The team at Bridges not only did a great job of finding tenants to rent our property for 18 months but did a fantastic job when the time came for us to sell. We were extremely happy with the way our property letting and sale was managed for us when we were overseas and would highly
recommend Mark and his colleagues.
Bridges personify estate agent greed and ineptitude and show a complete disregard for their tenants in lieu of profit.
We moved in to 11 Armit Road in Greenfield on 5th December 2015. Before leaving, the pervious tenant informed Bridges, who manage the property, that the hob didn't work correctly. Obviously, we also let them know when we moved in. The hob wasn't replaced until the start of the new year in 2016, which meant that we couldn't cook Christmas dinner and had to spend Christmas with relatives at the last minute. Not once did Bridges apologise for this in any way, though a plethora of shallow excuses were used.
This is just one example, there are many others, including a callus attitude towards fire safety - which we have complained to the Ombudsman about. My girlfriend was in tears for the first few months of our tenancy, whilst we had to fight for our rights at every turn. They are very quick to respond though, if you threaten not to pay the rent.
Our time in Saddleworth, which we thought was lovely when we first visited, has been ruined by both Bridges and a very poor landlord (see Marks out of Tenancy for my review).
Bridges see their task as essentially protecting poor landlords, rather than having the decency to tell them that they need to get their acts together. They have zero regard for the tenants, who I suspect they see as an inconvenience and barrier to getting their money (even though, as tenants, we pay them an extortionate 'letting agent fees'. It will be interesting to see what happens to them when the new regs kick in.
In summary, Bridges don't have the moral responsibility, technical ability or manner to be allowed to be involved with something as important as people's homes. Stay away.
Excellent friendly service, both Deborah and Philips can't do enough to help sell your house,Deborahs knowledge and experience shine through with a great personality, would definitely recommend valentines
Falsely advertised a house as a 4 bed when in fact it was a 3. Did not tell us before spending £800. Wouldn't ever buy anything with them
Worst place ever applied to rent a house, they told me i should submit my document and also bring a guarantor after done all of that start waiting for their call, went there two weeks later they said i should still wait, three weeks later i went there again .they told me the house has been giving to some 1 else one month ago. No apology .they not helpful on the phone cant recomend.
Jenny and Simon were approachable and helpful throughout. Thank you.
Thanks to all at the Uppermill office who gave a fantastic service from start to finish.
James gave our property a thorough look before giving good advice and a good valuation.
Anne went that extra mile when taking the photos, calling on a sunny day to get the best exterior shots then returning and taking lovely interior photos showing the house off to best effect.
Simon initially, and then Jenny towards completion, kept us well informed and definitely helped to keep us well updated and things moving as the solicitors seemed to go to sleep !!!
No wonder Ryder and Dutton win so many awards ! Service second to none in this area.
