt lose our buyers. We then needed to sell a second house and again Allanah and Marie came to the fore. Marie is totally professional and committed to her job, shame there are not more like her.
In our search we came across many agents, some of whom could learn a lot from Allanah and Marie on how to do business. Two of the houses we tried to buy have since come back on the market as the deals fell through - they should have used Balgores. I am hard to please and expect a lot, Balgores delivered and I whole heartedly would recommend them.

I had the misfortune of renting a property managed by Balgores. The landlord was great, the agents however were slow, lacked proper communication, were unfriendly over the phone and in person and would never call back whenever they promised. Had to chase return of deposit a few times before they actually managed to give it back. Would barely ever reply to emails, they didn’t even know the property came without washing machine and the one installed belonged to previous tenants.
We had to involve the landlords directly a few times to get stuff sorted.
If you’re planing on taking a property managed by them, be ready to be frustrated by their poor customer service. They have been the worst letting agents I’ve ever dealt with.

Excellent, went with a fixed fee firm at first, swapped to Balgores, a different world, people to answer the phone, a department which chances your sale, you can ring and speak to them. They completed for me with a stretching deadline, I could not have asked for more. Allannah who took the property on was prepared with evidence of similar properties sold in the area and allowing for inflation over time, she was spot on for what we sold at. It is also great to have a professional to ask about staging the property. Allannah ran an open day for us we went shopping, we had three offers all vetted for ability to pay and their position.

We just purchased a flat through Balgores, we dealt with Allanah and Sarah both very helpful and on the ball, Sarah especially good at chasing Solicitors and keeping us updated, she was always happy to answer questions and quick to find out answers to any queries we had, subsequently the whole thing took approx 10 weeks from offer to Completion. Probably as stress free as you can get purchasing property!

As a tenant I wouldn’t recommend renting from Balgores. During the two years we rented we experienced issues which they were slow to resolve. Our fire alarm needed servicing. We were very clear to Balgores as to which fire alarm was the issue but they didn’t pass these details onto the workman, who came and serviced the wrong one. He had to be sent back out to service the correct fire alarm. We then had an issue with another fire alarm. Prior to sending out a workman, Balgores has to obtain permission from the landlord. Balgores admitted to attempting to calling the landlord then forgetting to follow up the call after they didn’t get through to the landlord. We were on holiday for a week during this time and came home to a still broken fire alarm which woke us up multiple times during the night.
They said they’d ring the cleaners they use to arrange an end of tenancy clean. Again they didn’t get through to the cleaners. However they didn’t inform us of this. Instead they rang us a couple of days later asking if we’d organised the clean which they said they’d organise. They also didn’t give us a date by which the clean needed to be done but when we did book it told us ideally it had to be sooner.
As part of the end of tenancy report, they stated the cleanliness of the flat was “good” and “fair” following the professional clean. Despite this the landlord claimed to be unhappy with the cleanliness. Balgores then decided to agree with the landlord, which completely contradicted the report and the attached photos.
Do not rent from Balgores!! They treat tenants in an awful manner and only care about keeping their landlords happy.

I can not thank Micheal Bacon enough for helping me find somewhere to live. He was so friendly and heplful, i explained the problems i had been facing when looking for somewhere. Micheal told me he could help me and he did. Within 24hours i found a place and then within 10 days i was given then keys.

So glad we chose balgores to rent, we literally moved in within a week, we was worried that because of my bad credit we wouldn't be able to rent but Mike Bacon was amazing throughout and made sure everything was running smoothly even answering questions out of work hours. Also a big massive thank you to emily(Basildon) who sorted out our references in no time at all ( 2 days ).
Overall the letting company where amazing, helpful and always catered to our needs no matter what day or time it was.

Huge thank you to Mike Bacon at Balgores! I’ve never left a review in my life and felt the need to on this occasion for a number of reasons.
Mike has gone above and beyond in helping secure the right tenant for my property, given my initial worries on letting the property. He takes great care and pride in his work, shows enthusiasm, has the right attitude and has an abundance of knowledge. An experience I find extremely rare in the market today.
During marketing, Mike ensured I was kept up to date at all times. His feedback and advice has been extremely reassuring and faultless - an agent who is passionate in his field and deserves the recongnition.

