We were initially going to do our sale through an online estate agent and are so pleased we opted to go with Home Estate Agents instead. During the initial valuation Nick was patient with our millions of questions and gave us honest feedback about the market etc. Within a month we had received an offer at asking price. We were purchasing a house across the country and ended up being in a very long and complicated chain. Nick worked tirelessly to move things along and did more than any of the other agents put together! I could always get through to speak to one of the team if I called and emails were answered rapidly too. I would highly recommend Home Estate Agents and would give more than 5 stars if I could!... Disappointed with home after much debate which estate agents to use. After 5 weeks up for sale and only three viewings, no offers, I felt it was going to take a long time to sell my property. I changed to hills residential and within one week I have had 7 viewings and 2 offers .One which I have taken. After talking to my buyer he expressed that he tried to get an appointment to view my house through home estate agents and couldn't get a viewing Thankfully I changed to hills otherwise I could have lost my sale... In the 18 months I spent looking for a first time house, I dealt with many estate agents and none made any impression on me or did anything remotely to help me find a house...until I met Simon at Home Estate Agents. It was beyond refreshing to deal with an estate agent who didn't do 'sales patter' and who actually listened to what I wanted. Within only two weeks of meeting him, I was given the heads up on a house that he knew met my criteria and he worked tirelessly to make the sale happen by finding the sellers a house too. The whole process was quick and easy from start to finish and I was kept up to date at every step without having to call to chase. Nick and Simon dealt with the sale of my late Uncle's house very professionally and efficiently, yet in a friendly and patient manner. Nick's valuation was spot-on for a prompt sale. He also assisted my family beyond the call of duty, by keeping an eye on the empty house during the process (because we no longer live in Manchester) and even assisting in the sale of my late Uncle's car, when he personally met the 'Tyre Kickers' on our behalf. I have nothing but praise for the team @ Home Monton..my house sale was not straight forward and it had its up and downs but throughout it Simon, Nick or John could always reassure me and make me laugh. They always returned my calls if they didn't answer straight away, my queries were always answered within the day. It was nice to have straight talking no nonsense people to talk too. Simon was the main person I spoke too and although he was nervous at first as he had just started there he soon became more confident and he always cheered me up. They also sold my parents house at the same time and Simon was great with them, taking timeout to talk with my mum as she was unsure of what was happening. Unlike another review here, I found Home to be very reasonable, not at all rude and actually very 'straight up' rather than talking the sort of bull-crap that you get from many estate agents. We also dealt with John, the co-owner. We agreed a sale on our house after the second viewing and after a bit of negotiation achieved the asking price, which we think was very fair both to us and the buyer. It is with much disappointment that I write this review. I have dealt with numerous other Agents within the Monton area, and I have to say, with certainty, Home Estate Agents are by far the least reputable under every fundamental criteria. I very much doubt the lack of professionalism and ignorance in the way their potential vendors, buyers, or tenants are treated is an anomaly. Each occasion I have had the displeasure of dealing with Home, the same result has followed: disappointment. For example, the initial contact with Home was frosty. I found the staff member - I believe his name to be John - rude, arrogant, and generally patronising. Following on from this, I was promised a call back (on two occasions, and placed on hold for a lengthy period of time the second) to which I never received. I called back and spoke to the same gentleman, John, of whom was again obnoxious in manner and acted in a way which insinuated I had 'put him out' or were unworthy of his time. Of course, all of the above is certainly not what you wish for, especially when you are thinking of putting your property on the market. Needless to say, my property listed with another agent, and sold within quick succession. I understand from other local Agents that Home are a relatively minor independent company, who have just recently opened in the area, however, I would hope their ways change in order to lose an already dented image and ever growing poor reputation....
