Absolutely poor service ! The estate agent not proactive at all
Did a viewing on Beechwood Street, Thornhill, Sunderland
After 24 hours exactly wanted to give an offer on the asking price. The agent told me 3 times the vendor has agreed a price
I wanted to offer over asking price and she is saying that she doesn’t want to call the vendor and make him some more money and herself a better commission. I asked to communicate with the agent who did the actual viewing and she said is impossible because she works from home ! (She does have a phone obviously)
I’m an estate agent myself and I always inform my vendors when there is higher offers

How can you be so lazy to give a call to the vendor in the first 24 hours of the viewings
As estate agents we need to give vendors feedback for all the viewings and she didn’t even mention that I want to offer over asking price

The team and in particular the senior manager handled our sale with professionalism and sensitivity from the outset to completion. We were selling due to difficult circumstances but always felt well supported by the team. A minor issue relating to consistency of feeding back on viewings was taken on board. Indeed, of course, no estate agent can prevent viewings by the purely inquisitive who have neither the means nor intention to proceed, as opposed to genuine potential buyers!

Had a 5* experience with Goodlife Estate Agents, Dean came out to value, he was friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. All the girls in the office were friendly and professional when I needed to contact them. House went on the market on the Friday afternoon, viewing made for the Saturday, sold on the Monday! Can’t say better than that. Once offer accepted Gina the Manager was in contact and kept me up to date every step of the way. Price for the services given at the beginning so unexpected surprises. The whole team are great and would highly recommend.

Extremely disappointed with our experience with Good Life. We went with goodlife after being told about their 'Bespoke Advertising Package' expecting a comprehensive marketing strategy, but our home was barely advertised - it only got posted once on their Facebook page.
We reached out three times for guidance on selling our property and requested a visit from an agent to get tips on speeding up the sale, but were completely ignored.
I specifically asked to be emailed instead of called due to my work in a children's home, but this request was disregarded.
The stress this caused was particularly frustrating given my pregnancy. Unfortunately, we missed out on four potential homes we loved due to our property not selling.
As a result, we're now forced to consider switching agents or exploring other options. Needless to say, we won't be using Good Life again."

The most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.
Did an online valuation which they phoned me about on Friday, which I missed. I then phoned them four times, twice it went unanswered, the other two times I left messages, no one called me back. Next day lady phoned following up the online valuation, I explained I had called the day before but noone called me back, I was told they had been very busy. What if I had been a buyer trying to leave an offer?
I gave them a second chance and booked for Dean to come round today (Tuesday 5th August) they give a 2 hour windowd, so anytime between 12.30-2.30pm, a lot of waiting around though. Received a call at 2.24pm from the office to say Dean was running late and could appointment be rearranged. Absolutely not, will not deal with them again. Extremely unprofessional and would not recommend

