Selling a home on behalf of an elderly relative comes with many stresses. Sou was superb, to say the least, going above and beyond repeatedly to help. She understood the complexity of the situation and went out of her way to make the process as easy and as stress free as I could have wished for. As I also didn't live locally to the property, Sou ensured the viewings, were fully taken care of. She provided updates, advice and support in the offer stages, and the house was sold in under a month. Even after the SSTC stage, Sou helped me arrange for access for surveys and trades, etc. Never failing to be the first to update me, ahead of the instructed solicitors. Mark and his team managed the sale of my late mother's bungalow. Mark went over and above what was expected securing the services of a locksmith, builder and plumber to rectify minor problems and gave sound advice through the sale process - this was particularly helpful as we lived 170 miles away. I would thoroughly recommend Tamlyns as an excellent estate agent.

Tamlyns managed my rental property for 2 years without issue at a reasonable fee. They also acted as my agent when I eventually sold the house, and did their role adequately.
In managing the property they were honest throughout, leaving both me as the landlord and the tenants quite content. They kept good track of landlord liabilities, and recommended tradesmen to complete routine and emergency repairs impartially.
Communication is good, though sometimes quite brief.

Tamlyns took us step by step through the house selling process. A buyer was found within two days, and this progressed all the way to contract exchange.
The Estate Agent that looked after our selling was Souhir Bsais (Sou) who was exceptional in helping everything go smoothly. She performed very well in her role as Negotiator to promptly gain an agreed price between parties, for the property. Sou also went well beyond the basics; the 'extra mile', including contact with the tenant who needed some extra support. The end result is that I will confidently continue using Tamlyns with any other selling or purchasing of property in the future.

Worst company, stay away. They steal your money, you know, the money that you work hard for, and that you need in these tough times!!!! Not giving some of your hard earned deposit back for the most ridiculous things!!! (Tamlyns don’t even bother commenting on this, you are liars and I can’t be arsed to read it.)
I could write SO many things on this review but I cannot be bothered to keep wasting my time on them.

Absolutely vile company with rude agents, they will work with landlords to evict you if you dare to complain. Their license should be revoked, and some also will be judged in the court of law. Accepting landlord's instructions to discriminate also amounts to discrimination

If I could give a no star review I would. Not only did a staff member of Tamlys leave us out of pocket with our deposit due to a weed left in the garden that we thought was a plant, they charged us for some baby formula that we accidentally left in a cupboard, which we needed and were never able to retrieve.
Yesterday a staff member approached an elderly gentleman in our new village and demanded that he cut the grass of a property they are about to put on the letting market (not his house, nothing to do with him) she was very rude and completely taking advantage of his helpful nature. Would appear that Tamlyns don't spend your deposit on getting a gardener in at all, they keep your money and ask neighbours to do it! Vile company.

3 Bedroom Semi-detached house (Bridgwater)
In total 3 estate agents provided me with a valuation of my property. I followed the recommended guidance and had two Highstreet estate agents and one online vendor, provide me with an estimate.
Although Tamlyns were the final company to provided me with a valuation for my property, they estimated my property to be worth £25K more than the previous assessments.
I posed the following question to (Mark) my estate agent, why is your valuation so much higher than the others?
He responded with absolute confidence and supported his answer with facts and figures regarding house sales in the area. He spoke about the effects of both under valuations an overestimate of the property’s potential asking price.
Although incredibly confident in his trade, Mark was never arrogant, he simply stated ‘It is my job to get you the best asking price I can, and I remain hopeful I can achieve the top price in line with what other houses are selling for in Bridgwater.
Being a percentage man, I asked Mark how confident he was he could achieve the asking price of £220K, he responded 85%!
We shook hands and he left me with some parting advice regarding kerb appeal and hints and tips for viewings.
Day one of being on the market and we received 4 viewings, resulting in two offers for the full asking price. 9 weeks and 5 days later we had completed our sale.
I would not hesitate to recommend Tamlyns, in particular (Mark)