From the first second our agent, Mike Bacon was really excellent, different from the managers. He was kind, calm, patient, quick, with full of empathy. Our case was not easy. We were seeking a perfect rent since January and it became more and more urgent as we passed the time. My daughter must move until 16th of March, because of her obligate special practice in her school. She needed to move from Brentwood to Chelmsford. She has 2 dogs, and everybody knows it's not an easy job to find a rent with 2 dogs for a student. Mike solved our problem immediately and my daughter could move in yesterday, in time, one week later after the viewing :)

I was strongly recommended to try Balgores after having a disastrous time house hunting with alternate companies.
I cannot express how pleased I am that I (eventually) took the advice. The service I received from start to finish was exceptional, and the agent (Michael Bacon) went above and beyond to make sure that I found a rental property that ticked every box I had, and even went as far as to offer local advice (I'm new to Chelmsford) and checked in to see how the move had gone, which was a very nice touch.
Wouldn't even bother looking to any other companies should I need to move again.

From the very first meeting with Mike Bacon at my rental property, it was clear to me that I was going to entrust him to look after my investment. We spent over an hour discussing the process of renting and I was left highly impressed with his attitude, knowledge and enthusiasm.
During marketing, Mike and his team gave me feedback and advice which quickly led to an acceptable offer from a professional tenant.
At one stage, in the interim period between accepting the offer and tenants moving in, I thought of a query on deposit schemes while sat on my sofa at 10:25pm. I emailed Mike from my phone so that I didn’t forget, not expecting a response until the next day. I had my full, comprehensive reply from Mike within 10 minutes! I can’t tell you how much that impressed me.
The tenants moved in some time ago and things are going well. If there is ever an issue, it is dealt with by the property manager Jade Sharpe in a speedy, efficient manor.
I can’t recommend Mike and his Balgores team highly enough and I certainly won’t be using any other agent. Well done guys.

Michael Bacon in the Lettings department talked me through the process and paperwork.
He then took me to four properties, my problem became which one to rent.
Again Michael gave great advice helping me to pick the best property for me.
The whole thing became a delight, I am now living in a place that meets all my requirements

Fantastic service. Balgores helped with my first home, and made the whole process as smooth as it could have been.
Michael stayed an hour after the close of business two days in a row to help me progress quickly with finding the right mortgage. He gave balanced, fair and useful insights with mortgages.
The other staff at Balgores are also really friendly, responsive, and I would thoroughly recommend using their services. I will definitely consider using them again if I need property agents in the future.
The lawyers they referred me to (APL, based in Leeds) and Countrywide solicitors were also very good. It was useful to be able to rely on Balgores and it certainly paid off. Thanks Balgores team!

I used Balgores to sell my house after failing with another agent. Their enthusiasm and dedication puts them well ahead of some other agents. I was with my first agent for 4 months, and in that time I had 9 viewings. In 4 months with Balgores, I had 54 viewings and 4 offers. Balgores also sent a professional photographer who made our house look like a show home. Fantastic job all round, especially from Brad, Allannah, Casey, and Matt. Very happy with the service, and happily settled in my new home too! The best estate agent in Chelmsford!

Wow - very speedy response from James one evening, when I sent through a right move message wanting to view the property the next day. He arranged the viewing with the owner for the next day which was absolutely perfect! Really perfect timing to fit into my busy diary. I have been searching for a decent size house in Chelmsford for so long and was so glad to find something.
Everything was straight forward, barring the potential 17 viewings that this property had on the next day, however this did not put me off. I wanted this house, I wanted this new life in Chelmsford.
Various conversations via email and telephone went on to "bid" for this property, however I Won with plenty of luck!
I could not fault James at all, really made viewing/purchasing this house an enjoyable experience.
The completion stage, admittedly was stressful, but Caroline kept in constant touch and kept chasing the current vendors for various information and completion of forms. Happy to say I am now living in the house, and enjoying it! Balgores - Thank you! You have really helped to make a dream come true!

DISGUSTING COMPANY!
My daughter has had nothing but trouble from them in as little as 6 weeks!!!! An issue over something so small that was easily rectified by another member of staff however the original agent was a man who threatened my daughter and even swore down the phone to her boss when he called to rectify the matter as she was constantly crying at work because she was being bullied and threatened to be kicked out of the property for something that wasn't even an issue when another member of staff took over the complaint!
DISGRACEFUL - only after a quick buck! The other member of staff admitted that the agent dealing with it first is known for using bully tactics to get the tenant out the property so he can re let and make commission again on the re letting fees!!
STEER WELL CLEAR!!!