Where do I start?
On the 30th Jan I saw a house on rightmove that I wanted to view, this house is part of the affordable housing scheme.
I rang to book a viewing, I was told my the woman that I needed a mortgage advisor/broker before I was able to view this house as they need to complete a form to say I was eligible for this home.- Not a problem so I got hunting for a mortgage advisor.
Whilst I was ringing around mortgages advisors seemed very confused about ‘this form’ They needed to complete, so I rang back good life to ask for some more information. I was told they have the form once I have sorted a mortgage advisor they will send it to her.
I rang them back again to confirm I had a mortgage advisor, could I book a viewing and could this form be sent please. The woman on the phone was lovely however confused, she said there’s no form and I could have always of viewed the property. She explained my Mortgage advisor would simply write a letter saying I am able to purchase the house. I was frustrated as I could have viewed this house weeks ago and had been told different things from different staff members.
Viewed the house, loved it, was approved, thought great can’t wait to move.
Good life have stated on their advert for the house that it is a fixed price so I obviously agreed to that price as I was told I can’t negotiate. I later found out from the council who over look this scheme by their manager that this is not the case and I could have always put an offer in.
On behalf of myself my parents went into goodlife store and spoke to the manager, asking questions, updates etc. my dad explained that the house isn’t a fixed price and said he had spoken to the manger at the council and…. Well he couldn’t finish his sentence as he was so rudely cut off by good life’s manager saying “I know who my contacts are”. No reason to speak to anyone like that.
We have had some issues with the valuation from the bank, so as you can imagine lots of conversations through emails. I emailed the manager a numerous of questions, she did reply to my email however wasn’t exactly answering what I had asked. On Saturday 26th April, I rang the store, asked to speak to manager, however was told she wasn’t available. The woman I spoke to took a message from me saying that I was just confused as to what was happening, I wasn’t being kept in the loop and my emails weren’t been answered. She apologised to me and said she would pass this on. Approximately 10 minutes later the manager rang me. In my whole life I have never been spoken to in such a disrespectful manner. I was spoken to like I was some little school girl in the head teachers office. I asked if someone else could deal with my matter as I didn’t want the manager to deal with it. She told me no that she would be dealing with it. I told her I would like to speak to someone higher such as her boss or a director she told me no, I asked for a contact email or a phone number. Which her response was quote on quote “no tough i am dealing with it”. She then told me she would discuss this matter with her director and have him call me. In an email after I made sure to put this down that I look forward to him contacting me. In response she told me she never said that. LIES.
My parents have asked in person, I have asked on the phone and have asked twice in emails why the house is up for a fixed price when it is not a fixed price as is in fact worth 14k less than it is on for, and I have still had no response. The house is now back on the market STILL stating a fixed price this is false advertising.
I have paid for searches with solicitors which i have now lost the money for. PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF THIS ‘BUSINESS’
I am absolutely appalled by the service I received, to the point I was shaken after the phone call.
It is so dangerous that we are trusting these people.

From the moment we arranged our valuation Good Life Homes have been professional, friendly and excellent in selling our house. All communication has been prompt and all staff in the office and their negotiator have been lovely and very helpful. Also the gentleman who took our photos and valued our house also very nice and professional and had a great local knowledge and very helpful in letting us know about the market and what is best in moving forward to sell our house but also so helpful in advice for us buying.
Great at setting up appointments for us for viewings, prompt at letting us know when offers came in asap and communication between us and the people viewing our house. Also great and helpful at recommending solicitors and letting us know of any properties we would like that havd came up to but. From the initial enquiry and up until the exchange of contracts, the team at Goodlife were exemplary in their dealings throughout the whole process. After the valuation and photographs were taken, the property was put on the market on the Friday with the first viewing appointed for that afternoon. After a second viewing on the Saturday morning, an offer was received and Gina handled the negotiation with the client, agreed a price and the property sold, all within 24 hours. I would recommend Good Life & particularly Gina, even though I would say they don't have enough staff to cover the amount of work they've got which can lead to difficulty when trying to contact them or get updates. From the first time Dean came out to view the property he and was fully understanding of our needs. The video and photos and explanation of the property were amazing! We got so much positive feedback from lots of family and friends. Our house was sold within days and we certainly believe this was down to Dean doing an excellent set of photos and fantastic write up of our home.

I knew this as rather than messing around making offer after offer, I rang the seller myself and asked what they would accept. The seller confirmed that Good Life hadn't even contacted them with my offer. When I asked Good life why this had happened their excuse was 'well we knew that offer was a bit low'

We were interested in buying a property. Made first offer 28/04. Hadn’t heard back by 02/05 so called and asked for progress update. Was told agent couldn’t reach vendor and had left a voicemail. Then asked what the offer was. Called back an hour later to say offer declined.
Then called me 03/05 asking for a revised offer which I gave. Didn’t hear back by 09/05 so called for an update. Again told agent couldn’t reach vendor and would get back to me.
Then received call 11/05 saying offer rejected and property now sold.
When I called to discuss I was told we aren’t ‘progressable anyway’ due to needing to sell our current property. A position the agent knew before calling me to get a revised offer.
Agent also stated the first offer made was 02/05 which was actually a follow up call from our 28/04 offer so clearly there was no action taken during that period. Would think part of an agents job would be to notify all interested parties to get the highest offer for their vendor.
I’ve since spoken to the vendor direct and they have told them that they could not get in touch with us to get a best and final offer, which is a lie. Telling both parties that they can’t contact the other when actually just not doing their job. Pleased we never listed our property with this agent to lose out on potential buyers.

