Arranged a an evaluation, then it was shortly cancelled and changed.
An alternative date booked , we made space in the property getting ready for the evaluation, took a day of work , and just u set an hour before the appointment time , they called to cancel. I called up and was told the representative Helen, had called in sick, after explaining a day of work was booked Nicola took a moment to discuss, then came back and changed the story because now Helen was actually in the office with no voice, very poorly . And no back up or alternative could be made. Seems they are not very resourceful and may be lacking in staff . No alternative appointment was offered and no attempt to source an alternative evaluation.

Poor communication and professionalism. We enquired about a property and were told that a soft credit check would take 2-4 days. We received no information. We rang back after 9 days of waiting to be told that it was let agreed last week and we were told nothing. Moreover, the person on the phone cut the call short before I had finished speaking.

When we decided to put our rental property on the market we were unsure whether it would attract a sale. My partner and I have just successfully completed a purchase on a house in Saddleworth. Throughout the long journey of trying to find our perfect home in what is a crazy market at the moment we found Ryder and Dutton to be very thorough with their checks in finding the right buyers for homes. Whilst as a purchaser it can be painful having to disclose lots of private information before being considered a serious buyer, it gave us comfort knowing that when selling our home we knew exactly where to come. We have just completed the sale of my 90 year old, In-Laws property and although they recognised that the move was necessary, they found it difficult to grasp the procedure, which meant we had to act remotely on their behalf. The property was leasehold with a complex management structure, who had an opportunistic attitude to sales, and this would have tried the patience of any estate agent. However, Jenny handled the sale professionally, proficiently and with a high degree of empathy, and we are extremely grateful for the amount of time she was prepared to dedicate to this transaction to see it over the line. Buying a home is one of the most stressful things you can ever do, I sit here now as I write this, happy, content and overwhelmed that we have finally got our own place. Charlottle Milhench from Ryder's is a huge reason for that and I can't thank you enough. You really have made our dreams come true. Nothing was ever too much, if we had a problem I would email Charlotte and she was always responsive, when you are buying a house It's important to feel like someone is on your side and are doing everything possible to help you achieve your dream. You really got this with Ryder's. Ryder's properties are "contract ready" this is an absolute genious idea, it sped our process up so fast! i highly recommend using them. I am a firm believer in treating people the way I would want to be treated and Charlotte did this from start to finish, thank you for always going above and beyond. A final point I would like to make is, some other estate agents are "all for the seller" and don't really care about the buyer, the buyer is just as important as the seller, because without a buyer you don't sell your house, with Ryder's, you are well looked after and feel that sense of importance. (In the following, I might be stating the obvious, - if so, I'm sorry if you already 'get it'. - If not, please read on, I hope it helps any reader to think in a different way).
... I hear that a lot of people whinge about traditional Estate Agents as being expensive, especially if you try to justify things on a 'cost plus' basis. This is simply a confused way of looking at the scenario...
-When we pay anyone a 'commission' we are paying a 'reward'. A reward has nothing to do with the 'costs' that a provider incurs as a result of supplying a service. In a commission, we are simply providing an arbitrary 'reward' figure that we think is their value, comensurate in our own minds to what the value is, that we are getting back.
It's exactly the same when you buy (or sell) a house. It's a conversation about value, not costs. The value of something is what you think should be the reward.
In my case, Ryder & Dutton did exactly what I wanted them to do, - to sell my house! They did it in 2 days. While the whole process took a further number of months to crystallise and be legally binding, they helped to expedite the details all the way through. They were worth every penny of the reward that I gave them, - you get what you pay for in life.
- Jenny and the team were first class in every aspect, they guide you and provide the reassurance that progress is positive, especially if it takes a long time, on probably one of the most stressful times in life. To have an experienced hand to hold on your journey is, like I said, worth every penny! First class!

Having pondered and almost opted for a more 'cheap and cheerful' estate agent. We made a final decision to stick with what we know, our tried and tested Ryder & Dutton - Uppermill.
We are extremely thankful that we did.
80% of our sale & move went to plan but as ever things are never 100% straight forward and when issues did arise, we were eternally grateful that we hadn't opted for the cheaper option and faceless business model.
Jenny and Simon were professional and supportive at every stage and nothing was too much trouble. James was visible and accessible at every stage and met with us on more than one occassion to discuss a realistic market appraisal that we were all happy with.

Nothing was too much trouble & the professional and super-fast way in which they carried out each request made me feel very valued as a client. Every email I sent was answered within minutes.
Also, the feedback they gave on each viewing was literally a word by word account of what each potential buyer had to say, which really helped me to know what people thought of my house. Jenny and Simon, with their calm and reassuring manner, were great at drawing out honest responses from people viewing the house. This proved very valuable as things progressed and helped me to make key decisions along the way.
The main thing though, was that they sold my house very quickly and had 5 potential buyers through the door in the first week. Their honest advice on the best way to market, price and present the property was a breathe of fresh air.
They are slightly more expensive than some other estate agents locally but the quality of the service, their knowledge of the market and most importantly the speed in which they sell your property is worth that bit extra. (imho!)
I would highly recommend this excellent team to anyone considering selling their house in the Saddleworth area.

Thanks to all at the Uppermill office who gave a fantastic service from start to finish.
James gave our property a thorough look before giving good advice and a good valuation.
Anne went that extra mile when taking the photos, calling on a sunny day to get the best exterior shots then returning and taking lovely interior photos showing the house off to best effect.
Simon initially, and then Jenny towards completion, kept us well informed and definitely helped to keep us well updated and things moving as the solicitors seemed to go to sleep !!!
No wonder Ryder and Dutton win so many awards ! Service second to none in this area.
