We initially chose Reeds Rains Congleton to sell our house as we were impressed with Tim, Branch Manager, and being part of a larger nationwide agency, we felt, was beneficial. Thereafter, we have mainly liaised with Senior Negotiator Caroline at the branch.
Caroline is incredibly dedicated, ultra-professional and experienced and has supported us through the rollercoaster journey that makes house selling such a notoriously stressful process, particularly in the current challenging market. Due to external factors, we have suffered a couple of collapsed chains, not uncommon but still very upsetting, yet through it all, we knew the one person we could count on was Caroline. Even more than her expert and steady navigation throughout the ups and downs, we have especially valued her calm and empathic manner and just as importantly, so have our potential viewers/buyers who have often complimented her when commenting on their own dealings with the Congleton branch. Her listening and negotiation skills are first class. She has kept us going on many an occasion and one of her favourite sayings is 'it's another iron in the fire.' And indeed so it has turned out, with an iron in the fire turning into a proceedable sale for us. Thank you Caroline for always being there for your clients and for being the consummate professional.

I’ve given five gold stars to the service provided by Ruth Plumley of Reeds Rains estate agency because she is one of the few agents I’ve met while searching for my new home who understood her role and executed it professionally and with enthusiasm, while avoiding a pressurised sales pitch. She responded to my initial queries promptly, arranged the viewing and provided information and clarification of further questions posed without delay. Neither did she avoid answering what some might have perceived as probing questions. When we met at the property.
At the viewing Ruth showed us around and gave us time to get a feel for the house and grounds. It wasn’t a whirlwind, we never felt our attention was diverted from or information withheld. Additional information about the age of fixtures and fittings was volunteered without us having to ask, and any of queries that couldn’t be answered were answered in a follow up email shortly after the viewing. Ruth also invited us to return for a second viewing with our daughter if we wanted to, which we appreciated.
We did follow up with several more queries by email, all of which Ruth answered with full and clearly articulated answers. Although we have reluctantly decided not to buy the property, we were so impressed with Ruth’s very personable approach that should we ever need to use an estate agent in the future to sell a property, Reeds Rains would be our agency of choice. Our positive experience has also been shared with friends and relatives who are considering putting their properties on the market next Spring as we can vouch for the care and attention we received.

Awful sorting out our tenancy. Refused to let us sign the lease until the day before we were due to move in, apparently they were doing ‘checks’ on the property. Caused a lot of stress as we had no security that there would be a home for us to move into. Despite these ‘checks’, the property had multiple issues that we are still chasing to be sorted.

Started with the branch manager Tim lying about a property he had sold in the local area, turns out they hadn’t. He then offered us a ‘discount’ on the fee, failing to mention that he wasn’t including the VAT in the number. Then they charged for photos which were pretty terrible and a very difficult photographer to deal with. When it came to showing the house we left instructions to ensure the curtains were opened during viewing as we were away. This didn’t happen and the interested parties had to do this themselves. The agent last showing around couldn’t share any information on the property as they were from the Lettings side of the business. Another appointment the agents didn’t turn up leaving potential buyers stood on the doorstep eventually giving up. Luckily the house sold itself. Reeds Rains Congleton are a great advert for purple bricks!

Having carried out alot of "time wasting, non starter & deeply frustating" rental viewings for our Ukrainian guests if a year, desperately now hoping to continue with a safe but independent life within the UK, it was the BIGGEST relief to meet Zoe and the whole Reeds Rains Team!

Tim and Hannah did a marvellous job over the last year, firstly selling my mothers large house and getting a good price and making it very easy for us. The process went as mum had wanted, being able to enjoy a final summer in the house and garden. Even when difficulties arose and new septic tank rules came in to play they provided excellent support and communication was always easy. Caroline was helpful during the sale of our property and informative throughout.
However there was a period in between where she was on annual leave, and my request to look for a rental property passed on to another colleague. I didn’t have a positive experience as I didn’t feel the person had a best interest at heart and understanding the position I was in. At that time, I pretty much thought Reeds Rains forgot that we pay for their service.
To say the least when Caroline was back and picked up my query she was polite and apologetic towards what happened, and helped to reassure my anxieties as we all know selling property is one of the most stressful events in life.
I can safely say in the end the whole completion went well, there was delay but within reason. No drama luckily!

