Disastrous. Worst experience ever! Unfortunately Martin's "manage" the tenanted flat above me where the bathroom was in a very bad state. In July I reported leaks into my bathroom and bedroom. Martin's sent a decorator to my flat who made a note of the redecoration which would be carried out when the leaks were solved. In September, when their bathroom floor was lifted, the leaks increased unbelievably, pouring water into my bedroom & bathroom, causing bedroom & bathroom ceiling repairs, bedroom redecoration, bathroom re-plastering, and re-tiling, etc. Upon being advised of the disastrously increased water leaks, Martin's (a five minute walk from the block) not only refused to view the damage, but suddenly changed their mind and advised that the water did not come from their flat above! Although obvious, a building surveyor has confirmed the route of the leak - and even advised that the water would have continued down into the flat below me - it has!

Martin & Co were my landlord's agent throughout my private rental for five years, and every member of the team that I dealt with in that time was a pleasure to work with. Very responsive to all queries and the few maintenance issues that inevitably came up were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Even the check out process was a breeze.

Martin&Co have been my letting management agency for around 4 years after the previous agent went bust during the Covid pandemic. From all initial contact they have been informative, responsive and helpful. Any queries or concerns I’ve had regarding property repairs have been dealt with efficiently and quickly. They’ve always acted fairly and when we were recently issued a section 21a due to our landlord wishing to move back into the property, they helped by recommending available properties, keeping an eye out for our reference requests and returning the deposit within 24 hours of the property being handed back. They completed regular inspections on behalf of our landlord but never made us feel ‘invaded’ and would happily rearrange times/dates to suit us. Excellent service and would thoroughly recommend as tenants.

Absolute shambles of a company. Communication is awful. Never keep you posted or up to date on anything. Getting them to carry out repairs nothing but a nightmare. Then when you chase the repairs claim they no nothing or just that it has been sorted. Spew nothing but rubbish at you and avoid questions. Personally I would avoid dealing with the Weymouth branch all together!! Can't actually think of one good experience with them.

Terrible communication. Booked a viewing of a flat for sale. Noticed it was suddenly off the market, after a couple of hit and miss phone calls where no one seemed sure, I find today it is off the market. Would be nice to know viewing wasn't happening and property not available.

Let down by agent as couldn't get keys to property.
Took time off especially to view. Tried to arrange viewings for rest of week but still couldn't get keys because with contractor. Withdrew interest after this. Property should not be listed if no access to property available..

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
The worst estate agents I have ever encountered. The day I went to collect my keys, I entered the branch and was completely ignored by all staff members and was not greeted. This was just the beginning of an awful year.
Living room windows allowed water to enter. At first, they tried to convince me it was due to condensation. It took 2 months of me calling and emailing for someone to even have a look. The rain water damaged my brand new TV stand. Instead of fixing the problem (the damaged gutters) the leaking area was painted over with "sealant" which quickly allowed water through again. Spoke to the owner of the branch who said he would have a look and send someone out, he never did. Window is still leaking 13 months later.
The bedroom began to sprout mould due to the unprecedented winter cold but also extreme damp caused by a leak from the upstairs flat. When I sent an email about the leak in the bedroom, I was told its probably caused by the leaking window in the living room. The mould began to effect my health and damage my furniture and belongings, which I was told to "give them a wipe". This was also painted over. I had to purchase a £300 dehumidifier to tackle this damp with no support from the landlord or estate agents. Humidity levels in the flat measured at 85%. I was actually advised to "seek alternative accommodation" if I wasn't happy.
Found a live earthworm in my toilet. Bathroom sink wouldn't properly drain. Bathroom light and kitchen hob lights were not working on move in day.
Owner and staff have no sympathy or compassion, offer absolutely no solutions and will ignore or avoid you unless they need a payment from you or to sign documents. Had to remind them to return my deposit 2 weeks after I had moved out.
If you can rent or buy from anywhere else, I strongly recommend.

I used these to sell my house and was brilliant from start to finish!
My house went on the market for only few weeks before being sold and throughout the whole process during the sale communication was really good with updates.
Had a few close calls with potential pull outs but was handled very well and professional.
Estate agent I used was Callum who was brilliant for us.

I really didn’t want to have to write a bad review but: I simply went there to drop a set of keys off on someone’s behalf, and the gentleman in there was very blunt and rude. I’m not sure if it was because I was wearing a face mask (COVID), but I was extremely confused as to why he was being rude.
On the other hand, the lady who came out (I’m afraid I can’t remember the name) - was more informative and helpful.

After being really happy with the Bournemouth branch 5 star service I went to the Weymouth branch to try find somewhere to let while I look to buy, I actually felt sorry for the miserable looking ladies in the office, no get up and go and poor customer service, my experience was dull very much like the run down branch.

Looking to rent property for family in the area , spoke with jaye , found her to be terribly unhelpful id even go as far to say rude , rang back to speak to someone higher and was told that she is the senior administrator- in an office of 3 , and deals with everything .

This office is never open when advertised, several times I have attempted to go in and talk to the Manager as the "Senior Administrator" keeps fobbing me off and not replying to all my emails. Poor communication, unprofessional staff and unreliable opening hours!!

After painfully going through unhelpful and uncooperative estate/letting agents we found Martin & Co.. From the start they were extremely helpful and professional, We dealt with Laura and she was amazing, helped with finding the right property and went out of her way,talking me through my options and what she could do,also very good when showing me the property and also did a 2nd veiwing with no bother, other agents need to try this approach as they were a major disappointment by comparison. Highly recommend to freinds and will certainly be using them again when we next move..

When I first moved into the property there were issued which were down to the contractors, not the letting agent. Within a few days of visiting the agent and telling them, Jaye has all the issues fixed and sorted out a refund for me for the first few days. I was very impressed and felt it could not have been handled better. I am now very happy in my new home.

You cant beat the warm and friendly reception from the ladies in this office. Their knowledge and service is second to none and deal with everything so that life is easy for yourself as moving can be such a stressful time. I was looked after by Laura who took on board my needs and gave me exactly what i was looking for. I highly recommend Martin & co who are not a pushy company like many others that just put you in property that suits them.
