I had lunch there on Sunday and despite the place being jam packed, Iona was able to find us a table … she’s very efficient. The food was surprisingly good, because we haven’t always been so lucky with the now departed chef. I’m going there again this Sunday just to see whether they will keep up their high standard. Black lion is one of the best places to have a great time and chill. Their customer service is amazing and is good to come after work and with friends to have a good time. They even let me have a pumping as a bonus! ;) Come and enjoy yourself if you want to have a relaxed time ! X... Read more

Would definitely come here again. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating to my dietary needs. The food was delicious (the charter pie being my personal favourite !) Overall, it was a great pub atmosphere and my family loved it - even the dog :)... Read more

Often a lively and busy bar on West End Lane, it's often used as a meet up place. The food was perfectly fine and your usual pub variety. Service was good and friendly, especially from the waitress with the amazing memory! There was a mix up with our bill at the end of the evening, which I don't think was handled particularly well and resulted in a bit of embarrassment, but these things happen and it was only a small dampener. I'm sure that we will be back here again before too long.... Read more

Food lovely but the service was terrible. It wasn't clear how to order from your table by your phone on an app. The app did not work and we waited a long time to get help from someone. Table left with empty plates for a long time I ended up putting them on the bar myself... Read more

Good pub. Not bad beer selection. Small outdoor area and a beer garden that is really 4 tables on a terrace. Front "garden" has much more space. Definitely book if you want to sit outside in summer.... Read more

The owner of this Pub employs Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Award Winning Staff and The Owner of this Pub is an Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Award Winning Person as well. This Pub is one of my favourite Pubs in The whole of England. The Food Hygiene of this Pub has Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating's. The food was average at best, small portion size (for the burger) and the service was slow. Didn’t even ask if everything was okay. The chips, environment and the outdoor space were nice. However, the food and service is not worth the prices. Wouldn’t recommend - far better places in the area.... Read more
