Stephenson Browne - Sandbach

38 High Street, Sandbach

We bought a house through the Sandbach office of Stephenson Browne this year and had such a positive experience with them that we wished we had sold our old home via them too. We spoke to Alannah and Paul throughout the process, both of whom were polite, professional and helpful. Their communication was excellent, which is something that was sorely lacking with our own estate agent. I would not hesitate to recommend them and they would certainly be our first port of call in the future if we look to sell our house.

Had a painter round to paint a tiny square patch below the stairs no more than a 5 minute job it took him an hour and half! Stephenson Browne didn't tell us it would take that long as a result my partner was late for work communication is clearly an issue avoid like the plague!.

Holden & Prescott - Macclesfield

1-3 Church Street, Macclesfield, Chesire

I have dealt with many estate agents over the years and no one comes close to holden and prescot. Can not fault them

Alex Carrington

Not only were this agent completely incompetent at bringing any offers, their specialist subject was cancelled viewings and just shouting at me if I asked any questions that caught them out, for example ‘how are you here with the keys when there is a viewing at my property right now?’ Cue shouting. ‘Yes you have great online statistics but you haven’t sold my house so your statistics aren’t working for me’ Cue shouting. They rest on their laurels of being well established in the area, rather than just doing their job. I would never recommend this agent and would warn against their bratty misogynistic behaviour at all costs.

Reeds Rains - Macclesfield

37-39 Church Street

I recently sold my house through Reed Rains Macclesfield and can not recommend them enough. I had the pleasure of dealing with Sue Wood who could not have been more helpful. I was constantly up to date with what was happening with the sale of my property. After the initial buyer pulled out at the eleventh hour Sue was straight on the phone to new potential buyers and set up many viewings the next day with one of them turning out to be the buyer of my property. When a new offer was accepted she was ecstatic, which shows how much she puts in to her work. If I was moving house again I would definitely use Reed Rains Macclesfield and would recommend them to anyone buying or selling in the area.

Just purchased a house through Reeds Rains, not an experience I would EVER want to repeat. Unprofessional, rude, totally lacking in customer service and seemingly incapable of advising their clients on the most basic concepts of house selling. I would advise anyone thinking of putting their house on the market with Reeds Rains to steer well clear. After speaking to family and friends it seems I am not alone with my views and am surprised they manage to stay in business when other local agents are head and shoulders above them in every aspect. Simply dreadful.

Very poor service and customer experience. The photos taken were extremely bad, I even had to send my own in which weren’t good at all, but were far better than the ones they had taken. The write up on my property was that bad I had to re-write it myself. I had an offer on the property which I accepted, but the house never turned to “under offer” or “sold stc”, even after a month. On querying this, I was informed their process is that they don’t mark it as under offer or sold stc until after surveys etc. are completed, although they weren’t letting anyone view the property that rang up so there was no purpose of showing it still available. I now know this is a load of rubbish and it is the process to mark as sold stc or under offer, really it was because the buyers had pulled out on 3 other properties, information which the estate agents failed to tell me about. Lo and behold after 3 months, they pulled out on buying my property as well. During those 3 months Whittaker & Biggs pressurised me almost on a daily basis to get everything completed with my solicitor, telling me the buyers weren’t willing to progress with survey or anything until I had completed all legalities through my solicitor and there was constant pressure for me to complete it all. Being a first time seller, I did as told. This resulted in me incurring all my legal fees as everything had been done ready to exchange contracts, which I have now had to pay for and lost that money as the house didn’t sell again within 2 months of it falling through. I am now £600 down. If they had been honest with me about the buyers and the fact mine was the 4th property they had put an offer on, I would have been more careful on accepting their offer and doing anything with my solicitor. While the sale was still going through, the buyers had a survey completed, which bought up 1 minor thing which wasn’t even an issue and I was made to believe my house was falling down, the report was terrible, I’m going to have to get other surveys / work completed, I’m going to have to drop the price, etc. etc. All the pressure on me. When I received a copy of the report I couldn’t believe it and the huge mountain out of a mole hill that had been made. Everything was in the buyers favour and none of the service at all was in my best interests. The impact of having to fork out £600 for nothing and the wasted 3 months has had on me, my family and life is huge and still impacts us to this day. This is peoples lives their messing with and I’m so upset to have received the service I did.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Awful service from a small time business. Not one positive thing to say about Whittaker and Biggs. They provided little to no information on most things. They didn't know how to work out stamp duty and told me to google it. They spoke down to me, very condescending, and pressurised me at every opportunity they could to sell my property just so they could take my money. I would give them zero stars if that was an option. Save yourself the hassle and choose someone else.

butters john bee - Sandbach

27 High Street, Sandbach

The purchase of our new property was handled by Butters John Bee. We had regular contact with Diane who always kept us fully updated with realistic expectations of the process. She was extremely helpful when assisting us in putting offers forward for the property we wanted to buy. We would highly recommend Butters and thank them for helping us buy our new home.
