One of the worst agencies you can work with. We booked a viewing for a house, confirmed it that day, drove an hour, and nobody bothered to come. When finally reaching them, after numerous phone calls, they just said they tried to contact us for another day. We had no phone calls, no messages, nothing. The lady I talked to was stunningly rude and yelled constantly. Please STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Viewed a property to rent in Boothstown the gentleman that showed us around was very helpful and advised us if we wanted the property to go down to the office straight away and make an application as we were the very first ones to view it we would get it.
So we did as he said went down to the office 5 minutes after viewing and submitted the forms we were told that Hunters would be in touch.
A week went by and we heard nothing we were quite anxious as we have a child in a nearby school so wanted to be in the property as soon as possible we called to enquire and the lady on the phone said that there had been an additional 8 applicants and the landlord had to “look through them all” to decide who he wanted. I was shocked as I had never heard of this picking and choosing being done before having rented from 3 different companies before it was always first come first serve if you had the correct references and were able to afford the property you’d get it- simple. Not Hunters they are open about how they let their landlords discriminate renters even though they can afford the properties. When we called again to ask for an update we were told that the landlord had rejected ALL 8 applicants and they had to put the property online again. This is complete discrimination the only reason we can think of why we got rejected was because we are under 30 have a child and my partner is mixed race which is obvious by her last name. I’m truly shocked that in this day and age this still happens and I can’t believe the culture of this business. AVOID IF YOURE LOOKING TO RENT they will allow their landlords to discriminate against you if you’re under 30 and not white.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! MANTHORPE AVENUE! Where do I start…known issue with a property with mould but yet they still let us rent the property for just under £1000 a month. Clearly the issue was covered with paint prior to moving in! Case was opened by previous tenants with the same issue back in June and closed 10 days before we moved in October. No help to reimburse us for the damage caused to our brand new furniture costing over £7,000 in damages as this was our first home. It was only after I said I wanted the property cleaning they offered a company to clean it. Would NOT recommend!! No compensation or refund of rent! subsequently my partner has now had health issues because of the condition of the property. We are now forced to find a new property as this is not how we should be living. Now having to hire a storage unit until a new property is found.
I wouldn’t not recommend buying or renting an apartment on Manthorpe Avenue and I would not recommend renting any properties from Paul Brackenridge or HUNTERS!

Very good service. Their initial valuation was spot on and the property sold in just a couple of weeks. Others further down the road towards Swinton who were marketing the property before Hunters were very poor in comparison and their advice was wrong.

Well, where do I start. We thought that selling our house would be easy but boy did it seem like hard work.
Without Victoria Mercer being there throughout the whole process, we probably wouldn't of got to exchange. I felt like I constantly hounded her and she never had a problem with me doing so. Always answered the questions I needed, poked the people that needed doing so and wasn't afraid to get us to where we needed to be.
I would also like to thank Vicky Pratt for being the go to when Victoria wasn't around, you were a god send.

We have recently bought a property which Hunters were the estate agents for. Although Louise initially dealt with us, she then went on maternity leave but the rest of the team made sure they kept everything progressing and kept us informed every step of the way. I found them to be very professional but approachable at the same time. They were also very accommodating regarding the several viewings we requested. I would certainly recommend them and would have no hesitation in dealing with them again.

We found that they value the property high, sign you up to their minimum 12 week contract, then after a few weeks suggest reducing the asking price.
If you want to change agents within the initial 12 weeks there are costs payable to Hunters. Nothing to lose for them, if you change agents they recover their costs anyway.
Other agents don’t have this tie in. We would have moved agents after 4 or 5 weeks if this was not part of the contract. We had a handful of viewings, feedback was minimal and they did not follow up viewers who said they may like a second viewing.
Their approach was very much reactive rather than proactive.
The owner of another property for sale nearby had a similar experience and moved agents after the 12 weeks.

I don't normally post reviews as I'm more of an each to their own type of person. However that said I am going against that to post the fact that I am deeply disappointed with this estate agent. The reason for this is that myself my wife and out small dogs just signed a 6 month lease on a property. We begged for a longer term as we want to settle down and start a family. Many times the so called agents told us don't worry that will be perfectly fine and this 6 month term is for our protection (the customer). 1 week after we pay our first months rent. Early I may add my wife gets a call from hunters to say that we need to be out by end of the contract as the owner has decided to sell.
I'm no expert on the matter but even a jobless bum who watches day time tv knows by watching homes under the hammer that selling or buying a house takes time and not a matter of weeks.
So stay clear of this xompany as this to me looks like an easy money making scheme i.e. Deposits and admin fees.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. They're very happy to take your money but as soon as you pick up the keys you don't get an iota of service.
No response to emails, no returned phone calls. The property we moved into was completely filthy, disgustingly so, the garden had not been maintained for over 6 months, easily but they visited and said it only needed a 'light clean' and 'light maintenance' in the garden. On top of all of this, we had to pay an extra deposit because the incompetent staff failed to communicate between themselves and the landlady that we had a cat. When we turned up to collect the keys we were told that the landlady didn't want anyone with a pet...fine but we had advised them twice and had a removal van outside! Avoid like the plague.

I would give no stars if I could.
Never in my life have I had experienced such poor customer service and complete incompetence. Blatantly rude staff, been lied to several times throughout the tenancy. All have similar horrendous attitudes, almost like they have been trained to be as unhelpful and insincere as possible. Absolutely furious. Making a point of telling everyone I know who rents to avoid using Hunters like the plague. Wouldn’t wish anyone the headaches of dealing with such a useless company.

First in buying my apartment and then a few years later when I decided to rent my apartment out.
For the 7 or so years they have managed my property I couldn't ask for a better letting agency.
I really can't speak highly of them enough.

very poor communication, do not ring you back when they say they will do not reply to emails, we have been waiting 2 months for simple work to be done, scheduled work to be done and didnt even check if we were going to be in.... very poor letting agents we will not be using them to let our other property out

Myself and partner purchased a property through Hunters, Worsley and they were fantastic! No pressure and very helpful. My partner owns a local agents too in the area and was very impressed with their service. A special mention to Fiona,- you were exceptional! Great team, would highly recommend. I rarely leave reviews but I wish I had had access to reviews of this company before entering into a contract with them.
I will echo what has been said before. Awful communication. I have been told over and over again that they let 300 properties which is why they can't respond to an email within a week (even when it's resent numerous times). They can't handle their workload.
What actually prompted this review is, even though I currently have an ongoing official complaint (for almost a month) I still receive unprofessional and ill informed emails from senior members of staff.
On top of bad communication and poor customer service; Hunters instructed work to be completed to my property without my consent and made an awful job of it. This included; removing my new carpet and not refitting it, drilling multiple holes into my ceiling and fitting piping randomly to walls where no other piping runs.
There are lots of lovely and competent letting agents in Worsley, I'd recommend saving yourself upset and stress and go with one of these!

Typical "Village" estate agents. If you're looking for an agent who are slow to respond, lack any sort of customer service skills and are happy to do the bare minimum or less then I recommend Hunters. As a Landlord who used them for over 2 years I was repeatedly unimpressed with their complete lack of service and common sense.
