We had to leave our Hampshire home at short notice following a disastrous oil leak. Mid-November is not a great time to search for rental properties, with landlords pulling out of the market, leading to demand increasing for the few remaining. Also we hoped to move back into our house once rectification works were completed and so didn’t want to commit to an 18 month lease, with 12 month break clause, which is standard. We needed something more flexible.
Thanks to Sheila O’Brien’s helpful and imaginative approach she persuaded a landlord who had decided to sell up, but was neither renting, nor selling, that he should rent to us until the sales market improved. In return we would facilitate viewings. The result has benefitted both sides - we got our short term home; the landlord got rent and eventually a sale as the Spring market warmed up. Everyone was happy. Sheila is a class act!

We've had a very good experience with Hamptons and Antony, our agent. The process was done in 2 days and Antony guided us through it. Always helpful and responsive. As a tenant it's definitely the best experience I've had – super quick in case of repairs etc. Can recommend them 100%.

I have used Hamptons on a number of occasions over the last few years to find me flats in the central London area. Georgia Bullock has been the representative who has looked after me. She has provided what I can only describe as a brilliant service, taking the time and trouble to find accommodation that is ideally suited to my need. Her assistance has been invaluable. The service she has provided has been has been consistently excellent.

We sold our house in Dulwich through Hamptons; excellent service across the board from all their team. I couldn't be more dissatisfied and disappointed that I chose Hamptons and stayed with them for nearly a year before property was sold. Being a client, the whole process was driven by the buyer and their demands and needs. Being in a chain it was really their call and responsibility to be the bridge for communication between the us and sellers and the buyers. On the day of completion I was hounded by Hamptons for 2 hours as soon as funds for the sale were released, despite everyone in the process involved being fully aware that we were on a CHAIN. It was morally and professionally so wrong. It was really the role where Hamptons needed to liaise and communicate with full clarity and confidence that keys would be released at the end of the completion for the full chain of sale and purchase. being fully ware of my circumstances doing a home move alone with a child, they were they only people who needed to represent my best interest and unfold some humanity and morality from the bottom of the chain to not dictate terms throughout the entire process of sale, but be reasonable. for the heavy agency fees levied by Hamptons, I truly regret that it really wasn't worth it, all in the end. I wish i chose another agent and saved over thousand of pounds in fees. For anyone looking to be in a chain, it is just so important to have agents who are experienced, and confident and always puts you ahead of everything. In the end, its all about commission, and really nothing matters after everyone receives their monies.

We are glad that we chose Hamptons Estate Agents in Alton to sell our property, as from the off they showed that they were professional and prepared to be fully engaged in supporting us through the process. From the initial valuation from Adam, the ultimate professional, to the ongoing chasing and updating by Kathleen, we felt that they could not have done better. Kathleen, in particular, showed great tenacity in dealing with a number of issues, often overcoming the weaknesses of other parties in the chain, due in part to her skill at building relationships. She was so pleasant to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. I am happy to recommend the team at Hamptons.

We would have no hesitation but to fully recommend Kraig and his team at Hamptons. They were superb - very friendly, professional and honest throughout. We particularly found the method of keeping in touch via our own WhatsApp group to be effective. Thank you ever so much once again.
