Selling my flat turned out to be a much longer and much more painful journey that I had first expected. After having tried (unsuccessfully) to sell via two other local estate agents, I definitely appreciated the McRae’s team and their approach even more. In comparison, they were an absolute delight to work with and did everything they said they were going to do. Professional and knowledgeable but also, warm and friendly. I appreciated the personal approach, which is something you tend to get more with smaller independent companies. Also, fiercely dedicated to help get the sale through - Lisa Fox was great. Had a terrible experience with Mc Raes Estate Agents. I found a property to rent through this Estate Agent. Paid holding deposit while they were doing referencing checks. However, they kept property advertised in all websites including their own after I had the holding deposit for them to remove property from the marked. Moreover, they took too long to get references with Employer although we are calling them to speed up the process. They said they could not do anything as they hire a third party company to do the checks. As a result, they kept part of the holding deposit stating it had passed the 15 days period to pass referencing. Also, they made false allegations that my husband\'s pay slips were fake because there was no income tax deductions although he had no deductions because he was on the tax fee allowance period but they just assumed we were given misleading information and on these grounds they kept our money. When I try to escalate the complaint they threatened us saying if we do escalate they would report my husband company for not paying tax. They follow all the complaint procedure response in writing but called me directly several times to make these threats. I could not believe I was dealing with a such a dodgy company. I would not recommend this Estate Agents. They are not reliable.... Read more

Warning to seller as a buyer I booked in to view a property which McRaes were contracted to sell. They left us waiting outside and didn't bother to tell us that they wouldn't be showing us around, the current vendor did instead. Then they didnt follow up once via email, phone or message. Tried to book another viewing however no one answered the phone or responded to my email to arrange a viewing. They certainly dont make it easier for the buyer! I'd like to thank McRaes for their very informative feedback. I too like all feedback whether its positive or negative but most of all like it to be truth. Since I registered on the 3rd July 2020 I viewed a house on Winchester Road on a Saturday morning a few weeks after. The viewing you didnt attend or follow up on. Thank you for sharing that not all viewings are logged on your system. I'd like to ask by "numerous" do you mean just the 2 calls and voicemails you've left immediately after you read this review?... Really great service, highly recommend. McRae's is by far the best estate agent that we have ever dealt with. We completed during a pandemic and even with those obstacles we felt looked after but most importantly they were always honest and upfront while being positive and focused on getting through our significant issues. We just bought a flat through McRae's and they were great. We've previously tried buying through other estate agents (naming no names…) and they were not nice to deal with as a buyer, but McRae's were great. Lisa Fox in particular was fantastic, she was very nice and helpful. You could tell she was doing the best for both the vendors and also for us as buyers. They did everything they could to help all of us get through a very difficult move during the pandemic. We would definitely recommend them.... Read more

Avoid this estate agent like the Plague. Owner who doesn't care about Purchasers and simply sides with the Vendor, and spreads slander and misinformation about surveyors, purchasers and any professional appointed by a Purchaser. They could not care less about the prospective purchasers.. Clearly only interested in vendors who line their pockets! Sales Manager who is completely incompetent and offers incorrect advice and has the audacity to not even take accountability for her mistakes. How this estate agents is even in business is beyond me...... Read more