Very helpful and friendly service from the Sales Team, Mark and Dan, at Tamlyns. They conducted a number of viewings of my Mum’s property, and then secured a sale. We were kept informed throughout, as was our conveyancer, and the sale went through very smoothly. Mark and Dan were always happy to help with any queries, no matter how small, and were also happy to liaise with the buyers on our behalf regarding which fixtures and fittings could be left in the house. to let a property and I have been extremely impressed with the service provided. Alice Hale has been the ultimate professional, responding swiftly and courteously with each and every request I made, including out of hours support when I snapped the key in the door whilst moving in! Alice understood the urgency that I needed to move into the property and she moved swiftly to make this happen, keeping me updated each and every step of the way. I am truly grateful for her professionalism and diligence . Claudia was also of great assistance when Alice was out of the office . I have had dealings with one other person in the office, unfortunately I do not know her name, but likewise she was personable and professional . Polite, proactive and responsive.
We recently carried out an emergency log burner installation for some of Tamlyns tenants. After the old wood burner failed, Tamlyns were very keen to have a new installation as quickly as possible. They chose us to carry out the installation.
From the outset Tamlyns were extremely responsive to my numerous questions. Despite a delay in choosing the right stove that was acceptable to the insurers, tenants and owner (this always takes time and cannot be rushed), Tamlyns jumped through all the hoops to get the heating on asap. If i was a landlord or a tenant, i would not hesitate to use their services

Personal opinion-Like swimming in a sea full of sharks and bleeding heavily, or possibly visiting a rogues convention.
After years of experiencing “Tamlyns” I would sooner let a Rogue Trader or Crimewatch suspect look after my financial affairs.
Rude, egotistical and high pressure tactics in my opinion and experience , whether your buying or selling
,I believe they will shaft you at every turn.
Tamlyn’s from my personal experience will wilfully pressurise you to buy a property with major undisclosed issues or act in a dubious pricing manner if selling.
Either way drop kick your wallet as far from Tamlyns door as you can.
Would give zero stars if possible.

Not impressed with Tamlyns at all. Is Dan the only one who ever answers the phone? He made an appointment for a market appraisal one day and didn't show up or even phone. I phoned to complain the next day, he answered, said he would come later that day. Appointment was kept but the promised email 'by Monday' has still not turned up (and it is now Thursday). Definitely would not use them again for anything.

We have been very pleased with the excellent service provided by Tamlyns. The agent who managed our purchase, Dan Evans, was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient from start to finish. When viewing other properties through a variety of estate agents, we were constantly disappointed by their lack of interest, knowledge and professionalism. The complete opposite was true from the first time we contacted Dan, and his manner at the first, and subsequent two viewings of the property we have just bought. Despite being based 70 miles from our holiday home Tamlyns were, for some reason, appointed to do the valuation for our buyers. With no local knowledge they down-valued the property from £165k to £140k.
Not surprisingly, the sale fell through shortly after. Thankfully for us the house resold quickly and this subsequent sale completed at a price of £162.5k.
To put this into some context, our agent valued the property at £165k (rather than us asking them to market it above and beyond what they suggested) and another local agent also valued it at a similar amount. We accepted an offer of £165k from our first buyer within a week of it being placed on the market; this sale collapsed shortly after Tamlyn’s down-valuation. The property went back on the market and, just over two weeks later, we accepted an offer of £162.5k from our second buyer. Both very quick sales as you can see, which reinforces our view that the property was hugely undervalued by Tamlyns.
To add insult to injury, the valuer concerned failed to follow simple instructions and turned off the socket switch that our WiFi router was plugged into (despite a sticker in it that says “DO NOT SWITCH OFF!” in capitals. Our security cameras were reliant on the broadband connection and, as a result, we were left without camera coverage for over 24 hours.
Our agent challenged the down-valuation and provided comparables to back it up but, unfortunately, Tamlyns did not respond. We also sent an email to Tamylyns to challenge the valuation and to ask why the valuer turned off our router, but their response was a complete fob-off. They even went as far to say that our sockets must be faulty!
We gave Tamlyns the opportunity to address our issues before submitting this review but they did not reply. This sums them up really - they take absolutely no accountability for their actions.

All customer service lumped onto the landlord. Nothing offered to tenants or potential tenants. No flexibility and screening potential tenants with prohibitive practices not offering the full range of service. The use of meaningless credit checks to prevent unsavory prospective tenants, even when the last tenant (who presumably passed the credit check) had to be evicted. We've never been behind with our rent, have always been good tenants and yet we were prevented from even applying for the property. It was outrageous behavior at the time and remains that way. Unless your a rich landlord, i'd find another way. It's these kind of practices that trap hardworking families in low cost housing when they should be able to move on and make room for others in greater need of low cost housing.