We recently used Reeds Rains in Congleton to sell our house. I wouldn’t usually leave a Google review, but I was asked to do so.
We were initially really impressed with Reeds Rains. Katy came to value the house and suggested a pragmatic approach to market our property, which ultimately led to us receiving a very fair price and a quick sale. Katy organised back-to-back viewings for prospective purchasers, where we were able to pop out for a Saturday afternoon whilst a dozen people came to view the property, rather than having viewings spread out over several days.
Unfortunately, after we accepted an offer on our property Katy no longer dealt with us as we were passed on to others in the Congleton office and regular communication from Reeds Rains essentially stopped.
After months of next to no communication from Reeds Rains, as we approached the point where we were nearing the exchange of contracts, we did begin to receive communication from Reeds Rains. These communications, however, were very pushy and applied pressure on us to exchange contracts as quickly as possible before month end - perhaps motivated by end of month sales bonuses. It felt like Reeds Rains had forgot we were the ones paying for their services, and were acting on our buyer’s behalf.
On the day of completion I received a telephone call from Reeds Rains to say that they weren’t sure if we were completing the purchase/sale on that day, despite having confirmed this date with them 10 days beforehand in writing. This placed a great deal of stress on me.
Our experience of using Reeds Rains is of two halves. Katy is an asset to the Congleton branch, she was like day and night compared to estate agents from other competing firms that came to provide an initial appraisal/valuation of the property. Unfortunately, the rest of our Reeds Rains experience was very disappointing, and therefore I would not be in a position to recommend Reeds Rains of Congleton to anyone selling a property in the local area.

Lack of feedback and sending people not in a position to buy as haven't sold. When I wanted to move agents I was not allowed. I used reads rains before and was not happy as it took around 2 years to sell. 3 different managers. I put it down to the branch, but after this episode I believe its the company. After 12 week I told them that I wanted to bring in another agent. They told me i had to remain with them for 20 weeks before I could have another agent.i was fuming. Then when the Time came they told me i had to give them 28 days notice. Before this though when they told me it was 20wks I phoned the branch I used before for them to confirm it was 20wks as when I used them it was only 12wks. They confirmed it as 12wks , so I phoned back to tell them what I was told. They referred me to the contact. It good to show they don't know they're own rules. Once I'd changed agent the house was sold for a lower price as time was important. Never again, they cost me money loads of time and stress Panic attacks never ever again.

We chose Reeds Rains at Congleton because we had previously had a meeting a couple of years ago with the manager Tim about selling our house and found him helpful and professional, yet friendly and approachable. Tim visited us again to agree the selling price and sign the contract. We started getting viewings almost immediately before the adverts had even been created online. 2 of the staff came to look round
the house so they were familiar with it which I thought was a great idea. Within 3 weeks we had 5 good quality viewings and the 5th person bought our house. The process was quickly and efficiently dealt with by all the staff in Reeds Rains office, it didn’t matter who answered the phone, Stacey, Emily or Rob, they could all help. We completed within 3 months of the first meeting! There are cheaper ways of advertising a house nowadays but you cannot beat the personal service, knowledge of the local market and the assurance your prospective buyers get from dealing with a great team, guiding the seller and buyer through the process. We would definitely recommend.

Stacie at Reeds Rains congleton was a great help to us when we moved home earlier in the year. We sold within a month of putting our house on the market and for our full asking price. Within the weeks after she made sure our solicitors/ the buyers solicitors had everything they needed to proceed to completion as we had a set date in mind (5 weeks deadline). She chased all parties and kept us updated which was a great help and I cannot thank her enough.

I cant speak highly enough of my experience with Reeds Rains. I had the pleasure of dealing with Robert Nichol and I have to say that through out the whole process not only was he very professional, thorough and prompt but he also showed great empathy with the situation that I was in.
Whilst other estate agencies had pretty much decided that they wouldn't or couldn't help me to find somewhere to live, Robert never showed any doubt that he would find a suitable property for my daughter and me to live. It was like a breath of fresh air to speak to somebody with a positive and can do attitude.
I was always able to get in touch with Robert which was really good and the whole process was so refreshingly straight forward, from start to finish.