Appalling customer service and dreadful communication skills. It took over 8 weeks to get my deposit back (£495), but they were extremely quick to demand money from you. I also didn't receive a full set of keys when I initially rented the property either.
The electricity meter was locked behind a fire door (I don't have a problem with that), but to not give me a key to enable me to read my meter caused issues when I moved in.
I had to resolve this myself, as the office took no responsibility whatsoever. I was even told I had all the keys when there was a set in the office with the electricity cupboard key on it. I didn't find this out until shortly before I moved out.
To blame the landlord for the delay in my deposit being returned, when it was wholly as a result of their incompetence, is absolutely shameful.
It took sending a fourth email informing them I was completing a statutory declaration, a request of a goodwill payment as I was incurring fees to have the form witnessed, on the back of an unreturned phone call eight days previously, two emails, and two texts from the DPS for any action to be taken.
The goodwill payment was denied, as the refund had been actioned that day, 8 weeks after I had commenced my application. The only thing I did get from them was an apology via email, which wasn't sufficient.
This isn't the only instance I experienced of their inability to do their job, so you could hardly say it was a one-off. I wouldn't deal with them again. If I could have posted a review with 0 stars, I would have.

Myself and my partner lived in a house that was under Good Life for over a year and it was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. Our 'home' never felt like a home because of serious damp and mould issues that were never taken very seriously by Good Life. If you want an agency that's responsive, don't even consider these. Getting us into the house was fine and that's where their duty of care ended. Over the year we lived there I was told countless times issues would be 'chased up' and nothing would ever happen, I'd have to call sometimes 3 times a week. I eventually requested our landlords details and upon speaking with them directly we discovered much of what we had been reporting to Good Life (who claimed they were usually waiting on the landlord) hadn't even been raised to their attention! It felt like pulling teeth to just get a simple email response at times and some of the excuses I'd get were laughable "oh I don't know if my emails work" for example is just ridiculous. I hope anyone moving into a home under Good Life has a far better experience than we did. I would never consider a future property ran by this agency.

I have refrained from complaining about my experience with renting good life homes until now, after 2 months of being ignored and allowed to live in a biohazard.
Firstly, upon moving in, we had wrongly assumed the house would have been freshened up a bit (nothing major, maybe just a hoover and a mop) but instead we walked into a house with sticky living room floors, grime, dirt and dust collected in every nook and cranny, holes in practically every wall as well as random wires sticking out of the living room wall. We Alerted good life to the presence of pigeons the week we moved into the rental, it took a full month of chasing the company just to have someone come and have a look and say “Yep! There’s pigeons up there!” Meanwhile pigeon droppings had gathered around the loft hatch, posing a threat not only to our health but the cats as well. A few weeks after this had happened, a contractor was approved by the landlord to patch up the hole, which just trapped the pigeons in our loft, with no escape or access to food/water. We made good life homes aware of this as they had previously stated they would get the pigeons and dropping cleaned up however, they took no action in removing the live pigeons. This meant we had to listen to baby birds screaming for their parents for food and water as well as fully grown birds scrambling to escape as they slowly died. We do not have the proper PPE to tackle such a task, therefore we relied on the contractor good life homes were apparently arranging. It is now September, a full month after pigeons died, pest control showed up at our door one morning without any communication (luckily we were in as we both work full time) and rather than removing the bodies and droppings, fogged the loft with an antibacterial spray, which is still NOT what we were promised. As of now we are still living in a house that no matter how long or hard we clean, never feels clean or safe enough to live in. From this experience I am forced to believe this company has no interest in the well-being or experience of their tennants, I do understand that approvals have to be made by the landlord however something as urgent as this should not have taken 2+ months to resolve.
