My experience with Hurfords was plagued by delays, poor communication, and empty phone promises. If you use them, get everything in writing via email because their verbal information changes constantly. It is clear they prefer high-value properties; if your home is in the lower £500k range, expect to be treated as a low priority because there is not enough commission in it for them.
Their valuer initially overpriced my property just to win my instruction, but later their only solution was to suggest dropping the price by £25k to re-align to the "Guide" price. They relied almost entirely on lazy portal leads, focusing on ticking boxes with viewings while providing vague, useless feedback.
To make matters worse, they completely goofed up my Boxing Day launch by mistakenly slashing my price by a massive 4.4% instead of the agreed 2%.
Grace was helpful, but there are only 24 hours in a day for her to manage everything on her own. When Liza took over later, I saw some spark and potential, so out of goodwill I extended my contract by an extra two months. When they still failed to deliver and suggested yet another £50k drop, I terminated. Despite their errors and my extension, they showed zero corporate appreciation and rigidly enforced the 28-day notice period instead of waiving it.
Finally, do not fall for their boast about being part of the wider Sharman Quinney network. It is an empty sales pitch; I saw absolutely zero buyer traction or shared database help from those branches. Unprofessional from start to finish.

He claimed the issue was my price expectations and even made an unrealistic, unprovable claim that he was 'likely' to sell the property for 10-15% over market value. In reality, they were nowhere close to achieving that. This type of dishonest communication perfectly mirrors my original experience; instead of taking accountability for poor service, he chose to be defensive, passive-aggressive, and rewrite the facts....
