The job was completed efficiently within a three-month timeframe, which was positive. However, communication was poor; I had to follow up multiple times regarding important matters, and the team appeared complacent when contacted. I believe that without my involvement, the project would have been delayed by at least another month. This is not intended as a negative review—I wouldn’t necessarily recommend against using this firm, but I also wouldn’t explicitly endorse them. Considering the alternatives, this company may still be a safer choice compared to others in the market.

I have been using Solicitors Direct for a number of years now and honestly would never use anyone else for my legals now, I would highly recommend Alex Forrest and Jade Pendleton are both amazing Solicitors, who are very thorough and have your best interests at heart always, which is exactly what you need from a solicitor, this company is totally professional, as Is all their staff and always very helpful - 5 stars all round !

After a non fault claim I was approached by this company, apparently on behalf of the fault party insurers. Bare in mind i was hospitalised with multiple fractures and on morphine. They were insistent that I should make a claim immediatly, and that it should be via them. When I asked some questions and tried to establish exactly what aspect they were representing, personnal injury, medial rehabiliation etc, they became very short and basically said "lets not waste each other times, I have to start a claim now, if you do not want to i will respond to another call" talk about pushy, I mean you called me and I was just seeking clarity for my morphine addled brain before commiting to representation for major legal proceedings - would stay clear.

Mega!! Bold word to use but justified that I used Solicitors Direct on the purchase of my first house and again to move house. A long process all in all at no fault of the Solicitors directly but accommodations were friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. If I needed to chew Emma or Alex's ear about anything throughout the process they were nothing but friendly and happy to assist. I will 100% use them again in the future should I move house again and if anyone asks for any recommendations I will definitely put there names at the top of the recommendation list. Words honestly couldn't thank Emma and Alex enough for all there support and kindness over the last 14 months.

Poor communication throughout the process and made several errors that could’ve cost me money on conveyancing fees. The worst of it all was that they signed up to something on my behalf that I wasn’t made aware of. This meant my money was held up and not accessible to me which resulted in a financial loss.

I rang five minutes before closing time and Emma, who took my call, was great; taking time to put together a quote for conveyancing. The next day I went in and had an equally positive and customer-focussed response from the guys in the front office.
This is clearly a properly run company staffed by people who obviously enjoy their job. Impressed.

Requested legal advice and was given a price for this from Solicitor Direct, after agreeing to the work I heard nothing back from them at all, nobody called to collect payment, no email was sent to tell me what was going on. I rang them 3 days after the initial contact and the receptionists' response was basically 'well its only been 3 days.' When I spoke to the Lady who was actually supposed to be dealing with my inquiry her response was the same. If the culture at this business is that it is acceptable to take 3 days just to let the customer know what is going on or to take their payment, I dread to think how long it would take them to do any actual work. After still not hearing from them after an additional two weeks now I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I've been desperate to speak to a solicitor and with all the chaos going on at the moment feared that it would be impossible to get a appointment. Derek was brilliant, I had to self isolate myself and couldn't make my appointment so he rang me up and gave me all the advice I needed over the phone. I would defiantly recommend. He was very helpful and took the time out if his own busy schedule to give me free advice. Definitely worth 5 stars (I would give more if I could).

The most unprofessional service I have ever come across! Booked an appointment week before been told to come in on Saturday. On arrival been told that our appointment hasn’t been added to the diary so potentially we wont see anybody. Waited 30 min and then another client arrived for his appointment which meant we have been told that no one will see us today !!!! Absolute joke, waste of time and effort. Needed quick advice but we have had to wait a week for our appointment which in effect did not happen due to incompetence of staff who did not added our appointment to the diary.

Third time used for conveyancing and highly recommended. Service went beyond the required and Alex was a very helpful and communicative source to me in a difficult purchase and sale transaction cause by unsatisfactory cheap national conveyancers who caused untold problems. Solicitor direct however showed reason why they should be used on this important transaction and i would highly recommend them to all.

Donna is fantastic & managed to get the property sale through in only 10 days!!!!! Karens photographs were fantastic too and she managed to find the right buyer for my property by matching their own requirements to what my property provided. I have used this firm of solicitors for many years and have always been pleased with the friendly service and their ability to make you feel part of the process through clear communication and positive solutions to any potential issues that may (and usually do) arise.
I was fortunate to recently use the estate agent/solicitor package available through solicitor direct for the first time. I already had my expectations of the level of service from the conveyancing side, but I was very pleased to find that the estate agent service provided an equally excellent service.
Again communication was excellent and the process was faultless. The agent (Karen) not only obtained more for my property than I anticipated, but did so in a very timely manner (that is really an understatement, a suitable buyer was found in what can only be described as 'record time'). The whole transaction was smooth and stress free and I never felt as though I was chasing the process through.
Combining estate agency and solicitors under one organisation is a stroke of genius! I will definitely use the services of this company again and have no hesitation recommending them to friends and family.

Henry Prescott dealt with conveyancing on not one but in the end two properties! His customer service skills are excellent. He kept in touch not only with phone calls but emails too. He would always communicate when he said he was going to which was a bonus. He certainly made a very stressful situation less so. We received far more viewings through Solicitor's Direct than through any of the other agencies we tried... even better than that, though- they found us a buyer and helped us negotiate a good price. The conveyancing process was completely seamless, even though we were on a different continent. I would definitely recommend their services. The price was also excellent- they work as hard as all of the other agencies, but include conveyancing fees in the price, which saves you the hassle of finding someone else.

I had the misfortune to select Solicitor Direct to process the probate of my late wife Pamela June McGrath. I visited Mr. Derek Forrest on a couple of occasions. I actually believed he was competent in this area of the law.
How wrong could I be: one year later and a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman Service, followed by a second round with the Legal Complaints Service, proved his competence (or lack of it). Finally a visit to the County Court in Preston, where "dodgy" Derek's reputation had gone before him - result judgement against Solicitor Direct,
